We really enjoyed Dar Tuscia despite the incredible heat of Marrakesh. We thought the service was excellent from the lady in chqrge of the hotel´s upkeep and cleaning. Even though she didn´t speak french she made us feel very welcome. The rooms were very clean and the inner courtyard was beautiful with some resident sparrows! The breakfast was tasty, with very good coffee. Nice bathroom too. We found it hard to find initially and it is about a 20min walk from the main square if you don´t get lost.

we had such a lovely stay with Naima at Dar Tuscia- we cannot recommend it highly enough- Naima is a generous and warm hostess who made us feel so comfortable, welcome and happy; from our arrival cup of tea, to our final stretch in the sun on the roof terrace of her beautiful riad, she was courteous, warm, responsive and completely hospitable. we looked forward to coming back to the riad after busy days out and about in the souks, the rooms are clean, beautiful and tasteful and it is a real oasis in a busy and at times overwhelming city! I will definitely be recommending Dar Tuscia to friends and family! We strongly recommend arranging airport collection as it was hard to find if you are not familiar with Marrakesh- but super easy and close to Jamaa El Fna once you know the way!

The staff we attentive and polite. a perfect place to stay in Marrakesh. close enough and far enough from the madness. also a good point of reference being near the wall of the Medina. Aids navigation for those of use who are less intrepid.

Well what can I say, just a simply delightful place. We were recommended this place by a lady that met one of our group in India and what a fantastic recommendation it was. We booked through booking.com. I contacted the Riad before we went and they kindly offered to arrange transport to pick us up as the Riad is very difficult to find first time – I would strongly recommend that if you book here you take them up on this offer – its not expensive and very helpful. When we arrived at the Riad, Naima was so welcoming, she made us some lovely mint tea and cake and showed us to our rooms. Now if you are expecting a 4 star plush hotel – you are in the wrong place! If you are expecting an authentic Moroccan experience then this is the place to be. The rooms are simple, but clean, and comfortable. In typical Riad style there is a lovely inside courtyard with open roof, there is also a lovely lovely roof top area where you can look out over the Medina and either sit in the sun or shade and relax. Our hostess, Naima was so lovely, nothing was too much trouble, breakfast is served between 8 and 11 am, but its nice if you let her know what time you would like it, again it is simple, but filling and really sets you up for the day. She very kindly offered to cook for us as well and we took her up on her offer on our final day for lunch – we were not disappointed – she cooked us a fantastic Moroccan Chicken Tagine which was superb – probably one of the best we had all holiday. She also arranged an excursion for us up into the Atlas mountains which was a lot of fun. Would we return to the Riad – yes – would we return to Marrakech – probably not – the experience was great but once was enough! Unfortunately the call to prayer at 5.00 am upset the dog next door that barked for a while and that woke us up - but other than that it was great.

Room was quiet and nicely furnished. There was hot water in the bathroom at all times. If you're there in January, be prepared, that it might be quite cool in your room. There is no heating. It's a 20 minutes walk to Jamaa el Fnaa. But it is easy and not expensive to go by taxi from Bab Yacout which is close to the hotel.

The staff at the Riad were helpful and friendly at all times. Even returning late at night someone was always on hand to greet us. The roof terrace gives great views over the city rooftops, out away towards the Atlas mountains in the background. Going out on the roof at night to view the stars was spectacular. Although a little chilly in December, it was a nice area to relax, albeit with washing hanging along one side and a big dog on the roof next door! The rooms were comfortable and clean, if basic. Hot water was always available and the bathroom was functional if not luxurious. All in all the Riad Dar Tuscia looks just like the photo's you see, it has all the facilities needed for a city break, without any frills. The Riad is just inside the walls of the Medina and feels very authentic. There are shops, Souks, street food stalls and shops, restaurants and sights all within easy reach, but be prepared to get lost several times until you find your bearings. Marrakech is an incredibly noisy city, with hustle and bustle all around. Youngsters gather in groups on street corners in the absence of anything else to do and, as is the way with young men, they are loud, shouting, laughing and messing about. The very narrowness of the alleyways that is part of the charm of the city, also magnifies this noise and it often sounded like there was a large crowd gathered outside the Riad until quite late at night. The air conditioning unit in the room had no heat setting so we had to resort to an extra duvet on the bed when it got cold in the evening. This was fine, but it meant sitting in the room wasn't really an option.

- lovely inside the front door - rooms lovely decor - food superb - staff lovely and very helpful - a quiet oasis - Riad is in an area of the medina which is some distance from the main square, if you do not know Marrakech, it could be intimidating, and it's easy to get lost.

An old and beutifull riad inside the the walls of the medina , spotlesly clean , very comfy beds lovely rooms , friendly staff with very good english .. peacefull and quiet dar tuscia is far enough from the main square that you have to walk through the medina to get to the djamma el fna and this will involve getting lost several times ( could take 10 - 30 mins ). although ounce you've managed to get to get your bearings it's actually pretty easy Now some people would find the location of dar tuscia a bit far from djamma el fna ( the main square, where every thing happens ) but for me getting lost in the narrow lanes of the medina was part of the fun of marrakesh but if you can't or won't walk for 10 - 30 mins then you might need to be a bit more central

Typical riad Welcoming and helping staff (but if you ask for a guide ask not to have Hassan) Very good dinner (extra) Very cheap laundry service A bit far from the centre (especially at night) a bit noisy: ask for the room not facing on the street The yard get wet when raining (but not a big problem, there's a dining room) Payment by credit card didn't work at the time

A little gem hidden away behind an unobtrusive door off a dusty back street. Friendly and helpful host, happy to sort out excursions or more accommodation. Small, well laid out. Close to the taxi rank. Roughly half an hour walk from the main square and ATMs, plus getting lost time (worsened by a few locals deliberately pointing you the wrong way so as to be able to 'rescue' you.

It is very hard to find in the medina. There was a baby crying the entire time we stayed there. The women who runs the place gave bad directions, barely had time to help us or give us any helpful information about where we were. This area of the Medina is not a tourist area and once you actually find your way out of the Medina, it is pretty dirty.

Well designed riad with lots of plants, great terrace and charming patio. Room and bathroom very basic but actually all you need and fair enough for the money!!! We felt very comfortable with the staff and the owner speaks English, so no problem with communication. We got the confirmation email and directions from the owner. I really recommend asking for pick up from Airport since it's quite hard to find the riad and if it's your first night in Marrakech you can end up with paying 150dirhams just to get rid of the local guys. Coming during a day won't cause so much trouble I guess.... :) The riad is very close to the gate of Medina (what's good if you're renting a car) and it's still walking distance to the centre. We're not demanding especially paying such money for a night, but since we got confirmation for breakfast we should have been informed what time to expect it - so we haven't got it at all on the second day.

It's a very cozy Riad. It's 30 minutes away from Djemaa El-Fna but it's not difficult to find once you was there for the first time. Nice people. There was supposed to be a taxi picking us up in the train station but no one was there. We tried to call and no one answered. So we had to take a taxi by ourselves which meant paying 50 dirhams to the driver and then 100!!!! to some "riad guardian" who took us to the door of the riad. We didn't want to pay that much but he started getting angry and two more guys came so I decided to pay and let it go... If the pick-up service had worked I would have saved money and I wouldn't have been fooled by anyone.
