We had a lovely time staying at Kamal Chaoui for two days! Kamal told us much about Bhalil and gave us a great tour! The people in Bhalil were very friendly and hospitable. And Naima, she is a fantastic cook. I really recommendate KamalChaoui if you want a cosy and warm moroccan lodging!

Lovely comfortable house, delicious home cooked food (some of the best in Morocco!) and very reasonable price. Best of all was the excellent (free) guided tour with Kamal which gave us a privileged insight into village life. Felt like we were staying with friends.

Kamal and Naïma are very friendly staff. With a lot of attention for their guests. Kamal, very good English speaking, was not only the host of the hotel, but also a guide in the village Bhalil (knowing, and introducing you to, a lot of citizans), committed to his surroudings (people and nature) and a (critical) source of information about Marocco (also knowing European life). The food was very tastful and various, well prepared by Naïma. We enjoyed the hot water bottle in our beds! The area of Bhalil is beautiful and very nice for walking.

The prices (stay and mainly the food) aren't low. According to European standards OK, if you compare it to Maroccan prices higher. Though not an obstacle, in our view, if you include all the extra guiding and attention.

Excellent owner... Speaks fluent English and French. Very helpfull and interesting person. Diner was the most expensive we ate in Morocco but also the best! Naïma is a super cook!!!! The tagine and the chocolate mousse were impressive. This is a place to get away from it all. Bhalil is a rural, quite town at the foot of the Atlas mountains. Good place to start a tour or to do excursions from.

Ride from the airport and the dinner were rather pricey, buit the overall qualitiy made up for that.

The traditional Maroccan decoration of the rooms, the service of the host, the traditional way of cooking, the village where it was located.

I liked the view, the quietness, the hospitality, the cleaness, the cooking of Nahima and mainly the breakfast.

The management and staff were tremendous, and provided an authentic experience of Morocco. The Kamalchaoui embodies Moroccan hospitality, and provides fantastic views of the village of Bahlil as well as Fez in the distance. The food prepared was exceptional, and was served in a very convivial family atmosphere with other guests. While our stay was brief, the area around Bahlil is spectacular, and well worth exploring. Within striking distance of Fes, Azrou, Ifrane and Meknes (by car) the location is ideal to experience these locations without being caught in the bustle - a great getaway location.
