I liked the location - the hotel is situated in the medina, it has the characteristics of the city. The staff are great and helpful, I loved our breakfast on the roof terasse, we went in August - there wasn't any AC, but we didn't mind, however if you can't handle 38c without AC it could become an issue.

Honestly there wasn't any issues so I will be making things up,

Dar Lbakal is right in the medina with a fantastic view from the roof terrace.

Aircondition was not working and all attempts to fix it failed. Breakfast was the poorest we ever had in Morocco and we have been 15 times. Were not given back passports when we checked out; realised only an hours drive away and had to return. Credit card machine was broken therefore cash only. First hotel in Morocco we would never return to.

Really cute hotel, great location, with gorgeous terrace. Nice staff, particularly Abdul. Great for traveling on a budget.

Finding the hotel can be stressful, and a random "helpful" local demanded the equivalent of $20 for helping us do so. Hotel asked us to pay in cash, even though they clearly would have deducted our deposit via credit card had we not shown up.

Great to stay within the Chefchouen medina! Staff was pleasant and the roof top terrace is great.

Our room smelled quite bad, and the bathroom smelled even worse. Blankets were quite musty and room was quite cold. We did not enjoy staying in this hotel.

Beautiful location, friendly staff. Good breakfast on gorgeous roofdeck. A lot of care has gone into decorating the rooms. A word of caution on getting there - it is right in the medina, requires about a 5-7 minute walk from where a car can leave you up many many stairs with your luggage.

Noisy at night but this would be the case anywhere in the medina I think

Excellent location, pretty hotel with ery kind and helpful staff.

Noisy during the night but this must be the case for all hotels located in the center.
