we loved everything about our stay here, the location was fantastic although I would recommend having a car as it is off the beaten track! We went in April and was told that because it wasn't too busy we had been upgraded free of charge to a Villa for 6 was incredible, very spacious for the four of us and extremely well equipped. Food was delicious and freshly prepared, but evening meals need to be booked the day before. We would highly recommend this site, it is immaculately clean, idyllic paradise, with very friendly staff who go out of there way to help!!

There was nothing we did not like about our stay - highly recommend it

I was staying in a villa for 6 adults. The villa was great, well equipped, clean and spacious: 3 bed rooms, kitchen, private garden, and quite large salon which opens on a very nice inner courtyard. The staff at the hotel is nice.

    - breakfast not included, and for a family, it is quite expensive to pay 6Euros each. - Access to Hammam is chargeable. - Fitness room is not well maintained. - Access to the Hotel from the main road not very visible and not very easy. - Restaurant is expensive for a famile. - Wifi was not working in the Villa - The pool was not well maintained.

The whole complex was beautifully designed and the apartment was extremely spacious. The pool area was stunning and very relaxing. The staff were all wonderfully helpful and Radouane went out of his way to ensure that everything we asked for was provided. The shuttle bus was very handy for travelling between town and the complex.

I had completed a lot of research before this trip as chose DS. I had high expectations and was shocked that they were more than met. I love Agritourismo style accommodation and I can say that is as good if not better than any of the top classes agritourismos I have stayed in in Italy. The initial welcome was lovely and throughout our 5 days here the staff could not possibly have done anymore for us. They were so extremely helpful, genuine friendly and just very welcoming. They create a family atmosphere which really adds to the feel and experience here. We were a group of five and our accommodation was fabulous. Very comfortable and very clean. The house was cleaned spotless every day. There's plenty of space for cooking should you wish to do so. The food on site was very good, among the best I had in Morocco. We had a Moroccan cookery course with Raduoanes fabulous wife which was very informative and enjoyable. The pool area is lovely and very comfortable. Chilled music is played at a nice volume. The gardens and decor are fantastic to the point I took lots of photos of their decor and flowers for inspiration in my own home. Overall we had a fabulous stay and I would highly recommend to couples, families, groups of friends etc to stay here. You will receive a very warm welcome which will set the standard for your entire stay.

I could not really criticise anything but if I had to make a recommendation it would be to firstly install a clear sign on the road with their name. Secondly I think the basics of salt, pepper and maybe coffee etc should be in the houses on arrival.

We loved the town of Essaouira - a drive of about 15 minutes away. We used the hotel shuttle which worked very well. We were there in March and it was extremely windy and too cool to use the pool. The hotel was undergoing maintenance and improvements while we were there and after our arrival on the weekend we were the only guests at the hotel. We could imagine how nice it would be when filled with guests. It is a lovely spot. We had a problem with the shower and the manager made sure it was fixed very quickly for us. He also looked after the purchase of tickets for the bus ride back to Marrakech for us and arranged for our clothes to be laundered. Very thoughtful! Any of the staff we met were very pleasant.

Since we were the only guests at the hotel, we wondered why we had not been put into a room which was closer to the main building. It was a bit of a walk to our room and the view from the balcony was a construction site. We felt a bit awkward eating in the hotel dining room on our final night as we were the only people in the hotel and it seemed silly to have the dining room all to ourselves . Decided to eat in our room and our dinner was brought to us. It felt almost like a warmed over meal - very dry and unappetizing. Did not appear to have been made fresh. While the setting is beautiful, I can understand someone feeling a little isolated. If we had a car, we could have toured the area a bit. Also, had we stayed in Essaouria itself, it would also have been easier to go out and about for a quick stroll, dinner, etc. without worrying about timing for the shuttle. We were looking for peace and quiet after a hectic Marrakech/desert trip and had it been at the height of the season we would have really enjoyed lazing around the pool - and the grounds were lovely. It certainly was relaxing but with it being so early in the season, and so windy, it wasn't the most pleasant to be sitting by the pool.

The Moroccan style living accommodation and the pool area and the friendliness of the staff.

We were a little pre season and therefore we had to share pool side with workers preparing a new pool side bar but it wasn't too much of a problem to be fair.

The overall structure is good, it seems to be new

I decided to book a room at Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri reading the feedbacks and looking at its position on the maps. When I arrived in Essaouira, I started searching for the hotel following the indication on the web site, arriving at the Douar Souiri (situated in the exact position of the hotel I have booked). I have tried to check-in, but I discovered that my name was not on the list. The receptionist informed me that I was not the first "not-client": indeed, many other tourists tried to check-in there because of the localization on the map and because of the similarity of the names (Douar Souiri instead of Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri). Due to this missunderstanding I decided to call the Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri in order to get new instructions about the position and how to reach the place, and.. surprise! The number I have called was not working at all. So I had the get a cab (price around 20 euros for a 20 minute ride) and I have finally reached the place (after almost 2 hours) which is in the middle of nothing on the way from Essaoiura to Marrakech. At this point I had to wait at around 45 minutes in order to check-in and get the room, as the owner just suggested me to "relax by the pool" and think about the rest later.. not the best solution if you travel with luggages and/or you want to visit the city of Essaouira. The "funniest" situation happened during the check-out: I had to discuss with the owner (approx 1 hour and an half) about the quality of service I have experienced and about the reliability of the information on before finally leave the place.

