This Riad is located in the south of Marrakesh's Medina, in the Kasbah district and 10 minutes from the Jemaa El Fna. It offers rooms with private bathrooms.
Score from 57 reviews Wonderful
Situated a 10-minute walk from Jemaâ El Fna Square, this riad features air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool in the patio and a spa bath.
Score from 271 reviews Excellent
MonRiad is in Marrakech’s medina (historic quarter), a 5-minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square. It has rooms, a traditional lounge and patio, and a plunge pool. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Score from 230 reviews Excellent
In Marrakesh’s souks (markets), this riad is just a 5 minute walk from Jamaâ el Fna Square. You can relax in the outdoor swimming pool or sit on the rooftop terrace and admire the views of the city.
Score from 130 reviews Very good
Great to be in the heart of the old city. We got lost a lot but that was part of the fun. We also had the use of an upstairs terrace and the breakfast was good. Dinner was available If you ordered and was also very good. Enough room for 4 adults easily.
You would find it hard if you had a lot of luggage. Car access was a little wY away.
Really beautiful riad in the medina, the roof terrace is also really nice. Staff friendly and very tasty breakfast.
Our room was on the ground floor and the sound isolation from the patio is really poor. It was very difficult to find the riad, we had finally to succumb to the help of a local.
Best mint tea of Marrakech! Nice position in the middle of the Medina, walking distance from most of the top spots. Very helpful staff.
Wifi not very reliable. Rooms are cold during winter time without a heater
Staying at Dar Ourika is one of the few pleasant things during our trip in Marrakech. They have super helpful staff, stylish decoration and wonderful breakfast! I miss this place although some of the local people left me poor impression about this so-called 'amazing' city.
Nothing actually. Location is a bit confusing? But I suppose this is the common problem when finding a riad in the Medina.
The riad is very nicely decorated and guests are well look after by excellent staffs. They speaks good English, good breakfast and always eager to help. Excellent value for money and close to the main square
The biggest problem is finding the riad as it is located inside the madina. Be careful if someone shows or offer help to find direction to the riad as they will demand money and if you don't pay them to their satisfaction they become aggressive. This has nothing to do with riad as we enjoyed our stay except finding the place at night.
Absolutely loved this place. Would highly recommend: - Staff were very friendly and helpful - Location was perfect - Cleanliness was excellent Photos online do not do this place justice - It is fantastic
Our suite was a visual treat & gave us privacy as travelling with teenage son but didn't want expense of separate rooms. It was great to order a cool beer & sit on private terrace after busy day sightseeing.
No fridge in room. Lighting poor in the toilet. Not best location for one night stay but ok if staying few nights & you have chance to get your bearings.
One of the best places I've stayed at,
Good location, close to lots of great restaurants
No curtain at bathroom room, meant that anyone using the corridor to get to the rooftop terrace, could see me naked in the shower & could even push window open & see me on the loo!!!
A real treat to stay in. Peaceful, quiet and a world away from the bustling streets of the medina. The facilities are excellent and the staff extremely helpful. I would recommend a stay here to anyone
The royal suite is an incredibly good deal for four people
The screaming wake-up parrots on the roof
Beautiful rooms, internal courtyard and roof terrace. Staff very helpful.
It is virtually impossible to find the first time. Make sure you take a taxi driver who will walk you to the door to avoid problems with the local guides in the souks.
Very nice staff. Excelent location and a safe place. Nice swimming pool. Have dinner in Riad is a nice option because they cooked an excelent meal (I advice tajine). We enjoy very much.
One guy doesn't speak english.
This riad is very beautifull, it's like oasis in the city with fresh patio, singing birds and silence. The staff is very welcoming, very helpful. They made us early breakfast and early coffee at 5.00 am when we needed. They ordered us a taxi and took us to take it, but we had to pay for the taxi 200dh (it the airport it costs 100 (if they don´t cheat you :) ). So, in general it was ok. Staff was very nice!! They acceps as cash as card. Hope my review helped you:)
This riad it's impossible to find by map o gps, there are not this small streets-labirints on the map, so first time you have to pay simeone to take you there (but be carefull there are a lots of guides which will make you go a lots of circles around to take more money from you, so it's better to come maximum close to the place by gps or map and then ask someome in the market better not a child to show you the way). We had a room one ground floor, and our door and windows went to the patio. We didn't have any privacy at all, if you are in the toilet all people in the patio can hear absolutely every sound you make... The room was very nice, shower worked good. But in the room was strong smell of cat's (which lives there) pees, especially near the bed...
