We loved everything about the hotel...its position, the friendliness of the staff, the hotel facilities and the cleanliness
great garden and large room with patio.. staff very nice if not always getting it quite right.. location is great cause in the Medina but away from the hubub.. garden is even further escape..
service was spotty in quality but effort was good
Amazing hotel, service was outstanding, the staff could not have been more attentive. In the heart of the city, yet extremely peaceful and beautiful gardens / pool. Great breakfast buffet and we also dined at the hotel where the food was very high quality.
Wish we could have spent longer there !
The free desert in the room was something you wouldn't forgot for the rest of your life and the staff were very helpful.
I was looking for a 5 stars hotels through Booking.com and set the filters subsequently. When I found this hotel I was amazed by the hight score from other bookers and the beautiful pictures, however the minute I arrived at the very aging closed door of this residence explained everything. This is not anything near HOTEL except for its cost, it was rather an old refurbished house which cost a fortune while its roofs couldn't hold the rain. There was no Internet except in the reception. And its location is in the heart of the old town "madena". All of this was ok if I was not trying to escape from them.
Very well appointed hotel with excellent facilities and helpful, friendly staff.
The hammam got booked up so quickly!
Almost everything. Pretty much all you could ask for. Would definately recommend and will be staying again.
Restaurant service was at sometimes slow, but the staff are so friendly that you can't even begrudge them for it!
Super friendly and professional staff, beautiful garden and pool, beautifully decorated rooms.
A bit of a walk from the square and le souk, but not far by any mean.
I have stayed here about 8 times over the past ten years and keep returning as it is an outstanding riad in every way. Whilst being close to the medina it is an oasis of calm with wonderful gardens, pool, restaurant and the staff are first class. Nothing is too much trouble!
The enormous terrace to our room, overlooking the pool. We left the patio doors open at night and looked at the stars while we slept! Excellent facial and Hamman, and we loved the tortoises! We loved Luc, the GM, who came round every day and chatted to the guests. The attention to detail was amazing - when I rang the desk and simply asked the question "can you ring room to room?" they replied "yes, madam, just dial 102" (my son's room number ...)
Having to leave to go home!
The room was lovely and the details were beautiful. I absolutely adored everything about our stay. The hammam was wonderful and the scent in the room was very nice. The bathroom was large and the courtyard was peaceful. Very open and breezy, birds were chirping in the morning. The restaurant food was tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated inside the kasbah so getting there by car is a bit tricky but such a fun adventure. If you can not manage the tight driving inside the kasbah, there is a place to park outside and walk through. One more mention about the great staff, they gave me a little gift for my birthday and it was a nice surprise.
Wish we could live here
Everything was great, nice hotel, big rooms, very comfortable
Found service at the pool area and bar area on the slow side of things
tucked away in the busy Medina on a quiet street you would think its a hidden paradise. the staff are very professional and always trying to help. every corner of this hotel holds/hide something its truly magical.
Room (got an upgrade) Service / Staff Location if you want to avoid the chaos of the center
Food Not very clean (paper on the floor, waiters pass by several times and don't pick it up, guess it was someone's else responsibility. Coffee spoon really dirty on breakfast table), towels on the sun beds were humid and dirty (2 out of 3 used)
Location is pretty good - 20 mins walk to the main square. We were upgraded on arrival to Solarium room (the room itself is not huge - approx 20 sq m excluding bathroom but it has a small but cute balcony and on the floor above a private terrace with two sunbeds and a shower - we didn't use the terrace much as it is too hot during the day, but the whole thing creates a sense of personal space and privacy). We normally stay in big luxurious hotels and it took us a day or so to get used to the rustic colonial feel of the room here, and eventually we started liking it. The garden and the swimming pool are not that big but adequate. Hotel personnel are helpful, pleasant and well trained. Overall I would describe the experience as cute and comfy rather than luxurious.
We looked at the room type which we originally booked - Garden room - and those were dark and lacked privacy. If we had not been upgraded, we would have probably moved to another hotel. So make a decision on room type when you book. Breakfast is included in the room rate but pretty poor selection. The hotel is advertised as 5* but lacks a sense of luxury. Rooms and bathrooms quality is not bad, but they are crying for some updating and upgrade which would make the experience more luxurious. For example, TVs are probably probably 20 inches. A couple of pieces of more luxurious furniture and/or soft furnishings would help greatly. Also, there is a lack of 5* luxury in bathrooms (although in fairness they are adequate). Overall, a very pleasant stay though. Would recommend the hotel provided you get Solarium room or better.
Bedrooms & Decore Products in the bedrooms Garden - lush very tranquil and so pretty Swimming pool and loungers Terrace for breakfast Music really nice Quality of food Free beverages around the pool Choice of food at breakfast Overall decor of the hotel very Morroccan but with a contemporary twist
beauty treatment - nail polish not very good came off after a day Time to get served around the pool for lunch was sometimes very slow Breakfast hot food could have included a few more just vegetarian dishes
An oasis of calm and pleasure off of a busy street
Nothing at all
The staff (reception, restaurant etc) were wonderful and very friendly. I was travelling with my daughter who has an allergy to gluten and from our very first meal (lunch), they knew and brought her cornbread. They also paid a special attention to a birthday and we heard they were very attentive and kind to honeymoon couples. The location is not far from main tourist attractions but it is easy to get lost and you need to be vary careful who you ask. My daughter had already had her I-phone stolen before we got to this hotel, when we were lost (or actually pointed in the wrong direction on purpose) so tourists be careful! The breakfasts in this hotel were also great with everything you could wish for, including moroccan specialities. Great lunches also but evening meals slightly disappointing. Our room had a lovely balcony, fan and airco and was very spacious so very comfortable.
A very small point - salad nicoise was on the menu but wasn't possible to order it (you could only have salad of the day) - I would suggest they are slightly more flexible with the menu. This could also be due to a communication issue (our French wasn't good enough.. so our fault). But really no complaints as it was a delightful hotel!
gorgeous place to stay. staff were most helpfull. It was so nice we did not want to leave.
Food was average Location a little to far from souks Didn't need the solarium as it was all too hot and concentrated ..the trees needed cutting back.
This is a real 5* oasis which you would never guess from the unassuming entrance is a rather scruffy medina street. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The staff are without exception quite delightful and can't do enough to help. The hotel is traditional but quite lovely particularly with the mature gardens surrounding the pool.
Can't think of anything
The service was immaculate. From luc the gm all the way through to the general staff maintaining the hotel. Felt welcome and overwhelmingly indulged, especially against the back drop of what is a rather hectic medina. Recommend.
Peace and tranquility!
An oasis of calm within a frenetic/lively city. Fantastic gardens. V friendly and competent staff. Excellent breakfasts, fresh orange juice to die for. Rooms excellent.
Whilst still in the Medina, was a fair trek to the main sites. Tea facilities in room, no coffee.
Marvellous garden; friendly staff; good food; nice rooms
