Sue and Sahid are there for everything
No tv in the room but, when you are in the intense Tangier medina, who needs to watch the tele?
- great marrocaine breakfast in the terrasse - Boss interested to know our opinion about breakfast and comparing with other riads. Very friendly boss. - great location and neighbours help to reach the riad - possible to keep baggage after checkout
- gave the invoice to us while we were having breakfast...and because we have no free hands he put it u der bread bowl. - toilet separed only by a courtain to the bedroom.
Beautiful terrace, fantastic rooms and delicious breakfast every day. Sue and Said are fantastic hosts - they will do everything they can to help you. We were so happy we stayed a week, we really got to know the place and the locals and had a great time. Tangiers is really worth visiting itself - not just for a stopover. Everything listed on the information page is exactly what you will find and more.
We were taken care of in all ways. Sue and Said treated us like familymembers. We recommend all of you if you will visit Tanger to stay at Dar Nakhla Naciria. Very good breakfast on the roofterrace with a stunning view over Tanger and the ocean. Without Sue and her personal we would be lost. Thank you so much! Per and Petra from Stockholm, Sweden
First off, you won't find an owner like Sue at other hotels in Tangier. She's spunky and eccentric and will welcome you into her hotel like an old friend. We especially enjoyed the numerous chats we had on the rooftop terrace. Sue generously showed us some of her favourite shops and restaurants in the medina, and offered invaluable insights into the cultural history of the area. There's a reason other reviewers here have affectionately refered to her as the "Mayor of the Medina". The hotel itself has a great location and is teeming with character. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and eating breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a great view of the Mediterranean each morning was a real treat. Stay here to truly get a feel for what life in the old city is like.
We found the bed quite hard (a little too hard), but we understand that's a matter of personal preference. The internet connection was fast in the room for surfing webpages and even streaming Netflix, but for some reason Skype and FaceTime connections were never solid.
The hospitality and feel of the place.
This a small maison d'hote right in the medina and about a 10-minute walk from the Tarifa ferry port. The rooms are very comfortable, and there are lovely lounge areas on each floor. The breakfast is served on the upstairs terrace that has a great view across the medina and out onto the Atlantic. The owner (Sue) is very helpful and provides a great orientation to the medina layout.
Nothing to dislike. The access through the medina is a bit tricky, but we were sent a map.
Sue, the manager was very helpful and gracious. I was a bit ill and she was very solicitous. Her recommendation of s Guide, Mohammed was superb. I learned a lot from him. Love the style of decorating.View from roof terrace amazing. All in all a great stay. The y also got me to the airport in plenty of time for my flight.
Missed having an egg for breakfast but then I didn't ask!
what's not to like? we were made to feel at home. from the welcome mint tea upon arrival, eager assistance by staff with every want and need, sage advice and directions for sightseeing, and beautiful rooftop terrace view for meals or just plain soaking it all in, we were disappointed to depart. superb!
We loved amost everything. Sue was really helpful every time we need it, She also found us Mohamed, a perfect guide to see and discover the best parts of the city.
Excellent central medina location but easy to find. Sue and Said were lovely and welcoming, informative and fun. Room was small but cute and perfectly serviceable. Breakfast on the roof terrace was too nice to cut short - difficult to leave!
Sue was the perfect host, giving us guidance in all aspects including restaurants and guides. Her cheerful demeanor was welcomed after returning from the rigors of the Medina. Breakfast on the rooftop was an excellent way to chill out.
Very Friendly and interesting owners. Excellent breakfast! Very comfortable room. Well located.
Sue and her staff and friends were there to help us with whatever we needed, which was usually directions on where to go and how to find our way back again. Staying in the medina isn't for everyone, but it was exactly what we wanted. Hanging out on the rooftop terrace was enchanting.
Moroccan beds are all very hard and because of the design of the home, you must be able to handle stairs.
Before we started we felt at home, because Sue gave us very helpful directions and in Tangier she continued it. The location is central, but quite, excellent evening and morning on the roofterasse. An excellent breakfast with fresh fruit was a good start into the day. We enjoied our only one day stay very much and the next time we would stay longer, because such a warm and welcoming atmosphere is the best start on a vacation - thank you Sue and all the helping hands!!
Without a doubt, owner Sue is what gives this place its charm. If you want to stay in a riad with western comfort and a great location in the medina, this is the place. Good breakfast and a roof terrace with a view. There's a lot of room for improvement and I'm sure this Riad will only get better.
The lock on the room downstairs doesn't really work (you can still open the doors if you try). The place is quite new and you can feel this. It still needs some more decoration, it felt a bit cold and plain. The fluorescent light on the nightstand next to the bed is horrid.
Sue was a generous host taking us to recommended cafes shops etc. We enjoyed interesting chats and tea on her atmospheric roof top.... Great for an authentic stay in Medina of Tangiers!
Sometimes Morocco can be a bit rough and staying at this riad seriously felt like a haven such beautiful rooms and common areas. I was greeted with smiles and open arms and felt so welcomed, i can't thank Sue and Said enough, ridiculously helpful and it was a pleasure having a yarn with a fellow Aussie.
We definitely enjoyed our stay in Dar Nakhla Naciria. This was mainly thanks to the incredibly nice and welcoming hosts Sue and Said. They helped us with organising our day trips to different beaches and gave useful tips regarding the life in Tangier. Besides the homely accomodation the location was great in the centre of the medina. Sue even gave us a short trip around the medina and showed us the most important sights and places in Tangier.
There is actually nothing to critize and we can totally recommend this hotel. Everything just perfect!
We were met from our taxi as the riad itself is a little hard to find first time. The owners of the riad were extremely helpful and friendly. Sue showed us around Tangier briefly and was lovely to chat to. I couldn't recommend this place more!
good location, very clean and beautiful house, nice terrasse and remarcable warm welcome. Thank you Sue, it has been a pleasure to chat with you!
A small riad with very nice owners. The balcony where breakfast is served have a nice view. The place is clean and beautiful.
No door to the bathroom, just a curtain. A very small room. We booked it for two persons, but it really was a one man room. We only stayed over night, so then it works, but for a longer stay you should probably look for either another place or one of the bigger rooms, if you are two.
Sue was great. We went to fez from tangier, and even though we weren't staying at her hotel when we came back she still was kind enough to look after our stuff for us, also she gave us the run down on what the real prices are so we didn't end up paying the sucker tourist prices. All in all, the perfect first stop in Morocco
Well if I was gonna be picky, I'd say the toilet seat was a little annoying
Very traditional! Breakfast was amazing and delicious, owners of hotel were lovely! Very clean!
We arrived with the intention of staying 2 nights and ended up staying for 4 - that says it all really...we just didn't want to leave! This is a superb Riad which has been beautifully restored to retain its best features. The hospitality was fantastic. On arrival, Said gave us a walking tour of the locality so that we could get our bearings. The location of the Riad is excellent - situated between the grand and petite socco. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. As for food, breakfast on the roof terrace was delicious. My husband availed of a cooking lesson whilst there with Islan (the Cook) - the mouth-watering results were devoured for our evening meal. The most special thing of all about this Riad is Sue, the proprietor/hostess. She contacted us prior to arrival with directions, was a wealth of knowledge on the region and was fantastic company during our stay. We are already looking forward to our next visit and cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Loved it all.
