Score from 14 reviews Wonderful
The staff was very friendly and helpfull, the rooms were big, clean and confortable. The breakfeast in the terrace was amazing! The location was good, just in the middle of the medina . The hotel was like an oasis in the middle of the "caos" of Medina. We had a lot of freedom to use the terrace, listen to music and watch the paisage , the beautiful sunset.
I recommend to call the hotel before arriving so that someone can meet you or advice you how to get to the hotel . As it is just in the middle of the medina it is not possible to get there by car. The medina is confusing and lots of people will try to "help you" , but charging for it . The heating of the room was not very efficient as we went in winter time . The room was very fresh what is very good for the high temperatures in summer .
Friendly staff , good location , good view, good breakfast best coffee
Cool in winter, finding the place; be patient
The location is perfect with a large terrace to enjoy breakfast
We tried to contact the staff to arrange a pick-up or for someone to meet us but after three emails, a phone call and a text message we gave up. Luckily we met a young man who guided us to the door.
Breakfast, view, staff, setup of the riad, heated rooms, everything!
No double beds, nothing else!
Delicious breakfast on the terrace with wonderful views of the town and surroundings - trek up the hill with a suitcase not recommended -take what you need Nothing to dislike about the rooms or general décor of the place, although it was a bit functional.
The rooms were cozy clean and tasteful, location was convienent to reach many points of interest, and the terrace where breakfast was served is exceptional. Great views and breakfast. An excellent place to lounge at.
The wifi slow most days. I don't want to blame the establishment because it could be other factors. But It was sometimes difficult to send emails or research for future travel.
Location - inside of the ancient town which is beautiful and charming
The host didn't speak fluent English and when it comes to local information about resteraunt, transportation, the host apparently has little knowledge around some basic stuff. Although the host stays at the place overnight, he turned a blind eye to very noisy guests till midnight. The wall is very thin and This is very poor management
Great home cooked food. Highly recommend the evening meal. Fantastic views from the terrace over the old town. Friendly staff.
Rooms got quite chilly in the evening (despite the portable heater which was provided) and the bathroom was freezing in the morning!! No hot water (at least not in my room).
We were traveling with our daughter after she had finished her semester abroad program in Rabat. Dar Zambra was recommended by a friend. The guest rooms and living room were comfortable but outdoor breakfast dining was fantastic and stunning. Helpful staff. Loved Chefchaoen...don't miss it!
wifi was OK but not strong signal in our room. Power was out in the morning when we awoke due to blown fuse but solved quickly.
Lovely terrace breakfast.
Unfortunate bathroom odor couldn't be exhausted from room.
The staff was very helpful, a cosy terrace with beautiful views, nice breakfast, good wifi
The hotel is beautiful having the characteristic blue color of the city and taking care of all the details of the decor. The view from the terrace is amazing and the best is to have the breakfast there, which is the best breakfast in Morocco. The staff is friendly and ready to help you about anything you need.
At night the room was cold but as soon as we ask for another heater they brought as one... After that the temperature was perfect.
The roof terrace, where they serve breakfast, had what must be one of the best views of Chefchaoen. The staff was very friendly and helpful despite some language issues. Breakfast was an enormous spread of breads, jams, tea/coffee. There was a common room at the first level to relax outside of the room as well. The bed was reasonably comfortable.
The hike up the hill to the Riad was a bit steeper than I would have liked. It is also somewhat difficult to find for the first time, even with a map.The bathroom had the smell of sewer from it, though closing the doors helped. The rooms were cold, though a space heater helped there as well. Plenty of blankets for nighttime too. This is more the sign of a summer oriented society that we visited in late November, than any real problem with the hotel. Wifi worked, but was spotty through the thick walls or when a lot of people were in the hotel..
Very nice and hospitable staff. Great room and house decor. Awesome terrace breakfast!
Beautiful views from the roof terrace. Great breakfast. Good location for exploring Chefchouen. Manager very helpful in giving info about getting to Tangier.
A bit hard to get to. As an older person I needed help to get my luggage there.
Dar Zambra was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. It was very clean and well-kept. Our breakfast was ample and delicious. I will stay here again and recommend it to others.
There was a smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. This is pretty typical for Moroccan plumbing. There was a cover for covering the shower drain and we used a cup to cover the sink drain, and then it was fine.
Breakfast was amazing. May food choices on offer. Gracious and attentive host.
A little hard to find. Ask a shop keeper if you get lost.
Staff was very helpful. Room very clean. Views from terrace great. Breakfast, the best in our travels thru Morocco.
Beds were like sleeping on slabs of granite. You had to climb to the top of the medina and with suitcases..not easy.
Friendly staff, view from the terrace.
You can watch great view from roof terrace also good hospitality for staff.
Their staff are still younger ages, so little difficult to communicate by English person by person but they will have potentially possible to grow up English skills for a moment.
- well located - nice rooms - excellent breakfast in the terrasse - nice terrasse overlooking the city
- hard to get to the hotel - we called the manager to get the directions, but he did not send anyone to help us find the hotel in the medinah
The proprietor's effort to please was second to none. They went the extra mile in taking us to a pharmacy on a Sunday by taxi to get some urgent supplies. Its an effort like that which shows true customer service!
This hotel is very tastefully decorated and was our most comfortable stop during our travels in Morocco. The views were great, the breakfast tasty, the beds heavenly. Would love to be there when the wood burners are fired up - very cosy I imagine!
Some of the staff speak very little English or French so communication was a little tricky but we coped!
Beautiful decorated, frendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast at the terrace.
Wi-fi sometimes didn't work. it's not very good if you carry big luggage because you have to climb several stairs.
- Unlike other b&b I could meet other people there - Excellent staff with personal atmosphere - one of the best views of chef - located in the nicest area of the medina
- you get the best view, so you also need to go up the hill a bit, and its not easy to find without some sort of sleazy "free" guide
