This is not the most glamorous part of Fes to stay (a guy offered us hash on the way to dinner), but it was perfectly fine for us, arriving back from Tangier by train and taking a flight out the next day. The place is a little tired (especially the bathroom), but for the very low booking price, it represented good value and was far more comfortable than a more expensive dar we stayed at in the Fes medina earlier in our trip. The taxi to the airport was reasonably priced (about 18 euro, for memory).
On checkout, the guy tried gave a dodgy currency conversion from the price in euro on the booking confirmation. I pulled him up on it and he revised it down to what it should have been. Despite requesting a quiet room, we were given a room overlooking the train station entrance, rather than the internal garden. The room was quiet enough though.
Good location Wifi good yard
withn one week i stayed there, the floor of my room were not mopped, only vacum cleaned. prices in the restaurant are rather expencive compared with other sam type places.
Poor customer services
The pool is great
The slight sewage smell in the bathroom
Garden and pool are beautiful. Rooms are solid.
The staff knows how to be inaccessible, but manager fix things.
Good Parking and security for a large van. McD's and Pizza place just 1 minutes walk away. 5 minutes from the motorway. Very good alround.
Great location, just steps away from the train station. Taxi stand is also few steps away. The staff seemed helpful.
Unclean room. We could sometimes smell cigarette smoke coming from the A/C vent and the A/C itself was ineffective. The breakfast option was not great, with flies / bees everywhere near the 'sweet' foods.
Hotel charged my credit card, but at reception, they tried to charge cash again... We hardly could agee about the price at we booked 2 nights..reservation number didnt mean anything to them..
+ Very close to the train station + Nice and clean, big rooms + Very close to the mall in Fes. You have to see the mall, it is an experience in itself! It was great to see how Moroccan people still try to learn 'how to supermarket'
- breakfast not that great
- location was walking distance from train station - price was extremely good - free wifi in rooms - parking at hotel - staff was generally helpful - the exterior of the hotel was really good and they had a pool which is not common for Ibis - room service was very efficient and cleaned the room really well
- the room carpet was very unclean - there were stain marks - very unlike Ibis - the hotel also did not have the same cleanliness standards of other Ibis hotels I stayed in other cities in Morocco - We saw some flies come out of the bread basket during breakfast
This is a great location! It's located next to the train station, also has a taxi stand so you can literally grab a taxi anytime you want. And the beds are amazing. Excellent value for money.
One minor thing: breakfast was rather limited and is definitely something that could be improved.
Location is perfect, good for late train
We really appreciated the breakfasts - a good range of choice and we loved the local breads and coffee. The pool was very much appreciated as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We didn't try the other meals on offer as we felt they were a bit pricey compared to what was available outside.
Great location. Efficient hotel and staff were helpful.
- next to the Train Station - relaxed Pool / Garden Area - Bar Staff very friendly - one german speaking TV channel
- Breakfast closes more or less 30 Minutes before as advertised. We needed to ask for new Glasses and Soup Bowls, Tea was empty and they refused to refill it etc... Not worth the money. - the german speaking TV channel was RTL
Wifi works in bedrooms.
Extremely unhelpful staff. At 6pm, a whole long queue of taxi were waiting outside the taxi stand (literally just outside the hotel), the receptionist told us they might not be taxi the next morning. We said we needed to get a taxi at 5:30am in order to catch the flight. He said, there won't be any taxi and he can't book a taxi. I asked if he could just go outside and ask one of the taxi driver if they would want to pick us up if we pay extra money. He said no, he refused to leave the reception nor asking for his colleague to help. We said, "we will miss our flights because of no taxi, please do something". He reply he is not the person to ask, we said "please find that person". He then called someone over the phone. He then told us there would be taxi outside the stand at 4pm 5pm 6pm. We said "No, we want a taxi at 5:30am". He then said, there will be taxi outside but he can't book a taxi nor go outside to ask a taxi driver ( I was willing to pay 40euro for that 15km ride... it is usually 200MAD). Then we trusted this Ibis staff, and we were outside the hotel at 5:30am, NO TAXI at all. That person lied, and the receptionist at 5:30am was a different person already. This is absolutely ridiculous! If a riad could arrange a taxi why can't an INTERNATIONAL HOTEL do the same. We were waiting and knowing if we missed this flight, we would have to wait for 4 more days in order to catch the next flight. Perhaps that's exactly what Ibis wants. I will never ever stay in ANY Ibis hotels anymore. The bedroom was smelly. It was the A/C that produces bad smell (smells like something in between rubbish and durian). In a few words: A riad is better than this.
Location near the trainstation. Near decent restaurants with low prices. (Try Aladino for instance). Easy to get a taxi to the medina (less than MAD 10 per ride) A very nice garden with swimmingpool.
Our room needed some work. A very shabby carpet. The music in the garden. It would have been nice if it has been quite in the afternoon. If you pay with a creditcard you agree to a different currency conversion plus a mark-up rate of 3%. This is not told and you will find that out on your copy AFTER you have paid. On this copy your acceptance automatically has been filled in. It's not about a lot of money but it certainly is not the right way to do.
Location, swimmingpool, quiet in the big city
Just a little bit friendly
The hotel is much better than expected for the price. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. They have a lovely swimming pool with nice gardens
There wasn't anything we didn't like
Location very good. very affordable. Good comfort rooms.
I found way too many hair around room and bathroom.
I liked the fact that is located next to the train station, so if you need to leave early is a good option. The rooms are clean and comfy, internet works very well, so for the money I paid I got a pretty good deal.
Is not very close to the Medina, but then again part of the experience in Fes is to talk to the local people.
The gardens were beautiful, no time for the pool though! Location is awesome, right beside the train station, easy in and easy out!
Wish the breakfast was included, would have made the stay more cost effective as there were Not a lot of options close to the hotel.
