No alcohol (Bring your own)
Quiet, relaxed place to stay. Ideal start for exploring the High Atlas, trekking.

Honey bees in the tree outside, but we were relocated without fuss to a lower down room, still with views of the mountain, valley and stream.
Views and stream side location, hospitality of the staff, dinner, log fire, hotel correspondence prior to arrival

Wifi could have been better!
The location was great and the staff friendly and helpful. Dar Imlil was rustic and had a lot of charm. The food was great and good value too!

A great little hotel- good location in the middle of town with fantastic views of the mountain. We ate in as there were not a great choice of restaurants open and it was too cold to go out side and wander around- the food was delicious with plenty of it- all a surprise as there was no menu to order off. Would thoroughly recommend Dar Imlil as long as you are looking for genuine Marroccean hospitality and not a 5 star hotel.

The food was indifferent and, for the price, should be improved by providing high quality Moroccan dinner and breakfast.
Warm welcome, comfortable bedroom, fine position for views and walks, warm fire in the lounge area.

Staff could be more outgoing and conversant.

Wifi signal is not that good from the room.

Food was OK - not great but OK. Due to it being winter there was a limited number of options to eat out, but that was just the time of year.

I am sure there are modern hotels that have all kinds of technology in the rooms, that other people will say are better then this hotel, but the reality is this is a traditional Moroccan hotel in an amazing location that the staff make really special. After spending time in Marrakech and Ait Ben Haddou, this is an amazing contrast. You do not get hassled, you are treated like gods and the location takes your breath away. Our rooms were huge, had comfy and warm beds, with great views. The food is better than any other meal we ate in Morocco (we went to some 5* places). It is a set menu, but they can accommodate dietary requirements and offer this each time. They organised a car at the airport and the driver was brilliant. My Mum is not good with heights, so he drove at a good speed and proved what an amazing driver he really is (the roads are missing in places!) All in all, this is an amazing hotel and I would happily tell friends, family and complete strangers to stay here!

The common areas are, as usually in Morocco, pretty cold in winter time, but during the dinner the fireplace was on.
The location is stunning as well as the view we had from our beautiful room. The room has under floor heating and a balcony facing the mountains. We really enjoyed the hiking with Rashid, a local guide.

The mountain views. The free upgrade as the hotel was quiet. Very helpful Hassan.

If you're expecting a Hotel then don't stay here as this is like a home. And the journey getting there is quite windy and long.
The views are amazing from this Riad. It is a homely place with friendly staff in a traditional village. You realise you're in a real Moroccan situation The food was really good too and we had a lot of fun! Ideal for hikers

Percolator had leftover stinky milk in it.
Wonderful staff, great food, great rooms and lovely place.

location, mountain view, helpful staff, tasty dinner,

Everything in room and hotel old or 'rustic' but not comfortable. Curtains had holes in them and stains. Running the gauntlet in the village.
Some good views, especially at night with the full moon. Small pool for cooling off.

Lovely room with great views from the balcony. Excellent meals. Friendly staff.

It's location, but the best part is the service, Hassan and the rest of his colleagues played the best part to make the place exclusive to every guest!! Amazing !

Only negative was the WiFi would cut in and out, and wasn't available in our room.
The staff were great! There was always someone around to answer any questions and assist when needed. They organised a great guide for us for a two day hiking trip to Jebel Toubkal, and put together a fantastic packed lunch. One of us has very specific food requirements because of a number of allergies. The hotel's kitchen made special request meals twice for us that were perfect. And the breakfasts were great - very tasty and lots of variety. In the mornings we'd come down to the nice quiet dining area and minutes later the coffee and bread and crepes would appear.

Imlil a bit of a culture shock to begin with but we soon embraced all including the butcher shop with meat and animals head hanging outside!
The mule trek to berber village through the mountains and the hike with guide to adjacent berber villages. We particularly liked the locals on their mules through the village daily.

Good base for walks and discovering the Atlas mountains. Nice views from the room. The ground floor rooms are basic but nice and comfortable. Dinner was lovely and staff helpful and friendly
April 24, 2014
The staff could not be more helpful in looking after us and arranging guides and Mules to help us explore the mountains and nearby Berber villages.

We booked a superior room but were disappointed for the price. The room was very basic and we soon discovered our sheets hadn't been changed or floors cleaned. The only toiletries provided was shampoo and this remained empty throughout our stay. For the price we would have expected the wow factor which we didn't get. Outside our room there were a huge amount of wasps which meant we couldn't sit out and nobody seemed too bothered to deal with them. The service was abrupt at times and we felt we had to ask for everything rather than the manager check if we needed anything. Overall an average place to stay that is overpriced.
The location of this riad is excellent and the quality of food was really good, especially the evening meal. The organisation of the taxi and the trek was good too.

Waking up to the sound of the mountain stream, with the sub glistening off the snow-capped summit of the highest mountain in Africa. And with all the comforts you would expect of a five-star hotel....
