In the centre of the action. Sweet hideaway with lovely staff, beautiful dinner. Gorgeous setting.
The Hamman experience was not the best. Women talking with each other throughout massage, which was strange. Best to go to the spa nearby.
After a lengthy wait at passport control, we were greeted by a man holding up our name ready for a taxi to the Riad which we had pre arranged. A 15 minute drive through chaotic traffic brought us to the end of the road that Dar Dakkoula is on. A short walk brought us to this fabulous wooden door where on ringing the bell we were warmly greeted and led up 2 flights of stairs and shown to our room. Room 6, amazing and breathtaking! A small reception area with its own fireplace and then to the right a room with 2 singles beds and a small balcony. To the left through wooden swing doors into a generous sized bathroom with 2 wash basins and this huge bath, this then leads into the main bedroom with a very generous and a further seating area. There is no tv or coffee maker but that wasnt an issue. Beds really comfortable, great linen! Heating/air con worked really well. The riad is set over 3 floors each offering some hide a way terrace or balconies, all planted abundently together with a small swimming pool. In the evening the lower çourtyard is lit up with candles providing a beautiful atmosphere. We would really recommend staying in one evening to sample Ilham's cooking. The chicken tagine was just fantastic. Breakfasts are a tasty array of local breads/pancakes with great jams and yoghurt or fruit salad. The other rooms we saw all looked great in a different way. The combination of architecture, mosaics, furnishings give this Riad great character and for an oasis of calm in Marrakech - could not recommend it enough. Our thanks go to Mounia, Ilham and Fatima for looking after us so warmly.
Roof-top terrace and view over the city while listening to the muezzin in the morning
- the personnel was super friendly and nice - great location - walk to Medfina in 5-10 minutes and to the main square - in 10-15 minutes - breakfast and dinners are wonderful - the rooms are like from a fairy tale :) - the chimney in the room is so perfect in cold evenings - great service for hamam and massage Highly recommended!
-The location of the riad is great . -The riad inside is like a palace.
-The stuff are ok .
Wonderful, beautiful rooms with lots of lovely details to discover in the interior design. We stayed for three nights in december and the rooms felt quite cold at first, but the staff made up fire in the fireplace in the evening and in the wonderful breakfast room in the morning. Huge and very comfortable beds, nice and clean, a good location and helpful staff.
Bad wifi. A little too cold in the rooms at first. Not english speaking staff att all time, but it was possible to communicate anyway.
The staff was outstanding. Very friendly and efficient. Their English was very limited except for one staff member but they went out of the way to make us feel welcome and cater to all of our needs.
Nothing not to like.
This was a truly wonderful experience. A beautifully calm old riad in a very convenient location just north of the souk. It has a wonderful garden, a small pool two roof terraces and magnificent evening meals. The staff are extremely helpful and the beds are wonderful
Almost nothing! There is only one choice of evening meal - but it is superb. Also the rooms are authentically a little older. Don't expect a Premier Inn.
This riad was totally beautiful and so peaceful, unless you knew it was behind the big wooden door you would never guess what lay behind. The weather was quite good but it rained on the Monday and was a bit chilly so we were ushered into the general lounge for our breakfast and both the open fires were lit stunning, when we returned at tea time the fire in our room had been lit which was beautiful. We were probably the only people staying but you could see our custom was valued. To experience the real Marrakech a stay in a Riad is a must, the hustle and bustle on the streets is hectic so this is an excellent escape
The excellent atmosphere. Wonderful old building, exquisite furniture.nice patio. Nice street , easily reachable from palace nearby .
That we arrived very tired and had to sleep the first night in another riad because they had overbooked the place . I would have liked a bigger room
A hidden treasure behind an impressive wooden door on a very unimpressive street. The staff could not have been more helpful. They ever offered to come and light a fire for us before we came back at night. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Always smiling, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dar Doukkala.
Having to leave !! I can say nothing negative about Dar Doukkala.
Beautiful rooms and gardens, friendly and exceedingly accommodating staff, great location on a street in Medina near the square. Stunning terraces also!
It was an old Riad but everythink is clean and very need. Very nice, quite, big rooms and a nice bathroom! Excellent and special food.
Dinner was excellent but a bit expensive.
Great staff and beautiful location. Highly recommend.
Fantastic Riad. Great location and pool. The suite was huge with a massive bed and the largest bath you have seen.
Good wifi, large room in Moroccon style, free fruit at the room.
No hospitality of the owner, very noisy airco, no minibar/fridge, poor shower.
absolutely perfect sanctuary. beautiful rooms, beautiful courtyard, pool (for actually swimming and sunning if desired), beautiful roof terrace, delicious food, gracious and accommodating staff. LA
nothing. this was my second stay and hope to return.
My stay in Marrakech was made so relaxing by the helpful staff at the Riad Dar Doukkala. My room was spaceous with a beautiful bathroom that glowed by the reflections from a big stain glass window. The room came with a private balcony and was cooled by an abundent supply of air conditioners. Breakfast was lovely, great coffee. It was served either on the rooftop terrace, on my balcony or by the plunge pool. This riad is well situated. Near to the souks and sights and the beautiful garden was a welcome oasis after a day sightseeing. Having spent three days in Essiouira I returned to this riad for my final two days. I arrived early in the morning and they had prepared my room and supplied a complementary breakfast. I highly recommend this pretty riad.
Fantastic and friendly staff with beautiful rooms amd gardens. Lots of different areas and terraces to discover. Perfect place for relaxation and location is also great to explore the souks and the square, walking distance to all the main attractions.
Nothing at all.
There is only service for breakfast.
All is beauty in dar doukkala. Good taste, confort and good location.
Amazing Riad with lovely girls running it.
Our suite was lovely but it faced the street so there was some noise (suite 3)
Great place, full of character and feels very private compared to other riads we stayed during our 1 week trip to Marrakech-Merzouga. The terrace was lovely and our room had direct access to the pool, courtyard and a great view to the riad's beautiful indoor garden where we enjoyed breakfast among fruit trees and songbirds. Our room was amazing and very spacious, it definitely surpassed our expectations. The staff was very friendly and the whole riad was incredibly clean and inviting and offered a refuge after a day's adventure in the crazy Medina of Marrakech!!
