Score from 168 reviews Good
good location, good room, good staff. Everything is perfect.
Fantastic breakfast on the terrace, with great views of Moulay Idriss and the countryside. An atmospheric place to stay with wonderfully welcoming staff. Definitely coming back soon!
Great starting point to Marroco, ideal for excursions to Volubilis and Meknes, excellent kitchen (best tajine ever)
A very kind maroccan lady took care of us. Beautiful and very cosy little hotel with traditional ambiance. Lovely view from the terrace. Quiet place near the very center of Moulay Idriss.
Well located and easy to find, really close to the main square with cafes. Our room had a decorated ceiling and a cozy atmosphere.
Expensive for the kind of accommodation. Way too expensive the bike rental compared to local economy. Cold in all common areas.
- The friendliness of the owner - Good food - Pretty riad - Clean & quiet - Excellent value for money Rosa made for a very pleasant conversation that night, and went her extra way to find some fruit juice for the breakfast. Simply perfect.
- Not a problem with the riad itself, but its localisation within the medina may make you reliant on self-appointed "guides". While the owner will tip them for bringing you to the riad (which isn't far), one was under the delusion that I still owed him money, and a fairly unpleasant conversation ensued...
This place is amazing! It’s not just a guesthouse, it feels like home. Beautiful rooms where every little detail is thought through. The place has a rooftop terrace with amazing views to Moulay Idriss where you can watch the sunset while enjoying incredible local cuisine. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the owner Rose is a true gem. She is very helpful and full of good advice not only about Moulay Idriss, but about entire Morocco. Either a beautiful walk to Volubilis or Roman baths or her favourite restaurants and cafes in Fez or ice cream place in Meknes train station – every recommendation we followed was worth it! And check out their website, it’s also very informative. Moulay Idriss and Dar Zerhoune were by far the best places we visited in Morocco.
No TV ugly room; overpriced/
Clearly not a tourist trap. There is a real life quality to the location. Access to Volubilis was fabulous.
Endless stairs. Leave the luggage home.
Simple but calming and peaceful decor. The roof terrace is lovely with an excellent view especially at sunset. Moulay Idriss is a great place to visit if you want something a little less touristy.
The smell from the drains is sometimes unpleasant but unfortunately this is throughout most riads in Morocco.
Very pretty house with good view, nice breakfast.
No one there to receive me so nowhere to leave my bag. My room was an airless black hole. The mattress seemed as iron, for comfort it could have had spikes.
We enjoyed everything about Dar Zerhoune. The staff, the central location, the flexibility and the rooftop vista was what we needed after two and half weeks in Moroc. Dar Zerhoune and Moulay Idriss are a perfect fit for a 2-3 day get away. The hammam experience was traditional.
-great value for the money -very friendly and thoughtful staff -quiet and relaxing environment -rooftop terrace
All perfect, feel like home, especially the free lundary.
This is a lovely little guesthouse in Moulay Idriss. The food was exceptional, and location is perfect for Volubilis.
It's difficult to find and a challenge to get luggage into the house. This is easily solved by moving 1 night's worth of clothes into a day pack.
Nice atmosphere and decoration
No mirror in the bathroom, one can hear all noises from the house and the nearby rooms
Escellent location! Easy to find and close to everything! Just off the busy streets of the souqs, but still on a very quiet, tucked away street. Great breakfast that could be eaten on the lovely roof terrace. A big plus that our room had a small terrace of its own. I would warmly recommend this place, not least because of its good price.
The owner was absent most of the time, and although he was very nice, friendly and helpful he didn't go the extra mile like other riyad owners had.
The food was excellent, and thoughtful touches such as an electric blanket on the bed and Moroccan soap in the bathroom were very welcome. A cheerful, comfortable home from home.
One of the best hotels we stayed in Morroco! The decoration, the staff, the dinner: everything was perfect. They even have electric sheets to heat the bed before you go to sleep.
The GPS coordinates given are wrong. Go to the main square and ask for Dar Zerhoune, everyone knows it.
