Without our own car my daughter and I didn't know where to go in the neighbourhood. The manager offered us the possibility of a driver in an old mercedes to show us around. I asked the price roughly, he didn't say "we will work that out just fine". Not very fond of 'open price' in Morocco, we went anyway, there was nothing to do in the small hotel.
We had a nice first hour, we visited the driver's niece and her kids in a farmhouse nearby. After that past many tajin and argan oil souvenirshops. We liked to hike for an hour. To our big surprise our driver walked us over a path full of trash, it appeared to be an old trash dump. That was no success. The next day the hotel manager asked us 100 euro for the trip, a ridiculous amount. We both stayed polite, but I did not agree and payed him 40€ For what we did and for the distance we rode, still too much. He cooked for us the evening before, but the price of 15euro pp was also really too high for the tasty but very simple meal. The manager's attitude over this money thing overclouded our stay, unfortunately. and we were happy to leave. Didn't have this experience before nor after during our Morocco stay.
The hotel was clean, our Atlas room spacious, with the amazing view over the Ourika valley and village, and the first Atlas mountains. From the roofterrace it was even more spectacular
