The staircase is very narrow and almost impossible to use with luggage but they carry your luggage up and down.
All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We received a quick map tour of the town. The rooms were comfortable and the showers hot. In the evening a fire was lit in the reception room downstairs and again for breakfast at which all the guests sat around one large table and everyone talked to the others as in one big family - fantastic atmosphere. Great roof terrace.
Large comfortable beds, beautiful atmosphere and great friendly staff.
Staff were all lovely, and it was a really lovely Riad.
Cold at night.
Only that we couldn't stay longer!
The staff and service at Dar Assalama was warm, welcoming, professional, efficient and pitched just right, friendly without being intrusive. The rooms are a great size, the terrace is lovely, the breakfasts were tasty, the location is perfect and the staff are excellent. The price was good too! Would highly recommend this guest house if you are staying in Essaouira.
nothing special, maybe just a bit too humid (the towels didn't dry well overnight).
Great location, close to the souk but still very quiet. Extremely easy to find when arriving by bus. Very warm welcome from the staff and support for every need The breakfast on the terrace was great even if january, the quality was higher than usual moroccan breakfast in the riads. the space in the room was more than enough.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We were provided with helpful information as soon as we arrived, our room was lovely and breakfast every morning when we woke up late was divine. We were staying over new years and the sweet staff gave us a new year gift! I highly recommend this hotel.
Very friendly , helpful staff. Fantastic ambience and beautiful decor. Lovely roof terrace, good breakfasts
Friendly staff, fabulous food cooked for us by an open fire and great location in the Medina.
There was hair on the bed sheets. We noticed this at 11.00pm and therefore did not complain or highlight this during our stay. Only one mirror in our room and this being in the toilet which had very poor lighting. Because all staff were so friendly we felt bad mentioning any of this whilst we were there.
Okay location, helpful and friendly staff. We were upgraded. Breakfast was good.
In no particular order, all of below were excellent: The rooms The staff The breakfast The roof terrace The location We'd stay here again no problem !
The staff was extremely helpful. I had to catch an early bus at 6 am and breakfast was prepared at 5:30. I was also taken my bags to the bus.
Nice and clean rooms, very friendly personel, good position in mefina but quiet enaugh. Close to beach, nice roof terace with great view. It is possible to pay by credit cards.
Only staying one night
We managed to get a room here last minute during the music festival . Unfortunately for us they were booked out after that but Omar went out of his way to help us find somewhere else. The place is beautiful, stylish but understated and a very relaxed place to spend time. Omar is the supreme host, and makes you feel very much at home. We've stayed in a lot of places around Morocco and this is right up at the top of our list.
Best staff we have ever encountered. Always smiling and always willing to help. It was great coming "home" to them, in a peaceful environment after the hectic medina. They really are exceptional!! The riad itself is incredibly beautiful and luxurious while still clearly a previous glorious moroccan palace. The room has a TV, bathrobes, is beautifully decorated. We had a lovely terrace too. The communal terrace on the rooftop is great to look over the medina and for sunsets. even though it is a 1 minute walk from the most important sights in medina. Last but not least, the breakfast was the best i had in morocco. This riad really has everything you need in Essaouira. An excellent price quality option, we stayed at riads that were almost double as expensive but not half as good... Regards
Unfortunately, we were double booked but the accommodation looked really good .We were really looked after and given another Riad close by, a bit more basic and cheaper. This wasn't a problem and we were happy to oblige the change, as these things happen.
Everything was ok. Good location. Nice Atmosphere. Clean. HUGE AND GOOD BREACKFAST!!! Will come back soon!
It was very easy to find from the SupraTours bus stop. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was wonderful and quite a spread. The location was convenient and Omar gave us a helpful map when we arrived, which made it easy to navigate while we were there. It was a quiet, clean, relaxing stay.
Lovely Riad with kind and helpful staff. Breakfasts are lovely and it's very conveniently located.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and the best breakfast we had in any hotel in Morocco.
This was my first time to both Morocco and Essaouira and I could not have been more pleased with this beyond gorgeous riad. If only I had had more time here! I would definitely love to come back. It was located right off an easy to find major street, which was very helpful. Omar, the manager, was incredible. I can't be more complimentary about him -- he did everything possible to make my stay as a solo female traveler comfortable. He gave me directions, let me borrow an umbrella, hooked me up with a hammam and then actually went and argued with them when they overcharged me a tiny bit (!). We had some wonderful chats about his life in Morocco and his family. He is so lovely and sweet! I loved this riad and would recommend to anyone traveling to Essaouira.
