Fes is beautiful, though overwhelming: once you get in the riad you would expect a pause from the sellers. On a contrary, expect a show from Lhamia and her help: they would insist to clean your room in front of you, even though they have the key and they will call you from your room to ask you if you need a tea, a coffee- which will prove in the end to be overpriced: we payed between 12 and 16 dirham for a tea for both everywhere in the Medina, still they asked us 20 in the very last day- including probably the tip, even if we tipped them every day for breakfast (between 7 and 10 dirham-which probably was not enough). First we thought they are just over-friendly and we closed our eyes to the dirty cups of coffee (we stayed three days and they were always dirty-no accident) and the plumbing problems in the bathroom. But in the end we just felt like a bag of money: like for every smile and little thing like leaving your luggage for a few hours (which was no problem in the other riads) you will have to pay, otherwise you will observe Lhamia becomes nervous. The very last experience with them just left us a bad taste.
The terrace has indeed an incredible view over the Medina. Rashid was nice and friendly and his suggestions of visiting the labyrinth of Fes were very helpful.