the riad was well located and rather nicely decorated.
the staff was not very helpful and not very nice (I got yelled at because I came 5 mins too late for my taxi to the airport - which had been overcharged anyway). also, wifi only works in the central area, which is very dark. finally be prepared to pay cash because we lost 30mins twice because the card machine didn't work (and again I was told itwas my fault and I should just walk 15mins on my own to the square to withdraw money)
From the moment we placed a booking, we received a personal email from Amine welcoming us and offering other assistance. The neighbourhood is very quiet and the locals on the main street near the Riad - who will definitely recognise you if you stay for more than a day - are friendly and eager to help. Felt safe here. The Riad itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable; good sized room, great beds, very hot water, air conditioning. Breakfast was cooked freshly each day and it was plentiful. Even when we had an early morning tour departure, breakfast was cooked and served well outside of the normal hours – as opposed to just a breakfast box being left out. Has a good sun roof and small plunge pool. Mohamed (night shift) and Aziz (day shift) were both patient and very helpful - providing directions, booking tours and answering questions. Both showed an interest in what we had done during our days and checked if we were ok – especially when one of us was unwell. At the end of our stay, after checking out of our room at the allocated time, we were then also welcome to leave our bags or in fact remain in the common area of the riad until a time much closer to our departure flight time. In reality, if you don’t get too distracted by all there is to see or lead a different way by one of the locals, the Riad is only a 10 minute walk to the souks and Jemaa el Fna; other major tourist attractions are a little further away but still all within easy walking distance of the Riad. Would definitely stay again.
Free WiFi was available, but service was intermittent.
Employees, Atmosphere, Air Conditioning ;-) Location in relationship to Medina.
Very well located, close to everything we wanted to do and see. People in the riad were always very kind and helpful, with special thanks to Mohamed, who has managed to change our first bad impression upon arrival. Linen and towels very clean, smelling good and snow white due to the hard work of the riad's personnel.
We arrived at the riad at early evening and in order to get there, we had to walk our way through the Medina, the path a bit dark, narrow and scary, but we were later assured by a French couple staying in the riad that there was no danger in the area. We stayed in the riad for 6 nights, however, they forgot our reservation for the last night when we came back from the desert and asked us to go to another riad as they had given our room to someone else. Later on, after some discussions, they realized that they had made a mistake and gave us a (very bad) room, with leaks in the bathroom making it almost impossible to use the toilet due to the amount of water on the floor. They tried to compensate it by giving us some gifts, paying the cab to the airport and cutting the night rate to the half.
This was a beautiful Riad that allowed you to escape to peace and tranquility while staying directly in the Medina a stones throw away from all the hustle and bustle of markets and Jemaa el Fna square etc Staff were always on hand and happy to help! We loved it here and would definitely come back to stay again.
Riad Dar Ourika is a beautiful traditional escape from the hustle and bustle of the historic Medina, which is literally a 5min walk away. It is quiet and tranquil and the staff are happy and always on hand when/ if you need them. Our room - Rabat - was lovely as was the daily breakfast served. The only issue I think was that the main shower head in our bathroom didn't work. Though I note that we didn't actually say anything about this because there was a small hand held shower head we could use and we were only there for 4 nights! For the price we paid this was a wonderful place to stay and a bargain - I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
We felt really safe and comfortable in the location and riad, the staff were all very friendly and it was absolutely a great value for money. Room was air-conditioned and the place had a fantastic living area and roof terrace. Thank you so much - we will come visit again soon hopefully!
Nothing! It was perfect.
Beautiful riad with nice small pool
We got the room at ground floor. The room, toilet, bed is too close to people who take a breakfast in the morning. It was really annoying for us even for them
Really pleasant place to stay. Room was comfortable and charming, the staff very very polite. We had a night porter Mohammed who was always in hand in the night if you are in need of anything.
It was a bit of labyrinth trying to find the Riad and was quite easy to get lost during your first day when your trying to get back during the night.
The woman at the desk was extremely helpful. We had our laundry done and a very nice dinner.
Our room (royal suite) was amazing, with its own little roof terrace and very high and ornate ceiling. Good breakfast with delicious pancakes.
The pool in the breakfast area is very cold and not that suitable for relaxing.
