The place is authentic and the staff is great and welcoming, Latifa and Muhammad made our stay in Fes more convenient, they explained everything. The place is near Blue Gate, well-signed path. Overall fantastic 4 rooms Dar.
The shower and bathroom are tricky, but this is an old city and ancient house...
Staff exceptionally helpful.
Need comfortable chairs on terrace
Mohamed is the most helpful guy ever. Service was perfect, food delicious. We will be back there soon :-)
The personnell was very helpful and spoke perfect English. We felt very much at home here and enjoyed the great mint tea. Breakfast was also great. It's convenient location within the medina, but not too far inside, makes it relatively easy to find (at least for a riad in the Medina & they do have signs advising the Way) and a good base for exploring the Medina.
The only negative point I can think of were the beds. We definitely had more comfortable mattresses in the Otter Riads we were staying at. Apart from that, however, everything was perfect.
The location is excellent, very close to Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate). The breakfast was the best we had in Morocco, fresh pastry included every day. The riad is clean and has beautiful Moroccan style decorations. The staff, Latifa and Mohamed, are great hosts, kind and extremely helpful. We had a great time chatting and laughing with them. Thank you again, guys :)
Great staff - very helpful, nice cosy rooms, cool terrace. We love this place.
Mohamed and Latifa are very nice and helpful.
Staff, location and breakfast
All was fine
The staff was amazing! It really felt we were at home,so familiar , clean and well decorated! Mohamed and Latifa were the friendless staff we could find! We dinner there , it was food with quality , tastefull tagine! I will definatelly recomend! Its very well located, right in the entrance of the medina, but without noise! We will be back !
Latifa and Mohamed are so kind and helpful, we had some time together talking about our cultures, places to visit, gastronomy, etc They are easy going and respectful, and we enjoyed a lot those late evening talks :) The Riad is peaceful, with a great atmosphere and location is excellent. We enjoyed the terrace while having breakfast and specially dinner.
Nothing to complain about, but a couple of points to be improved: the shower (pression and temperature regulator not working as expected) and wifi (not wifi signal inside the room at the 2nd floor).
Excellent location and services. Latifa (responsible in the hotel) very helpful and kind.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great food, very clean, amazing location! Highly recommended!
Small washroom with awkward layout.
Amazing staff, very clean, great location, delicious food! Highly recommend it!
The bathrooms are quite small with an unusual layout - very different than European/American showers!
Location, the terrace, breakfast and good quality-price in general.
The insistence of the staff to go with them to a public Hamman paying a very high price on it, despite what they said. A completely dispensable and not recommended experience. Unfortunately, this made us feel cheated.
Everything is good！ Latifa is really good person！
I liked everything. Specially the nice treat from the staff. You feel almost like someone famous. They are so so helpful and familiar. Latifa took me to a Hammam. It was a beautiful experience. And Mohamed was after every detail, so helpful...The nicest breakfast and dinner in the terrace with superbe views. I,ll go back for sure.
Dar Mehdi was the perfect place to stay for a couple of nights. The staff (Mohammed and Latifa) were more than welcoming and we on hand to help us with anything. The breakfast was better than I had expected and the location is also perfect - we had been in riads in other cities where we got lost finding it. This was not the case with Dar Mehdi; it was easy to find and meant we could come back to the riad for a break in the heat..perfect!
Muhamad and Latifa helped us a lot!! We had a perfect time together at dar MEHDI.They are now just like our family. They took us to the Hamam, it was a great experience.. Also they arrange for us 2 days travel to desert, it was amazing because latifa go with us and made our travel easier and exciting. Especially our child ''Rui" he likes the Riad because they took very good care of him.
Nothing, every thing was perfect to experience the Medina.
i loved their breakfast, the staff was warm friendly and helpful.
very few English speaking channels on their Satelite television.
Loved the location close to the main entrance to the Medina. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I wanted to spend some down time and just relax and totally loved my stay.
- The room was good larger than expected. - The staff tried their best to be friendly. - The staff were reachable anytime of the day and they're helpful when we aproached them and even washed our laundry free of charge. Overall, our weeklong stay was not bad, but the negative points have to be improved.
- The friendliness of the staff was pleasant the first two days but then it turned into unprofessional and private questions and remarks (such as about my religion, my marital status, and the products I used, which they had seen when cleaning the room etc.). Each time upon leaving or entering the hotel, they came to us for a social conversation. This made me feel that I am not in a hotel but with my own family (as if they need a report on my plans and experiences). Clearly, there was no sense of privacy. - Bathroom was very small and smelled of fungus: I saw one cockroach in the bathroom at night. - The sink broke down at night (but was repaired quickly the next day).
The people running this place are amazing! A must stay in Fez.
The bathroom was small with a funky setup - but functional.
Dar mehdi and its staff was by far the best experience we had in morocco. Mohammed and Latifa went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were such incredible hosts! Even better, we came as guests and left as friends, frankly we couldnt ask for more. Please do try their dinners or lunches, they are extremely gd value and is a showcase of tasty moroccan cuisine. Thanks so much latifa and mohammed for making our trip to fes such a highlight, we hope to see you soon again!!!
Great in every aspects, but the staff worth a special note: very, very kind and good willing.
Good location. They let me check-in early in the morning.
Bathroom was small and it was hard to take a shower. Breakfast was not great. I didn't feel welcomed by the staff.
