Score from 125 reviews Wonderful
Good size room and bathroom. Nice décor. Loved the court centre, and the place was very well located for the old Medina markets. Very quiet at night, and although there were 2 other couples in residence. felt like we had the place to our selves. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, and even drove us to the Fez Ceramics factory.
There was no wardrobe in the room, so nowhere to put clothes. There was very little, and sometimes no hot water. Our room was on the ground floor just off the central court yard which was not a problem. The problem was that the glass in the doors and windows, while coloured, was clear so if you drew the curtains you had no privacy, and with the curtains drawn the room was dark and you had to depend on artificial light. Other than that, all was good.
Geoffrey and his staff were incredibly hospitable, always on hand to help, give advice or recommendations or make us comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more. The Dar itself is just a 10 minute walk from the medina, this means that you are overlooking the beautiful hills and countryside around Fez and can enjoy its peaceful surroundings. A welcome break for us after the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Dar Dalila is both traditional and opulent, we were blown away by its amazing decor, and attention to detail. It is truly sublime and spotlessly clean. We were given an upgraded room on arrival which was enormous, beautiful and comfortable. Finally, make sure you order an evening meal there - their cook is fantastic and prepared us a wonderful evening meal the night we arrived. Fantastic Moroccan cuisine, and such treatment, we were so delighted. Breakfasts are also plentiful, with enough to keep us full all day and enjoyed from the gorgeous terrace. Simply the best!
Everything was perfect, but if I had to be fussy, it would have been nice to have a kettle/tea/coffee making facilities in the room. However, you only had to ask and Geoffrey/the Dar Dalila staff would bring you anything you wanted. We just felt bad later in the evening asking them for teas/coffees. But truly it is impossible to be negative about such a beautiful retreat!
Excellent riad and help! Beautiful rooms, good location
Geoffrey was a gracious host! He arranged for our transfer from and to the airport in addition to a local tour guide. Breakfast was excellent on the rooftop with the view of the city.
Geoffrey, the owner was most helpful and friendly. Always there to help or advise. Looked after us as if we were his family more than his guest. Murat was there when you needed him. Knew exactly when to bring what we wanted. Food served - thanks to their cook - was the best we had in our travels through Morocco. There was nothing we could complain about with amazing attention to smallest detail. A perfect place to stay. We'll definitely go back thanks to his hospitality and kindness!
Friendly staff, fascinating interior. This hotel is located in safe and quiet area, at the same time, closed to old medina. The owner Henroy is so kind and gives you good informations about whatever you need in Morroco. And the breakfast in Dar dalilia was the best. I truly recommend this hotel to travellers who want to enjoy good time in beautifel rihad in Fez.
One of the best kept treasures, extremely clean, very friendly owner and staff, always ready to help, French,English, arabic, we're all easily communicated, very close to the main attractions, beautifully and tastefully decorated rooms, rooms were massive!!! We had our parents as well and they were given the ground floor room which was very convenient for their age... The breakfast had a lot of variety and very well served. And definitely the most beautiful terrace!!! Perfectly clean, terracotta planters with lemons and tasteful rattan loungers, and stunning view. The owner Geoffrey was a star, and had a lot of local knowledge, and we had common interest of antiques...so that led to a lot of chit chat... Thanks Geoffrey you made our stay brilliant.
Amazing staff that looked after your every need. The hotel is a nice retreat from the medina
This is great value for money - the rooms are large, the terrace has an amazing view and once you are orientated, it's in a great location. The staff were extremely helpful and their recommendations were spot on.
The beds are a quite short but that's only a problem if you're 6ft or over.
The staff were very kind and willing to help, showed us where to go for something to eat and arranged a guide if fes for us without any hassle.
Some fruit with breakfast would add to an already lovely breakfast.
Abdul was an excellent host and Morat, his staff, was very nice. The Dar was very clean, in a quiet location that was still close to the craziness of the Medina. Each breakfast was very tasty and prepared at whatever time we preferred. The patio upstairs also had a beautiful view. We had an excellent experience at Dar Dalila!
the cleanness,breakfast,kindlness,the terrace.
the bathroom outside the room
The house is lovely and full of Maroccan treasures. The owner is very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was the best we had in Morocco. It is very clean and comfortable.
The staff member who was there all the time spoke only Arabic which was confusing at times. He was obliging and tried to help but maybe something written explaining what is going on. We had mint tea on arrival but it took about 20 minutes to prepare as he waited for owner and we were very travel weary and it would have been great to have straight away. The location is difficult to find and it is a bit complicated getting to and from the medina and took us three trips to sort out.
