We were 110% content with our stay at La Bague de Kenza. You really can't go wrong with choosing this Riad. It was a great value for such high quality and we really didn't have a single problem, except having to leave! The staff were extremely helpful and spoke both English and Spanish. We had an exquisite breakfast every morning on the terrace with some of the best coffee and food we had in Morocco, the views were spectacular, and the location was perfect. The Riad was cozy, quiet, and offered us with everything we needed. We had dinner there as well, everything was delicious. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Fez, and look forward to seeing Rashid, Edna and everyone again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Beautiful Dar, nice staff very good tajine and breakfast on the terrace.
kind of cold for the winter, they give you a heater and lots of blankets which help a bit.
The boss of the hostel was unfriendly and agressive. He consiousely made some guest can't meet their driver and didn't let the driver contact them sothat they almost missed the flight. He had done that because of the provision obviously. He talks to guests in threatening tone. The Hostel charge definitly too much for meals and serve the cold meals after having let the guest waited for it for two hours. I was very disappointed with the highly ranked score at booking.com.
helpfulness of staff location comfort rooftop terrace arranged for a great driver for tour of Meknes & Volobilis
This traditional riad is amazing, fully decorated of colourful zellij and wood cravings. The roof top terrace offers a wonderful view of the old medina. The shared room and bathroom are really very nice and clean. The staff is SO KIND and lovely, they really love their job and want to make you feel at home, always asking if you need something. For the second night Edna and Idriss were pleased to make me sleep in a beautiful room and to share a delicious dinner with me: Fatima Zohra is an excellent cook...try her couscous!!! I felt like a princess! Thank you so much Edna, Idriss, Imane, Rachid and Fatima Zohra!
This Riad is an exceptional experience. Its owners have done an amazing job to restore this tipical house inside the Medina. It is full of history like it is life by itself. You travel back in time but with all the comodities of this century! Its location is excellent!! You cant get lost, which is VERY important thing in ancient Fez. MOST IMPORTANT: people inside! They are nice, helpful, happy and ready for you all the time! Idris, Edna, Rachid, Imane and FatimSarah are just AMAZING! Best Tagine and breakfast! And the TEA!!! SUPERRRRR
All was perfect! :)
This is a family Riad- comfortable and friendly. We stayed 3 nights and ate there each night- food and service was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful- including a useful welcome email before we arrived and sending on a package I left in the room. The Riad is out of the centre of the medina so quiet and easy to find.
Nothing- it was very nice and good value for money- a perfect base to explore Fez.
The staff made us both very welcome. Rashid collected from the taxi drop off place so finding the Riad was not a worry, Edna spoke perfect English, the other two staff members are both considerate. Many thanks for the honey & lemon drink. Also took the half day tour, BRILLIANT! Very clean Riad.
shower is slow to drain but it is a very old city!
Located in the middle of the Medina. Very nice house with a great terrace where you can enjoy an amazing view over Fes. The dinner was very delicious, one of the best Tajines we enjoyed in Marocco! Many thanks to Rajid for the organisation and finding my sunglasses ;-) We definitely recommend this nice Riad!!
Great location in the Medina, one of the highest and most beautiful terraces of Fes, good food, very nice room but above all, the personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. Great hospitality. We would definately recommend this one!
Wifi only downstairs so not in the rooms, limited knowledge of english amongst personnel
If you are traveling to Fes for the first time, this is the Riad you want to book. Great hospitality, food, accommodation and helpful staff made us feel at home and relaxed after a long trip. I highly recommend Dar La Bague De Kenza because they will make your stay in Fes extra special.
Good and very clean in the room. Nice terrace where you can over look the whole medina.
wifi doesn't work It's really hard to find this place as it's inside the medina and it's located very far from the blue gate where the centre is.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. They picked us up from the parking and brought us to the riad, the day after they walked us to the leather fabric. Riad is nicely decorated, room is relatively small but confortable
No wi-fi in the room
The room was very comfortable. Very obliging staff.
The credit card payment facilities were unavailable, and with no itemised bill it was embarrassing and difficult when settling up. I would have enjoyed it so much more if I had easier access to the riad without having to ring or knock. Misleading web site promising complimentary toiletries and bathrobe. Luckily I came prepared. Photographs flatter!
Location, staff, attention to detail. Bear that name in mind: Munir!
Patchy Briadband Internet
The hospitality and helpfulness of the stuff is remarkable! I was contacted by the lovely receptionist lady a week before my arrival and they gave me advice about the directions, and when I arrived to the old city the manager came to the taxi drop of point and he guided me to the Riad. The interior of the Riad is beautifully, the rooftop offers a great view over the city and opportunity for relaxation. The breakfast is nice and plenty. I have also tried an extra dinner which was delicious but a bit small portion for me. After my arrival the manager offered me guided tours within and around the city with an official guide. I was hesitating at the beginning but after a quick walk in the labyrinth city I decided to take his offer. I have chosen the half day tour which took approx. 3 hours with an experienced guide and I rally enjoyed it. It saved me lot of time and hustle and I was able to see most of the attractions. The staff told me lot of stories about themselves and about the life in Morocco that I really enjoyed. Definitely recommended place!
The sink in the shower drains the water quite slow.
I felt weird, because the personnel really overdid with being friendly in a way that was almost submissive....
A free upgrade to suite w balcony and great scene.
Perfect location, very friendly personnel, great breakfast, beautiful view from roof-top terrace
Price quite high, only one room has heating (nice during winter nights), rooms are a bit noisy.
We liked the tasty and abundant breakfast on the sunny roof of the riad, with a marvellous view on the medina. The staff, especially Chaimae and Mourad, were extremely kind and helpful. Sitting in the riad's court yard, drinking thé à la menthe and talking with the staff or other guests became a pleasant custom during our four-days-stay in Fes. The atmosphere was almost familylike.
In the first days of January, the rooms can become quite cold. However, while we were in the riad, new electric stoves were bought and fitted into our two rooms.
staff have been really helpful for us. They picked us up at the bus station very early in the morning.
the bath room is a little small
wifi in terrace staff is so nice, especialy Mr. Morad from maracash who worked in the hotel, he help us a lot .like when we arrived late at evening and he went out to buy bread for us for diner... he's such a kind and hard working people
the hotel is hard to find
The staff were very welcoming and hospitable and we appreciated greatly having a guide on the first day to help us walk around the medina in the evening.
The hotel is located in a renovated and richly decorated historical building, has a richly decorated Moroccan interior and offers a great roof-top terrace view. Room has condition/heating that was useful.
Beware additional services offered by a guy in the hotel. If he offers to show a "cheap" restaurant or call a taxi, be sure that the significant interest will be added to the price. If you need something, we would suggest to refer to the girl in the reception - she was really nice and helpful.