Beautiful house with private pool, quiet environment, very friendly staff, nice clubhouse with breakfast by the communal pool. Although the Residence is about 10 km from town, the shuttle facilities were very pleasant; the staff was always ready to bring you to town or to pick you up! We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a trendy and relaxed place with a wonderful service!

We loved the pool area with table tennis and relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent and enough for teenage boys Free shuttle bus to beach/town Owner/manager was very pleasant and made up for lack of organisation. The one meal we had was lovely and fresh. We would come back here and recommend it to friends despite the negatives.

The shower area was difficult to clean and the general cleanliness of the taps and sinks could be better.Although advertised, we had to go outside to get wifi and it dropped out when we went into our room. No English TV channels- not a big deal but when WIFi doesn't work it can become a problem. Slightly unorganised and lack of information about meal times,Spa facilities and menu options. No consistant shuttle times meant we could not plan our days as we would have liked, however the owner did try to accommodate guests. There were times when we felt as if we were fitting around the staff trying making their jobs easier instead of them thinking of us as paying guests.

Very beautiful setting, pieceful and quiet. very helpful and friendly staff. I would recommend this resort for couples that are looking for relaxing holidays in a wonderful apartment, dont mind to do self catering at least for breakfast.

breakfast is no good value for money and lacks variety. however the cook is excellent and lunch and dinner is very good! no facilities for children, except for a unheated kids pool (not usable in winter), but apart from that no toys, playground or high chair available. families with children should best travel with friends and other kids. therefore they have excellent big houses with private pool, otherwise it can become a little too quiet....

Excellent location for relax. If you got own car you can enjoy Essauouira and the beach and will rest nicely by pool with quiet atmosphere.

Ask for exact GPS data. Navigation shows hotel in Essaauoira town.

Very friendly and helpful manager, beautiful pool, cosy bar and restaurant. Spacious, cosy and clean apartment with terrace. Quiet location, ideal if you want to chill out away from the hussle of the medina, or to recover from a trip around the mountains and desert. Overall, we had a great stay. The children had a great time in the pool and playing table tennis, while we relaxed by the pool with a drink and a good book.

Unfortunately the hammam was not working, but is being fixed. The staff in the bar and restaurant seemed overwhelmed, even though it was not so busy in the resort.

This place was very pretty. More like a little community of villas than a hotel right up a long dirt track. The pool was very nice on a hot day and they even had a small gym if you were feeling keen. The food was good and they are more than happy to bring it to you where ever you want (although like most places in Morocco the service is very relaxed and so breakfast or an impromptu meal may take over an hour to get moving so prepare for this if you have things planned for the day). I would recommend this place if you want to get away from it all for a few days with a bit of small explorations into town during the day. Not so much if you want to explore essaouira more deeply and have a night out there.

It's far away from the centre of town. They do have a shuttle however not if you want to come back late from town ( it only goes at certain times). It was a bit of an adventure getting home one night as our taxi got a bit lost going down the dirt track.

Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri is a beautiful resort just outside of Essaouira. The cottages are modern, clean, spacious and (some) have an astonishing view. The moment you enter the gate of the resort you ‘feel’ the relaxed atmosphere; nice maintained gardens between the cottages, friendly staff (always willing to help) and a nice pool where you can enjoy the sun. The manager really understands the details that make sleeping in Résidence Hôtelière Douar Souiri an experience: nice leaves on your bed when you arrive, fresh orange juice for breakfast, quality coffee and always clean towels available on the sunbed next to the pool. This is not the standard service in Morocco. Go visit this place!

The first time it’s indeed hard to find. And the fact that have you to reserve your dinner before 13.00. Since we arrived our first day at 16.00 (after 5 hours of driving), we couldn’t eat in the restaurant and we ‘forced’ to drive to Essaouira.

Great place with beautiful apartments. The apartment was cleaned every day.

It is indeed very hard to find. It is on the way from Marrakech to Essaouria (the road R207). It is 5 kilometers after the village Ounara. If you drive from Marrakech to Essauouria it's on your left hand. You will see a big blue sign with 'Residence Hoteliere'. You can't get to the other side of the road there so you have to drive a little bit further and take a U turn back. The road to the residence is very bumpy.

The resort is in the middle of nowhere so it's very tranquil and peaceful. It is very clean and well kept. The Architecture and Interior are impressive. Very picturesque. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The free shuttle in to town is really handy so we were able to venture into the medina and stock up on food from the market.

The signpost for the resort is faded so we missed the turning completely. We were also looking for "Douar Souiri" but the signpost says "Residence Hoteliere". Breakfast and Dinner will have to be booked in advance, Hammam was out of order and the internet did not work throughout the duration of our stay.
