Boasting a superb view over the medina and situated in the heart of Essaouira's historic centre, this enchanting guest house is set around a luminous patio, which leads to a Moroccan living room.
Score from 320 reviews Very good
We enjoyed the one night we spent there. The room was clean and cozy. The people were very helpful
Nice decoration. Nice breakfast. Very friendly owner (man).
The owner (male) was very nice and friendly, can't really say the same about the rest of the staff though.
Our room smelt a bit damp and had a cockroach in it.
A lovely riad right in the heart of the medina. Fantastic hosts with a wonderful breakfast. Really enjoyed soaking up the ambience on the roof terrace after sunset.
The owners of this place are amazing! We booked a room at this hotel while searching for a long term rental in Essaouira, and George and Latifa went out of their way to help us with this difficult task. George spent his entire day with us looking at apartments and his wife Latifa made calls and looked online. The room we stayed in was very clean and full of light. A great breakfast is served at the common table downstairs.
Very nice place! I definitely recommend it! We stayed in a very nice room with moroccan decorating. The breakfast is very big and delicious. The location is great in the middle of the old town.
George,he is a great character! Great location and very good breakfast.
loud phone conversations from private quarters late evening but that could be because our room was directly over the kitchen, even so needs to be addressed.
Very friendly host, great location, cosy and well designed rooms.
All rooms have shared bathroom with another 1 room. But it didn't make a big problem.
Owners were lovely and very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. View from the terrace is great.
Really nice staff, great location (easy to find without a guide and very close to the main square). Rooms are small but clean, with private bathroom. There's a nice little garden in the middle of rijad where you can have breakfast or just hang out. Overall, great place.
Wifi only worked outside of the room.
Perfect location - in the medina but down a quiet laneway. Helpful staff. Good value for the price.
Breakfast is fine, but a lot of bread, as seems to be standard in Morocco.
Great place, a bit hidden at first but right in the middle of the old town. The map they send you is useless, take the little alley where Bob's Music is located. It is a very nicely made hotel with huge and lovely rooms, shared bathroom clean and a laid back french guy and his surfing young companion keeping you entertained. The breakfast is good too.
The alley the place is located in is dark-ish and cats bring fish heads in to consume later. But this is me being harsh, you will soon forget the alley once inside the hotel
Great owners and staff, very informative and helpful. Felt like home!
Everyone at Dar Lategio was very helpful and friendly. Our room was changed at some inconvenience to the owners butt they didn't make it seem any trouble at all. Breakfast was plentiful. There was always hot water for showers. The Riad is right in the centre of the Medina down a quiet street (easy to find)
Noise travels easily in the Riad and is amplified. This in general is not a problem as guests were respectful of each other and mindful of closing doors and quieting their over exuberant children !!
Excellent care and advice from management! Lots of advise about area and where to eat were helpful.
The hotel was just great. Very good position, clean and disponible staff. Also owner is funny and make this place a good hotel to stay :) Brekfast very good.
Very central yet quiet location with super helpful owner.
Nothing really , it was all very nice!
I stayed in two different rooms. They where both, good and clean rooms. The location is very good, never far to walk to the restaurants at night. Save place, no problem walking around at night. The owners are very friendly. Shame I have not met the husband. After all the reviews, I was curios!!
The share bath room had very strong smell, I stayed 4 days. And the smell was always their. Maybe some bleach would help.
George was very friendly and helpful, and gave us maps, directions and tips for our stay. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Great value for the price we paid.
We had a bit of trouble finding it, but that might just be my map reading skills.. The bathroom looked clean enough but smelled awful.
the riad is great. The decoration of room is morden with very good taste. The breakfirst is wonderful. You can see the atlantic on the terrace. The service is pretty impresive
Bteakfast good, location too..
Very nice Riad! Especially the personal was very nice to us, gave us a map and tips where to eat and what to see.
The owner was a real character, and really helpful in recommending restaurants and places of interest. Just a pity though that the staff couldn't speak or understand a word of English. The decor was extremely tasteful, and generally the place was very clean. It would have been nicer if there was a lounge to use, apart from the rooftop terrace.
The owner made us very welcome when we arrived and explained the hotel and it's amenities. He also gave us a great overview of what to do in Essaouira. The breakfast, rooms, terrace, and the hotel in general were delightful.