Our stay at Abdul's Riad was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent and we were treated like royalty. Anything we asked about Abdul attended to for us. When we arrived we were escorted to the medina just to make sure we had our bearings, showing us places to eat and enjoy coffee with a view. He organized day trips for us and took us on a morning tour himself to show us parts of Fes we would never have visited. The Riad is immaculate with it's beautifully restored Moroccan decor. I felt so at home and comfortable here that after 4 nights I was sad to leave and could have stayed for a month. The Riad is situated just outside the medina and was extremely peaceful and quiet. Thank you Abdul for making our stay in Fez unforgettable.
There was not a thing we did not like.
I really liked the Dar, it was beautiful, well located and with a brilliant service. The terrace on the rooftop was exactly what we needed when we wanted some rest from the crowded Medina. The owner is a very nice man, he gave us good advice for a restaurant, a bar and how to get a alcoholic drink (buy it in the supermarket and drink it on the rooftop)
I had a great stay! The decoration, the hospitality, the breakfast. I enjoyed the conversations with Abdel. He is such a great host makes me feel like home. The staff is also very vice, he accompanied me to walk into medina. I like the room, very elegant and clean. The terras embraces the medina with the scent of orange flower. It is located in a quite place inside the medina. I had an excellent stay.
Lovely welcome. Good selection for breakfast. Quiet and peaceful. Our young children were made to feel very welcome.
Quiet location meant a little further to walk to heart of medina and tanneries etc.
The place is really beautiful and the owner doors everything top be helpful and make you feel at home.
A beautiful Guesthouse in the traditional style located close to the Souks of Fes. A calm place with a beautiful Terrace on the roof that invites you to spend the evening above the rooftops of the old Medina. The owner and his friendly staff will give you the feeling of being welcome anytime. We (a couple end 40s) spent three nights here and we can recommend this place wholehearted to anybody who likes to enjoy moroccan hospitality.
The owner (speak English very well) and hotel staff (speak English a little bit) are extremely nice. The owner gave us many useful details such as nice restaurant and cheap souvenir shop. We booked 4-bedroom which room is very nice and clean. Room cleaned everyday and towels are changed everyday. No heater but there is air condition in room but blanket are enough and can request more. 1-toilet and 1-bathroom with toilet are separately but only for this 4-bedroom and clean. Breakfast is very nice.
We received a warm welcome from Murat the housekeeper. Who brings tea, opens the door for you and helps you out whenever needed. (The actual owner is a morrocan guy who returned from Finland after 16 years. A true perfectionist in every way.) Beyond the fact that the room was perfectly clean. The sense of detail in the house is unequaled. It's just perfect. You can see great craftmanship everywhere. In and outside the rooms (they have 4 rooms) Both nights we had a wonderful and perfect breakfast (croisants, omlette, oranges, etc etc) Location is great as well, outside the bussle and around 100 meters from the green route (signboards in the medina) so it's easy the find your way back. Wfi worked fine and parking in the street is possible (we've chosen to park our car inside a garage 50 meters at the corner of the street for 30 Dhm a night) Great value for money, we would stay there again for sure!
All was perfect but if i must mention one minor thing... It would be the fact that it's not possible to hang the shower.
The place was fantastic. I am a Maroccan and know the authentic from that doled out to the tourists and Dar Dalila was authentic through and through. The place was peaceful and while we did not have that many needs, everyone we had was fully catered for, and the owner, bless him, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. We felt totally at home and, I for one (and I speak for my wife also) will not stay anywhere else in Fes. Not even if it were for free.
Very great Riad! Well furnished, feels like in a museum, everything is perfect! All in Moroccan style and perfectly cared, in great position. The owner Abdel is the real added value: always nice, always ready to help and really caring about guests and devoted to his job! Great position, just at beginning Medina, but very quiet and silent. Great breakfast. This is the best place! You'll feel like in a 1001 nights!
Both Abdul (owner) and Morad (chef/manager) were kind, caring and always at the ready to assist us with what we needed. We loved our stay and would definitely come back again!
It was a minor inconvenience, but we didn't like the fact that the bathroom wasn't attached to the bedroom. It was very close, however, to the bedroom, so again, it was not a major issue.
The host Abdel is very friendly and helpful. The riad itself is beautiful and a delight to stay in.
