This elegant riad is in the heart of the Medina, just a 2 minute walk from the famous Jemaâ El Fna square, the souks (markets) and the historic district. It offers free Wi-Fi access.
Score from 453 reviews Excellent
With an indoor swimming pool, hammam, and terrace that has a solarium and Berber tent, Riad Smara is 600 metres from Jamaâ El Fna and a 10-minute drive from the Marrakech Train Station.
Score from 105 reviews Wonderful
The Riad is located in Marrakech, 10 minutes from the Place Djamaa el Fna. It features an outdoor swimming pool and a gourmet restaurant in the heart of the Medina.
Score from 226 reviews Very good
In the heart of the Medina, this riad features a rooftop terrace with a pool, restaurant and views of Kotoubia Mosque and the historic quarter.
Score from 338 reviews Wonderful
the riad was well located and rather nicely decorated.
the staff was not very helpful and not very nice (I got yelled at because I came 5 mins too late for my taxi to the airport - which had been overcharged anyway). also, wifi only works in the central area, which is very dark. finally be prepared to pay cash because we lost 30mins twice because the card machine didn't work (and again I was told itwas my fault and I should just walk 15mins on my own to the square to withdraw money)
From the moment we placed a booking, we received a personal email from Amine welcoming us and offering other assistance. The neighbourhood is very quiet and the locals on the main street near the Riad - who will definitely recognise you if you stay for more than a day - are friendly and eager to help. Felt safe here. The Riad itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable; good sized room, great beds, very hot water, air conditioning. Breakfast was cooked freshly each day and it was plentiful. Even when we had an early morning tour departure, breakfast was cooked and served well outside of the normal hours – as opposed to just a breakfast box being left out. Has a good sun roof and small plunge pool. Mohamed (night shift) and Aziz (day shift) were both patient and very helpful - providing directions, booking tours and answering questions. Both showed an interest in what we had done during our days and checked if we were ok – especially when one of us was unwell. At the end of our stay, after checking out of our room at the allocated time, we were then also welcome to leave our bags or in fact remain in the common area of the riad until a time much closer to our departure flight time. In reality, if you don’t get too distracted by all there is to see or lead a different way by one of the locals, the Riad is only a 10 minute walk to the souks and Jemaa el Fna; other major tourist attractions are a little further away but still all within easy walking distance of the Riad. Would definitely stay again.
Free WiFi was available, but service was intermittent.
Employees, Atmosphere, Air Conditioning ;-) Location in relationship to Medina.
Very well located, close to everything we wanted to do and see. People in the riad were always very kind and helpful, with special thanks to Mohamed, who has managed to change our first bad impression upon arrival. Linen and towels very clean, smelling good and snow white due to the hard work of the riad's personnel.
We arrived at the riad at early evening and in order to get there, we had to walk our way through the Medina, the path a bit dark, narrow and scary, but we were later assured by a French couple staying in the riad that there was no danger in the area. We stayed in the riad for 6 nights, however, they forgot our reservation for the last night when we came back from the desert and asked us to go to another riad as they had given our room to someone else. Later on, after some discussions, they realized that they had made a mistake and gave us a (very bad) room, with leaks in the bathroom making it almost impossible to use the toilet due to the amount of water on the floor. They tried to compensate it by giving us some gifts, paying the cab to the airport and cutting the night rate to the half.
This was a beautiful Riad that allowed you to escape to peace and tranquility while staying directly in the Medina a stones throw away from all the hustle and bustle of markets and Jemaa el Fna square etc Staff were always on hand and happy to help! We loved it here and would definitely come back to stay again.
Riad Dar Ourika is a beautiful traditional escape from the hustle and bustle of the historic Medina, which is literally a 5min walk away. It is quiet and tranquil and the staff are happy and always on hand when/ if you need them. Our room - Rabat - was lovely as was the daily breakfast served. The only issue I think was that the main shower head in our bathroom didn't work. Though I note that we didn't actually say anything about this because there was a small hand held shower head we could use and we were only there for 4 nights! For the price we paid this was a wonderful place to stay and a bargain - I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
We felt really safe and comfortable in the location and riad, the staff were all very friendly and it was absolutely a great value for money. Room was air-conditioned and the place had a fantastic living area and roof terrace. Thank you so much - we will come visit again soon hopefully!
Nothing! It was perfect.
Beautiful riad with nice small pool
We got the room at ground floor. The room, toilet, bed is too close to people who take a breakfast in the morning. It was really annoying for us even for them
Really pleasant place to stay. Room was comfortable and charming, the staff very very polite. We had a night porter Mohammed who was always in hand in the night if you are in need of anything.
It was a bit of labyrinth trying to find the Riad and was quite easy to get lost during your first day when your trying to get back during the night.
The woman at the desk was extremely helpful. We had our laundry done and a very nice dinner.
Our room (royal suite) was amazing, with its own little roof terrace and very high and ornate ceiling. Good breakfast with delicious pancakes.
The pool in the breakfast area is very cold and not that suitable for relaxing.
I recommend this place to everybody who is traveling to Marakesh. clean, nice rooms, great staff.
Clean with very nice décor, great room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rather quiet hotel and restful, great food
Very difficult to find, staff not always very present
excellent accommodation , plenty room , and clean . staff could not be more helpful . surroundings and decoration pleasing to the eye . location quite close to square - about 10 mins on foot - confusing at first , but ok after 1st time . breakfast very nice . public areas of riad large and impressive . excellent roof top balcony . very satisfied with riad and would recommend to others .
Really lovely staff - very helpful, especially helping us to carry our bags to the taxi the morning we left.
Friendly staff, happy to help.Breakfast varied daily and plenty of it. Very central position but hidden away and quiet. We walked to all main attractions.
The staff was amazing. Welcoming, ready to help, warm. The suite royale is spacious and perfect for the 5 of us. Loved the cheminee. The roof terrace has lovely views and the location is perfect.
The staff were friendly, patient, so helpful and polite. The location is good. The decorations were nice & original.
The rooms are very small & not good value for the money, carry cash with you as the credit card system in Morocco in general isn't good so it is better safe than sorry. The maze to reach the hotel can be tricky, especially on the first day but people are friendly & will be willing to help you find your way.
Very good location, staff were fabulous. Loved the idea of a Riad as not sure what they were.
Not sure of the cats, one came in to our room and marked its territory!
Very welcoming atmosphere and people..inspiring settings. Highly recommend
The staff was very kind, hospitable, fair minder, and they do their work with Joy. Also, the riad itself was so beautiful. Great breakfast, beautiful rooms, nice showers.
There was nothing we didn't like. I hope to go back as soon as possible.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful. They accommodated us with early breakfast on two days when we had early departures. The location was very convenient to the Jemaa al Fna. The decor was beautiful. Our rooms wer quite lovely.
The team Wark very excellent very helpful specially mohamed and Hamed. The cleaning is very good. I was very happy from the staff and i think if will goto marrakesh will stay in this hotel
Classical Riad well located with very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel arranged for us a car with a local company at a great value. The car was brough to the hotel and we could then deliver the car at the airport.
The pick up arrangement did not work out so well in two occasions. The company used by the Riad to pick up travellers from the airport not very proffesional. They were late and had not posters. Both my man and myself who arrived in two different flights had to call the Riad twice to find out what's going on. Better to catch a taxi to Sidi Abdelaziz and then call the hotel to pick you up.
Very nice people. After the first night I told them my matras was a bit hard and the same day they bought a softer one for me!
Only the weather, it was raining ;-)
