James and his wife were great hosts and were really helpful. The riad was lovely and our room was very homely. The breakfast was great made from fresh local produce. A perfect place to stay.

Our stay at Dar Ness was perfect, the staff is extremely helpful and made us feel like at home. This riad is beatifully decorated, clean and on a perfect location. I've enjoyed the tea by the fireplace at nights very much.

That I only stayed 2 nights, I would definitely go back.

Cosy fireplace, Wi-Fi available and excellent location near the beach and heart of the Medina. Our host Brahim was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was nice on the terrace although we did feel somewhat guilty when we realised the female chef(?) had climbed all three storeys to get it to us(!)

No air-con and noise of seagulls through the night did not lend for a great sleep, but what do you expect when on the door step of such a beautiful seaside?

a very traditonal homely riad . chose this riad for this reason instead of a boutique type riad . staff excellent - nothing was too much trouble .Owner James friendly and very personable . Would thoroughly recommend Dar Ness - excellent .

Location was close to everything, staff and management were superb, free run of kitchen for tea and coffees really appreciated.

Beautiful riad, perfect location. The reception is very nice with tea, a fire place. You feel immediately at home. The breakfast is also very nice.

In wintertime, the room is very chilly.

Staff knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Special mention to Ali who will share local knowledge with the traveler and can be fully relayed on. Atmosphere and great taste in the decors, I believe that is due to Elisabeth's influence. She doesn't only run a tight ship but she does that gracefully and with an always present ironic and warm smile. Great continental breakfast.

Great experience, haven't disliked anything during my stay at Dar Ness. Will possibly come back at some point.

Dar Ness is a very peaceful, clean with very co operative and helpful staff. Rooms are very tidy and spacious, the absence of tv was a godsend, in breaking my 2 sons away and getting them into watersport activities. Initially I had booked only 2 rooms, but as the rooms were very affordable, my sons ended up having there own rooms. Location within the Medina is very convenient to the beaches and plaza. Proprieter James Desforges, was very helpful to arrange at best prices, transport to and from Marracesh airport, excursions etc. and helpful advice. A very personable person to engage in conversation. I highly recommend the Dar Ness, to anyone looking for a well kept, beautiful, secure and peaceful base whilst visiting Essaouira

The staff was extremely friendly and James was super helpful! He set us up with a great taxi and driver to take us to Casablanca and all of his recommendations were great! Reading in the sun on the terrace was lovely and the rooms were nicely appointed. The communal fire place room was so cozy. Great location!

Just used this hotel for an overnight stay. Extremely convenient position in Essaouira. We found it without difficulty. Close to sea front and medina. Staff spoke English and were very helpful.Has been nicely maintained and had a roof terrace from which there was a partial sea view. Provided good accommodation for a very reasonable price.

Dar Ness is almost adjacent to a Mosque so if you need a peaceful night this will not suit you. You must expect the 'call to prayer' at around 4am to disturb your sleep. For us, this was all part of soaking up the Morrocan culture and atmosphere.

The staff are professional and kind. The hotel is clean, well placed in the centre, easy to find and very calm. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Easy location, hard to get lost. Multilingual hosts who gave local advice. Beautiful small riad with comfortable room, rooftop terrace etc., even a small library and stereo. Good breakfast.

Darrow Ness was a delightful, relaxing riad experience. Breakfast was very nice especially up on the terrace.

Beautiful building, right on edge of medina main square, port and beach. We booked cheaper room but got room upgrade when we got there as nicer room was free. Lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. Nice reading room for windier/cooler days. Quiet and peaceful at night. Gave a good recommendation for local Moroccan restaurant.

No air conditioning or fan so will be too hot in the summer unless there's a very cool breeze! Also you don't get a key to the front door so have to knock every time you want to go back to your room.

This is a fantastic guest house. Really tranquil & relaxing considering the hive of activity just outside the huge door because it's brilliantly located inside the medina. It's traditional morroccan style but has an elegant french touch. The staff were brilliant & breakfast simply delish. Best nights hotel sleep ever in a comfortable bed & beautiful surroundings. Well done dar ness you're highly recommended & thank you for such an enjoyable stay.

Wunderschöne Kleinstadt in Marokko an der Atlantikküste! Super schönes Zimmer im Riad, schönes Haus mit Innenhof und Dachterasse. Würde gerne wieder kommen.
