Beautiful guesthouse in an excellent location run by people who clearly love to host and make you feel at home. You are within walking distance of the medina and the best that the kasbah has to offer.
The owners were very kind, hospitable and helpful for finding our way in Tangier. The hotel itself is a gem, see the rooftop terrace.
Dar Chams was the perfect start to our Moroccan adventure. The location and staff were amazing (they were very caring when I fell ill) and we couldn't have asked for more. Very, very highly recommended.
Loved it. No complaints at all.
Location was excellent every thing within reach . It was my first time to stay in Ryad, which i think is a great experience to live with the local people
The hot wate was poor
Amazed to find such an excellent hotel run by a French couple, makes our short stay in Tanger worthwhile and unforgettable!
Should provide pick up service from the port!
It was all amazing!
the most outstanding thing is the hospitality and care for the details delivered by Michelle and Dominique (?sp?). I had trouble with my airline flights, and they went out of their way to help. Much appreciated.
The noise in the streets at night during Ramadan; not the hotel's issue....
I and my sister stayed at Dar Chams Tanja during Ramadan and had no complaints about the accommodations or service. Though we had been touring Spain just prior to our arrival, we are from the Southwest United States. When we arrived we were given sweet tea and refreshments to welcome us to the hotel and Tangier. The hotel, itself, is located at the top of the Kasbah and the Medina. There is also a very skilled and knowledgeable gentleman that also assists with the running of the hotel. He was very kind and helpful to both I and my sister. Bushra and Aysha were very skilled as assistants and very caring and friendly. Primarily French, English, and Arabic are spoken there. Dominique and Michelle are the proprietors and are originally from France. If you wish to visit the surrounding countryside or more of the city, they will happily find a guide for you. I highly recommend Dar Chams Tanja if you are planning to visit Tangier or Morocco.
The entire experience was rather charming. Aysha and Bushra made the loveliest breakfast every day and their eggs were superb.
I was so happy making this choice...The place you choose to stay makes or breaks EVERYTHING, and i chose PERFECT. Michelle & Dominic are AMAZING hosts and their sole purpose is to make their guests COMFORTABLE and CONTENT. Their staff is wonderful as well, they do it all clean, cook and attend to your every need with a HUGE authentic smile. their are only seven rooms which makes the staff be able to really take care of their guests needs...everyone of them. Michelle does'nt stop setting up tours, suggesting the best place to see, shop and eat at. She knows the city extremely well and i recommend that you jump on whatever she suggests it will make your stay in this AMAZING CITY the best it can be. I truly cannot wait to go back and spend MORE TIME HERE...LOVED
The staff, the breakfast, the roof top terrace, the location, the helpful owners, the cleanliness, the room.
The breakfast does not start until 08.30. That's a long time to wait when you wake up before 0700.
The staff were very helpful in giving us directions to landmarks and restaurants which we wanted to visit. The breakfast was lovely with fresh yoghurt, fresh cheese, fruit, eggs and honey soaked pancakes.
We thought that the rooms were soundproofed, but we could hear people in the room next door, and water in the pipes from the room above. We could also hear people out in the street. It would have been very nice to have a kettle to make cups of tea, and perhaps even a small fridge to keep water cool. The view over Tangier from the breakfast area was blocked by an opaque windshield, so that you couldn't really see the view that we liked the look of in the photos of the property. We felt we would have liked a little more privacy - the owners obviously take great pleasure in having guests, and while they are lovely people, we were wanting a getaway where we could be a little more anonymous.
Well presented and located. The owners a delight and very helpful with local info, their recommendation for diner was outstanding at Art et Gourmet! Rooftop terrace relaxing and shares magnificent views of water and medina. A wonderful stop after traveling most of the day from Fes.
Loved the whole experience. The owners were friendly, helpful and made a fabulous breakfast.
I likes it all.
The hosts were very warm and welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The Dar had been completely renovated to very high standards and the rooms and common areas were all excellent in terms of size and facilities. We only stayed the one night and had to leave early the next morning. Michele and Dominic helped us with all our arrangements and put on a wonderful (early) breakfast for us before we departed.
The owners were friendly and very hospitable. The view from the rooftom terrace was spectacular and the food was great. The rooms were comfrtable.
Probably one of the best boutique hotels / B&Bs we have ever stayed in. We loved it and Tangier and will be returning
The hotel is beautifully decorated in Moroccan style. The hosts can not do enough to help you. The breakfast was an elaborate, tasty and a work of art. I have never seen such a beautifully presented breakfast.
owners are very worm and helpful, as well staff ready to do every wish. Very clean, beautiful view over Tanger from terrace, breakfast fresh and tasty. When back to Tanja stay in Dar Shamps Tanja.
Absolute perfection, peace and tranquility. Warm and welcoming owners and staff.
Everything. You would have to be a serious whinger to think this was not an excellent experience.
Excellent location, excellent service and facilities. The staff was great, helpful and open to helping us find our way around Tangier. Will definitely return for a longer stay.
Facilities, location, breakfast, architechture... but, overall, personal touch and friendship
Excellent hotel, decor tasteful and in keeping with location. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and staff. Only meal we had was breakfast which was the best ever had in a an hotel! Plentiful, varied and tasty. If you want to stay in Tangier in a traditional style hotel, stay here.
* The hospitality was great * The support of Michele and Dominique in any aspect (guides, taxi, info) was excellent. * Breakfast was a great starter of the day. * The DAR Charms is a fantastic hotel, which is really worth while visiting. * Very quite environment, especially during the night
* Nothing was a disappointment
Dar Chams Tanja, Tangier. Fit for 1001 nights We, a retired couple, stayed at this B&B for two nights while visiting Tangier. We heartily recommend it. The owners are a charming retired French couple from Nice who welcome you as if into their own home. Everything is absolutely tastefully renovated in a moorish style. Our room - on the third floor walk up - was ample size, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The rooftop terrace is wonderful with a lovely view of the town and the sea. The hotel is perfectly-situated at the top of the Kasbah and Medina, with good restaurants in walking distance. Although English is not her first language Michele easily makes herself understood and, although her husband, Dominique, speaks less English, communication was not a problem. They arranged a taxi pickup (5€) at the ferry and a good English-speaking guide for a half-day tour of the old city. On arrival we were offered welcoming mint tea on the terrace as we completed our city orientation and checkin. The next day Michele surprised us with tea in our room after our tiring day touring. Breakfasts were wonderful: an endless parade of sweet and salty cakes, fruit skewers, fresh orange juice, custom-cooked eggs, crepes and more. Their assistants, Aysha and Bushra, were tirelessly cheerful and helpful, as was the guard who tended to the door and who assisted with any services required at night.
