location in medina room comfort helpful staff silence beautiful building
staff english is poor, only the owner is very comfortable about it
The staff is nice, but if you don't speak french it's kindah frustrating to communicate specially after the stressful event of finding the address .( the staff on duty didn't speak English, but she was very kind and tried her best to help).
Location is very difficult to find, beware of the locals even young children who would 'help' you find the address and they come in group and will not leave you alone until you give some tip and they throw the money back at you if they don't agree with the amount. This is very unfortunate incident one I will always associate with the character of Moroccans.the bed is not very comfortable either.
friendly staff, pieceful place, good breakfast, wifi (on the courtyard only, but it works). Recommendable.
no issues really
Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty--breads, jams, small jar of yogurt, orange juice, and coffee or tea. Room, including bathroom, was very spacious, nicely decorated, and comfortable.
It is a bit far from most things in the Medina (20 min walk to Jemma el Fna). The airport transfer is pricey (€15), but was our only option for our early departure.
We really enjoyed this riad. The location is good, 15 minutes walking distance to the big square. We had a driver pick us up at the airport which was super convenient. You really must eat the lamb tajine with almonds, it is the best dinner we had during the whole trip! Breakfast is also nice, maroccan style :)
Great staff. They're generous and there's a great homeliness about the Dar. The terrace is fantastic with birds and plants and a nicly scented breeze. The rooms are simple but comfortable. Overall a great place with great value!
The staff were so nice and went out of their way to make sure we had a good trip. I was so impressed when I was given gluten free cakes for breakfast as even in England they are hard to find. We had a brilliant transfer service, a great trip to the foothills of the Atlas mountains organised for us from the riad, and a delicious three course evening meal in the riad. The riad itself is also so charming. Although at first concerned from the winding alleyway to get to it, inside it is beautiful and our room was nicely furnished. Breakfasts, and if you have dinner, are in the communal courtyard which has lovely plants about and the occasional bird and we also spent a lot of time on the rooftop terrace. What was also great about our riad compared to others we heard about from other travellers was that because it is out of the main tourist areas it is quiet and most nights we slept through the morning prayer call. The destination is great as it's only a 5 minute walk down the street to get to the start of the souks. However from experience take taxis back from the main square late at night to avoid getting lost and hassled. All in all I would definitely recommend this to any traveller, especially couples. This was the best riad I found for the price and we were very impressed.
I liked everything there. Very stylish and clean room. Nice and gentle staff. The architecture of the riad is really lovely and authentic. Delicious breakfast. I think that it was the best riad among every riads where I was sleeping in Morocco.
Quite difficult to find the hotel at the first time but the staff sent me the drawing with the map earlier. Every difficulties with finding riads in Medina aren't something new. The owner offers the transport from the airport or he sends someone to the gate to help to come to the hotel.
Dar zouar is a super cute Riad with beautiful antique furniture and rooms. The staff were amazing and the mint tea was the best in town! It is a convenient location about 10mins from the main square. Also the breakfast is lovely, and included in the price. Think fresh juice, crepes, conserves, yogurt, tea and coffee. The roof terrace is very nice as well but we only discovered it at the end of our stay :( Thierry is also very punctual with his response to email enquiries which is also very handy. We would definitely go again, two thumbs up :)
The area for us was preferable and convenient but because it is in more of a residential area some of the roads are small and winding. This is fine for us as a young couple but may prove more inconvenient for older or younger travellers that prefer a more convenient route home. This is not a negative in my eyes as we saw so many nice things in the local area that enriched our mini break but as an observation this is the only difficulty I could see anyone encountering with Dar Zouar.
Super friendly staff and a great breakfast every morning!! We liked the location because it wasn't right in the centre but a 10 to 15min walk which was easy and nice. We really loved this hotel a lot and would recommend it to anyone going to Morocco.
It was interesting to stay in an area a little further away from the more touristique area of the medina. It was a very lively area, with lots of locals shopping and socialising in the streets, especially at night. The Riad was calm and cosy and the room was very spacious.
The breakfast juice was not a real juice but a plain squash with some kind of "pulp" in it... The rooftop could be better furnished and decorated.
Extremely kind owner and nice staff, who assisted me well picking me up at the Bab Taghzout gate and taking me back to the taxi. Peaceful environment in beautiful old house with green courtyard and terrace, removed a bit from the chaos of the main square.
Nice location, excellent accomodation, friendly staff.
beautiful decorations , friendly staff ,clean & comfort rooms , good breakfast
location far from Jame' el Fna
Friendly, helpful, informative owner, games of french trivial pursuit on the roof terrace, excellent breakfasts, comfortable room. Offer of excursions. Good location and lovely courtyard.
