Lovely place to stay. Amazing staff. Wonderful food from fresh produce. Beautiful scenery. Some tips for future travellers- * take a torch, the 60 second walk from dining room to guest house at night can be slightly unnerving. * remember this farm is in a remote location so don't expect any shops outside. Take any items you might need with you. * go full board. Firstly because there are no food places nearby and more importantly the farm meals were amazing. Everything was delicious. * the area can get quite cold at night, bring appropriate clothing.
Nothing to complain about as such, but would have preferred oil filled radiators to the gas ones. Many of the negative comments for this place are down to people not understanding where they are staying. Read the hotel description and it's location.
Nice farm with nice animals. Staff was great and very friendly. Main house has a lovely fireplace which was always tended to. Very friendly owners.
Internet is only available in the main house. Main door of our bedroom had a broken latch. We could not lock the door of our room. Bathroom had no lock. In the four days stay, our room was poorly cleaned only once. Be careful, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. One of my girls got sick and there was no car available to take me to the pharmacy. A villager with a moped took me to the pharmacy 15-20 km away, a very scary ride. The food is very poor and very expensive. You have no choice in what you want to eat. If you needed a taxi, it had to come all the way down from Marrakesh. At night the place is very poorly lit. We had to buy a flashlight (torch) so we can find our room at night. For sure we will never go back, believe me, it is not worth the money.
Lovely peaceful setting. Great to wander around the farm and meet all the animals. The concept of growing all the food and having really fresh produce.
The rooms were exceedingly cold. Yes it's winter but having travelled in Morocco in winter before we've always had cosy open fires or stoves. There were a couple of very old gas heaters but they hardly took the edge off and no hot water in bath or shower. Also apart from dinner on first night I found the food a bit disappointing. This would be a lovely place for families in spring but if you go in December take thermals and blankets.
Location out of hassle of Marrakesh, lovely food. Paradise for children.
Rooms and bathrooms are simple, so you have to like it. No WiFi in rooms.
Much bigger and better than it looks in the photos! Mountain water swimming pool kept at good temperature all year and emptied onto the land every night. Fabulous views of snow-covered mountains. Fresh vegetables from the farm every meal, all food delicious (full board option recommended - 3 meals plus mint tea and biscuits at 5pm!) big idyllic gardens, spacious accommodation. Robert is a wonderful presence, takes such good care, even remembering how you like your eggs cooked at breakfast. A perfect gourmet retreat.
The fact we couldn't stay longer!
made to feel like a guest rather than a customer, delicious food lovely rooms - overall a really unique and lovely place to stay (great for young kids who will enjoy the animals and various activities)
After a few days amidst the beautiful chaos of Marrakesh this was the perfect counterpoint....an idyllic rural retreat on a working farm. Our secluded douriya was comfortable and spacious, could have quite happily moved in permanently! The pool is wonderful, the nightly draining (to irrigate the farm) and refilling means the sparkling clear water from the farm well requires no harsh chemical treatment....like swimming in the clearest mountain spring! Our engaging host Robert (and his wife Carole) was a fascinating source of information on the farm and the area. All the meals were delicious, and used the farm produce to great effect. A wonderful experience all round, highly recommend....
Cannot think of a single negative thing!
Owners were friendly helpful and informative. There was peace and quiet. This was a unique experience with a view of local life for true Moroccan villagers.
The bees and insects were constant companions. Eating was always outside with little shade available as chairs and tables were not in the best position. No air conditioning
staying on a real farm seeing animals very relaxing and welcoming ambiance very good location near the lake
expensive. I would improve dining options.
Carole and Robert have created a beautiful paradise. Jnane Tihihit is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Its' a perfect gateway and base to explore the high atlas. Carole and Robert were knowledgeable and helpful hosts.
This is a beautiful property! We enjoyed being on the farm, interacting with the animals and seeing the beautiful flowers and orchard. The room was very comfy, with an excellent bed and shower. I especially liked having some outdoor seating and a private courtyard. Overall, the little houses were very private and peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and gracious, and the staff were delightful. The food is very tasty and much of it is sourced from the farm itself. We enjoyed going with Carole, the owner, to the rural souk at Amizmiz. A unique experience! Thanks for a wonderful stay, Carole and Robert!
I ti sabsolutely iddilyc place on a footstep of Atlas mountains. Our 6 y o daughter loved to play in the children play house, to milk the caw and collect lemons in the garden. and we loved the food, swimming pool (every day they fill it with thermal water, +21, from the source and every night send the water for watering the garden and fill the pool again). Food is deliciouse, strongly recommed to take full board. We had a baby seater and hired exellent mountain bikes and had long ride in the beautiful surraunding. Thanks, Carol and Robert! We will be back.
great location as alternative to the city of Marrakesh (50 minutes by car) with delicious dinner and cosy chat near the fireplace in the evening
