The kasbah was absolutely magnificent, it really is set right in the middle of the palmerie. The staff, in particular Hakim were really lovely and helpful. We were taken on a fantastic donkey ride around the palmerie, which was very interesting and the children enjoyed it immensely as did we. The evening meals were delicious, there was plenty of great home cooking with fresh vegetables from the kasbah gardens. Our room was pleasant and clean but simple.

You definitely need a vehicle as it's very far from anywhere else to eat, and there isn't really a restaurant here, just meals at breakfast and dinner (although they will make something at lunch if you ask - but it did take a long time. Really for those who want to experience being isolated in the palmerie. Our stay was absolutely marvelous apart from one big thing which marred our memories a bit. At the end of our visit when we came to pay, we were given a bill for three times what we were expecting to pay. Basically we were told that the price we were quoted through Booking.com for three nights was actually really the price for one night! We luckily had our original reservation form from Booking.com which clearly stated that what we had been quoted was for three nights, but it was rather awkward and took a lot of discussion. After we showed Mohammed the reservation on the computer too, he agreed to charge us what we had been expecting to pay. So if you stay just best to double check on the price first. However Mohamed seemed like a nice person and we did really enjoy our stay here and would recommend it for its great atmosphere.

This must be one of the most interesting places to stay in Morocco. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the owner and staff were very helpful, but discreet, with superb and plentiful food supplied from the garden in which the dining area sits. The surrounding oasis was wonderful for exploring on foot or by bike, with amazing kasbahs just hidden in amongst the palm, olive and almond trees. The tour up to the top of the kasbah, built by the owner's grandfather, is not to be missed, either in the morning or at sunset. The singing of the nightjar in the palm tree was fantastic. We hope to return to stay longer next time and visit also further up the Valley of Almonds.
