Dar Chamaa

Young enthusiastic staff who were happy to help - even at 03:00 for an early start! The hotel is situated in the palmerie and is a wonderful oasis of calm and airiness. We stayed for 4 nights and would go back.

Late arrivals and early starts can be noisy and the sounds echo.

Beautiful Design, almost Zen like feeling. Safe and convenient parking.

It was a little difficult to find in a neighborhood that did not seem very inviting in the dark. There was no sign at the main street.

Probably the friendliest and most hospitable staff I have come across. The food was so good that we opted to eat the 3 course dinner all 3 nights we stayed. 3 of the best Moroccan meals we had in Morocco.

Nice spacious room and bathroom with functioning fixtures.... Charming reception and a nice view. Not easy to find. Go to end of the village. It is in the middle of a rural residential area.

The staff was great. The hotel was really new. The view on the Atlas mountains was amazing. The rooms vere comfortable. Diner was nice and not too expensive.

- Beautiful rooms - Nice balcony with nice views - Friendly staff. - Available laptop with internet, for free. - Nice dinner (not included, about 11 euro pp, but totally worth it) - Nice pool and garden - Very beautifull, riad-style, lobby with an open-air center, surrounded by the rooms. - Private, closed parking with guard, because it's in the outskirts of the town

- Sound insulation is rubbish. Barking dogs and mosque-chanting kept us awake, earplugs didn't even help. No double glazing. The door of the room must be of cardboard or something cause early in the morning we were waked cause of the noise of other visitors. It's nice that (riad-style) all the rooms are gathered around the open-air patio but for sound matters, it's a disaster.

Me and my wife stayed her for 3 nights and loved the place. Staff are caring and very helpful. Swimming pool area very nice and clean. We will book Dar Chamaa again when we return to Ouarzazate.

The laundry service was no good. Clothing came with strange smell and not well pressed.

This Dar is a well hidden secret in the vicinity of Ouarzazate. It is a shame that most people use this place as a one stop hub to travel further to Zagora or other places the next day, as the hotel is worth while staying in for some longer time to enjoy the great services of the staff, the excellent dishes and the relaxation to be found around the swimming pool. The rooms are well designed and very clean. Ask for the superior room and enjoy the extra space and view on the garden. We cordially thank the staff for their kindness and great hospitality.

Dar Chamaa is a perfect place to relax and to discover the area around Ourzazate with its many Kasbahs. We liked the garden with the swimming pool and the view from our room (make sure you get a room with pool view). The staff is very friendly and does everything possible to enjoy your stay. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a nice and clean bath room.

Dar Charmaa was surprisingly inexpensive for the great atmosphere and service. It was clean, quaint, quiet with very nice and helpful staff.

Tough to find without really good directions or some one to just take you there. No tv in the bedrooms and could not get the WiFi to work.

April 12-16 2012 We came through a couple of sand storms( common apparently) before we got to Ouarzazate from Agadir – 6hrs 30 mins amd terrible roads – 29 kms of roadworks and they mean it – dirt track diversions, and the temperature had dropped to 17 deg. Booking.com got us the directions to the Boutique hotel, which we had seen in the Lonely Planet Guide, but only after we had booked it. It looked like a castle at the edge of a plantation of palm trees, with views over to the Atlas mountains, and it didn’t let us down – We immediately got upgraded to a bigger better room, ( as we could see on the fire plans of each room on the back of each door – the ones at the back with the balconies are the biggest ) on the first floor with views and a balcony over the pool and the gardens. It had an extra bed which we used as a settee, and plenty of space (only 5 hangers ) and shelves for clothes, a large mirror and a fixed table and chair, and a luggage rack, with extra pillows, cushions, and thick throws for the beds – a big single, large double with a shelf along the wall for all your night-time things and loads of extra plugs and a couple of lamps. It had an on suite shower and huge bowl ( made of polished stone with fossils of razor shells, and a snail shell area for the plug ) set in a table. Fresh towels every day and a small bottle of water and 2-3 pieces each day, as well as the room tidied up. The key needed to be put into a docking station to get the electrics to work. There were 2 windows in the room, which had wooden shutters inside the windows. Parking was in the gravelled, walled gated area at the front of the hotel, and the guys on the electric buzzer at the door where always on the ball and managed to squeeze our car into the parking area. They also were always pleased to get our great deal of luggage 4-6 bags, up to our room on the first floor up the stairs – no lift.

As there are sand and wind storms, I think that it could be a good idea to have really good windows, which don’t rattle and let the wind in, and a Perspex cover ( which I have seen in Marrakesh- Riad Slawi ) for the centre square of the hotel so as to stop the draughts, and sand from coming down the central well in the middle of the hotel. A Fridge would also make all the difference. Need a car as well away from town centre.

The decor is modern and attractive. Our room was spacious with a pleasant view. They've made a real effort to surround the pool with a well laid out terrace and garden on a fairly small plot. The staff were very friendly.

The soup and tajine could both have been hotter. The location of the hotel is unprepossessing and you need a map to find it.

Everything! The location is excellent for touring the area. The hotel is extremely well appointed, the best i have stayed in during my 3 visits to Morocco. The people at the hotel were great and could not do enough for you. I told them i would return and i will!

La bonne surprise, la magnifique vue sur la montagne et un vrai oasis, belle palmeraie où on y vit réellement. :)

El trato con el personal, un hotel con mucho encanto, mucho confort, un gran trato personal. Un hotel muy recomendable. Estaba buscando un hotel para una parada de dos dias de un grupo y lo he encontrado.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes "Superior-Zimmer".Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb, aber mit einem Auto ist Anreise und Besichtigung der Stadt kein Problem. Sehr gutes Frühstück.

TUTTO! questo RIAD ha in se tutti gli aggettivi positivi che si possono esprimere, la Pulizia sopra ogni cosa è impeccabile e seguire il servizio e non meno importante il design.

Per fare un appunto devo dire che la strada per raggiungerlo non proprio una magnificenza...

Uitstekend ontbijt. Heel goede nette kamers. 's Avonds een uitstekend 4 gangen menu voor een schappelijke prijs.

Wir waren drei Tage im Da Chamaa. Eine wunderschöne Anlage mit geräumigen, modernen Zimmern. Toller Garten mit klasse Pool! Hat uns allen sehr viel Freude gemacht. Am Tag der Abreise wurde uns um 03:30 Uhr ein Frühstück zubereitet! Total freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Bei unserer nächsten Reise werden wir wieder dort bleiben.

Vriendelijk personeel, mooie ruime kamers. Mooi uitzicht en zwembad zag er goed uit. Eten was eenvoudig maar in orde.

Geen keuze in diner, vast menu. Locatie is niet geweldig, uitzicht vanuit tuin wel maar aan voorzijde niet. Ligt ver van de stad.
