We had a fantastic 6 night break at Dar Salam. The owner Tiana is a warm friendly person who made us feel nothing was too much troube. Will go back for sure.clean tidy and great value for money.
We enjoyed the stay very much! The family is so very frindly and helpful. We will stay here again!
The owner is a fantastic lady who speaks english, french, spanish & arabic. She was perfectly capable and willing to show us all the nice places to go to and made sure we had an amazing stay in Marrakech. Great place!
Room décor, breakfast, free Wi-Fi, friendly staff, comfortable room
Location a bit far from town, locale a bit dirty, cleaner moved my laptop and broke my mouse connection, room not available first night despite booking six months before. Had to be moved to local riad.
Lovely welcome and a smooth check in followed by a mint tea. Excellent value for money, the room was beautiful and had beautiful traditional elements in its decor. The manager was always very helpful and organised us a daytrip out to Ourika valley.
Bathroom was very small and the noise from the streets at night would reach our room.
It's a small, but cosy place; the owner is very friendly and thoughtful. She served us homemade soup the first evening, as we were hungry after a long drive, but too tired to go out.
It's located in Medina, which is rather difficult to get around, but the hotel is close to the exit :) Please be aware of "guides" in Medina, which are eager to lead you to the necessary object, but will, of course, ask for a payment in return. Sometimes they don't even ask, if you need help, but start walking with you and will demand payment at the destination.
Hi my girlfriend and I just stayed 4 nights in the cleopatra suite and loved it! Great breakfast with fresh oj. The location is 20 minutes walk to the main square past very interesting shops, restaurants and sites of cultural interest. A perfect balance of genuine old city culture and tourist areas!
Insects. Red spots all over my body.
Staff-The Owner was so kind Cleopatra room was a good choice. Breakfast disponible even after 11am. Wonderful
Sobha, the owner/hostess is wonderful -- friendly and helpful. The place was imaginatively decorated.
We were covered in bed bug bites after 3 nights there. We tried to let Sobha know, but she was reluctant to believe it. A week later, we are still suffering. The location is quite far away from the action -- 25 minutes on foot at least. The breakfasts were only bread and jam -- other breakfasts we've had in Morocco were more substantial
Staff is great, the place is 15 min walk from elFnaa but you get there thru the souk wich is very nice. The area is no tourist (mainly) you can see how the life go on on a maroccan city neighborood. The riad is very nice and well kept. the Cleopatra Suite is very big, with good toilet, hot shower, air-con. breackfast excellent. Thx!
all very good.
kind staff, good breakfast, really available, good position, easy to find
The staff were v helpful and could speak a multitude of languages (I heard English, French and Spanish). Our taxi could find it very easily and I thought it was a reasonable street in the Medina (despite arriving at 2130). The décor was lovely and breakfast was simple but good.
Simple rooms, a roof terrace and the beautifully appointed common areas.
found a slug in our room
The room we pick, the tent, was beautiful and comfortable.
The landlady was friendly and helpful The room was clean and comfortable The food given at breakfast was the best I had in my entire time in Marrakech
The area (being OLD Medina) isn't very safe/nice to be in- my taxi driver had to escort me to my hotel door as HE didn't think it was safe.
Definetly the best accommodation where we stayed in Morocco, and the best value for money (double room, ensuite, with breakfast 20€per night + 2.5€ tax per person). AC and wifi were working well, the room was clean (done everyday),the staff was nice. Good breakfast. With the window on the internal court, and being located in a small impasse,it was very very quiet, even if the nearby road is very noisy. My husband defined it "maison de la paix", for being very fresh and quiet compared to the outside!). Someone said it is difficult to locate...it can be true, but as everything in Marrakesh! In order not to get lost, from the airport you can take a taxi till the hotel (it should not cost much more than the bus for 2).or you can take bus 19 and ask to be left at the Gare Routiere (it stops there). Then just make yourself sure to take Rue El Gza (preferably ask to shop keeper if you are on the right street, maybe while buying a bottle of water or something similar - and not to people in the street - and you won't have problem). After walking some 5 minutes you will find the sign to the riad (on the right coming from the bus station)
Really the only negative point is that it is about 20min walking from Jamaa el fna. from the square the first 10min are in a beautiful street, but the last 10min have to be made in a street of the medina where a lot of motorbike and even some cars pass.
Well we're should i start, this is our last day in the riad andit has been fantastic, the madame/owner is fabulous and speaks good english and fluent french it just feels like we are at home. We stayed in one of the tent rooms the noise didn't bother us it was quite funny listening to people below on the streets (and we live on a busy road in England) it definitely has a rustic morrocan feeling. If you want 5 star luxury this isn't the place for you but if you want to feel traditional morrocan culture then this is the place for you. The square is about 20 min walk we found it easier walking on the outskirts of the medina than walking from the souks. sometime we had a taxi home don't pay no more than 40 mad in the day and 60 mad at night. The trips organised through the riad are a very good price we did the cascades and essousiria and other people we spoke to on the trips had paid much more. The best tip I can give is just have your wits about you
It was a good 20 min walk to the square
- the lady in charge was helpful and she speaks English - the toilet clean - the wifi is fast
- weak to no connectivity to wifi in the rooms. However if you choose the rooms on the ground floor, the signal seemed to be stronger there.
Located just within the walls of the Medina, a real Moroccan feel. A very warm and welcoming Riad, the owner couldn't do enough for us. Came back and stayed again for our last night in Morocco.
The locaton is really good, because is inside the medina, so it's near and easy to.het everywhere. The breakfast is good and until late (11:30h). Friendly and helpful staff. We need to leave early and they served breakfast to us.
We missed to have more paper towels in the toilet. They leave just one roll per time. The lication is good but easy to be lost. If tou are woman you need to take care and not go home too late (marrakech in general, not just in medina)
Good price. Excellent location. Great experience of Moroccan culture.
Very dusty rooms. Small tight squeeze in toilets. We think we caught Scabies and required treatment. Not much variety of breakfast.
Ambiance of the ryad, friendly people (mostly), close to the place where you can find Taxi, overall safe to live, Mint Tea.
No variety in breakfast, same basic stuff everyday No in-house entertainment: no TV in lounge,
