Very nice hotel located in the heart of the city between the new and old that is an oasis of peace and calm amongst the vibrant demanding streets of Tangier. A place you can easily retreat back to when you feel you need to refresh and take stock during your days schedule. Tipping is not essential but I would recommend this to show your appreciation to the staff as they can't do enough for you. In the early days the hotel played host to many famous people but I think those days have long gone and now us ordinary folk can enjoy this well presented hotel. If you pay by card upon check out the price is in Moroccan Dirham not Euros as suggested by Booking.com so make sure you have a calculator ready to check your bill is correct before paying. Our bill was correct and very fare but it does get confusing when presented with their currency on the spot!

apparently this is supposed to be the most luxurious hotel in tangier. it has an excellent view of the ocean, and we could see spain from our room! if u're planning on staying here be careful, the street outside the hotel is full of pickpockets! (the hotel staff forgot to mention this to us). My wife's iphone actually got stolen from her right oustide the hotel door! they told us we shud leave our phones, wallets and passports in the hotel for next time!!

The staff were appalling, inefficient and rude. The food was not from Planet Earth. And the driver of the hotel was actually a thief.

I loved the authenticity of the el minzah.we were on honeymoon and used it as a 2 night stop off having travelled up from 5 nights in Rabat, then over to Spain,so it was perfectly located for getting to the port to get the ferry.if you are looking for the luxury of a Hilton or sofitel, then this is not for you.however if you are looking for good old fashioned Moroccan hospitality and cuisine and that feeling of going back to the gentlemans clubs of the 50's or 60's,then you will not get better in tanger.also it's right on the edge of the medina souk(Market)so there's bargains and fresh fish fruit veg spices in abundance.the staff were very pleasant as well, very polite and helpful.don't think I could stay here for a fortnight, but as a stop off it's perfect.and yes jagger,Hudson, van dam,and many others did stay here, albeit,a good few years ago,and that's the whole thing about this place,it does seem to love in the past a bit,but some people may love this.each to there own!variety is the spice of life as they say!!

The worse hotel . Very high prices for the services that they can offer. The staff try to cheat every time. So we really advise to don't stay in this hotel if you are going to tanger. There is a new built Movenpick hotel so I think it's a better choice in Tanger. The staff cheats. Very high prices. Awful food. The staff deal with local people to cheat the foreign travelers. Old and not renovated rooms. We booked a deluxe room for 204 euros and in the arrival they give us a simple room for 270 euros.

The staff were very helpful polite and kind. We really did feel that we were treated very well. And the moroccan food at the hotel restaurant with the music and belly dancing! We felt a bit pressurised into using the hotel recommended guide and transport. We felt that they wouldn't offer us any advice other than use the guide

Staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. Rooms are also very simple but nice. There is no real poolside service. It was difficult to get the waiters attention to order drinks. We were also told that they could not deliver poolside snacks and it was only after pointing out that they had in fact already done this for other guests that we were also able to get some. The only let down for our otherwise faultless stay.

Reception was very welcoming and hospitable, the housekeeping staff very accommodating and charming. The breakfast room is in a beautiful area, however, the young waitress did not seem to be very willing to work on that day (26 April). She was just unpleasant, unsmiling and grumpy. Not the warm Moroccan welcome you usually get in Morocco. Another small or great disappointment, depending how you like your morning coffee; the coffee served was so weak that I needed a full jug to satisfy my caffeine urge. Usually a good strong cup is enough to last me a full day...Coffee is much better in one of the cafés next to the cinema Rif.

Mails checken is onmogelijk.
