We stayed at Riad Anjar. The place is awesome, a peaceful oasy in the caothic Marrakech. The staff is very nice and Lina is a great person: she welcomed us and gave us a lot of good tips. The Riad is amazing, very clean, peaceful and very well furnished. I deeply recommend this place to everyone in Marrakech!

We really liked this Riad. The owner is very nice and helpful. You can have a delicious breakfast whenever you like, you have a clean room and the hotel has a fantastic incense smell 24 hours a day.

Location is awful for me. There are many people around the world who are amazed by Medina. But, I think is not a good location to stay. Too many seller around you, even if you don't speak or look at them, try to sell something to you. They touch you arms, drive the bikes on to you. It is an exhausting neighborhood.

The riad has been restored to a high standard and captures the beauty of Moroccan architecture. It is hidden away and quiet despite being within five minutes of the main square. It feels special as a place to stay and will especially suit couples .

The riad talks about an annexe building and offers rooms there .it is in fact an entirely different riad some minutes away and lacks the architecture and attraction of the first riad. So be careful what you are bookimg and make it clear you do not wNt to be in the "annexe"

The riad is steps away from the central square. The decor is beautiful, and the breakfast was great. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable.

It is difficult to find, so use their airport transfer service. We stayed in the first floor, and it is a small riad, so you can hear voices of other guests if they are in the central courtyard.

The architecture was superb. Every room & nook was graceful appointed with authentic furnishings. The staff was very Accommodating. Emmanuella did everything possible to insure our arrival, stay & departure was spot on. It was like we had a private Guide to Marrakech. This riad is a "do not miss." It's an experience that will last a lifetime. Kelly/USA & Gabi/Aust

Although no mini bar/fridge we were provided with fresh cold water daily or as required Very good and personal service The décor definately lived up to the pictures which is very rare Definately not disappointed with the riad.

No mini bar/fridge Breakfast wasn't as varied as i would have liked, we were served a continental breakfast (but it was nice) It wasnt the most private of rooms, we would walk out onto the courtyard where breakfast was served which is annoying when other guests have breakfast early. Additionally whilst vents/grates in the bathroom are necessary, when these lead to the courtyard where breakfast is served it can make you a little nervous to use the 'facilities'

We arrived in Marrakesh by air 4/22/14 and stayed 4 nights. This was the perfect place for our introduction to Morocco. Emanuela had a taxi waiting at the airport and she met us at the entry to the Medina with someone to carry our bags along the cobble street to the Riad. Emanuel a is from Italy and speaks excellent English. The Riad is beautiful and the site photos are accurate. The women that make up the staff are absolutely wonderful and you are well taken care of. We had two dinners at the Riad and they were among the best meals of our 3 weeks in Morocco. You can count on being directed to the sites and restaurants of the City. We were sad to leave and quite pleased with the arrangements to get us to the train station.

This is a very well run business that makes you feel at home. Typical of all Riads is the central atrium which can be noisy if guests come in late and are unaware that their voices carry to the rooms opening to the atrium.

It was absolutely beautiful and each detail was perfect. We even had a big bunch of fresh roses in our room.

The only minor flaw was the lighting in the bathroom. It was very dark but there are plenty of mirrors outside of the room that you can use for applying makeup etc.

Great staff and hood position. Peaceful inside away from hustle and bustle of medina

Not having been to morrocco before. Didn't realise the accommodation is nit your standard hotel style. That could've made a bit clearer on booking site. Wasn't aware we had to walk in from wall entrance which can be quite confronting with all the locals hassling to help you. Not. sure who you should trust a bit of an Issue. This should also be explained.

The food, the attentiveness of the staff, the decor and the location for exploring the medina.

No pool, a little noisy on the ground floor and no tea/coffee making facilities in room

The hospitality shown by Paolo and all the support staff was truly excellent. Local knowledge and their guidance as to what to see during a short-trip was invaluable. The oasis of the Riad against the hustle and bustle backdrop of Marrakech was fantastic.

The decoration of the Raid Dar Zahia is very elegant and porcelain, it dates back to 18th century. The owner Paolo and waitress are very kind and helpful. It's not easy to get there if you are arrived at night. There are lots of roads and doors. Luckily, the staff of the raid picked us from square, we could get there safely.

Dar Zahia is a jewel hidden within the maze of alleys of the old Souk. It is tucked away in a calm and peaceful corner of the heart of the ancient city. It has every element of old Marrakech from beautiful architecture and decoration to the gentle charm of the Moroccan staff lead by the kind and charismatic Paolo. The riad is beautifully appointed, it has an understated elegance with everything you think you'll need, and a little bit more. Staying here is like being in the house of a very good and spoiling friend, it is effortlessly comfortable, relaxed and completely accommodating - and smells divine! The food is delicious, the beds are comfortable and the atmosphere romantic. Together with top advice for things to do, places to visit and tips for purchasing in the Souk this place, with all the super people associated with it, is simply lovely.

There is very little to dislike. All I would say is that one must remember Dah Zahia is tucked away and can only be reached on foot. This is its charm. The alley-ways are peaceful and unthreatening and one soon gets to recognise the locals who are hugely helpful in guiding one in the right direction! If Paolo's hand drawn map is kept close to hand you shouldn't go wrong and will soon recognise the routes in and out. Just watch out for the locals on their mopeds they are skilled at navigating through the bustle but this can be a little unnerving!

This riad was absolutely perfect! A great location right next to the souks. Friendly and helpful staff that bent over backwards to make us feel welcome - Emanuela is just a delight! Gorgeous riad with stylish decor and spotlessly clean. Very reasonable in terms of cost and the best breakfast in Marrakech! I would definitely stay again whenever I'm back in Morocco and would recommend this riad to everyone I know.

Nothing - not a single thing to fault.

A small and very ornately decorated Riad. The Sakina suite was very beautiful with lovely rich warm colours and a series of stained glass windows opening to the main atrium. Paolo was a very helpful and attentive host.

In comparison with some of the other Riads we stayed in, it did seem a bit overpriced (room, airport transfer, dinner etc).

location, original setting of accommodation, staff

the booking was made for riad dar zahia, however, the stay was at a lower standard (but also good) sister-hotel, something that wasn't pointed out during the booking-process
