This riad was beautiful and very creatively redone. Everywhere you looked, you saw something lovely. It was also very, very clean and comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was ample and delicious. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Central location. Staff very friendly and helpful, providing local information and maps without being asked. A porter was sent to the bus statin to collect us, free of charge. Excellent value for money.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff and great location

Great service at check-in to explain the sights and give restaurant tips. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. The accompanied trip to the Hammam was fantastic and I can thoroughly recommend it.

It was a great pleasure for me to stay in Riad Malaika. Every detail, every piece of furniture and decoration is chosen with great taste and love. Everything is organized with attention to guests wishes. I have felt as if visiting some close relatives that had been waiting me for a long time. Homely breakfast and relaxed dinner, useful advice and comprehensive information, I can’t imagine how it can be better than as is. Experience in local hammam can’t be compared to any touristic place. I was assisted with taxi from Marrakesh airport (at half a price I’ve been offered by the agency) and accompanied to the bus station. I even got a present when trying to understand unutterable name of some aromatic staff used in hammam. Thanks again to owners, Sylvie and Pierre- Marc, that make the riad so pretty and comfortable. Essaouira itself is worth praising. A sea-side town without crowds of sun-bathers, beach for strolling and playing football. Medina more relaxed and spacious than in other Morocco cities with smiling local people and no cars allowed. Small fishing port, blue boats, old Portuguese fortress and freshest sea food. After 2 days in Essaouira I joined a group and we had a journey through Morocco staying in fancy hotels with spa and pools, sleeping in desert and watching the sand hockey – Morocco is full of wonders for travellers. But the best place in Morocco for me is Essaouira, and the best place in Essaouira is Riad Malaika. I’m already making plans to return.

Good sized rooms, especially the top-floor suite; everything very clean. Cosy feel to ground floor sitting areas; decor and furnishings in traditional style.

Limited space for breakfast (just a few tables at a sensible height for eating); breakfasts tended to vary from day to day in terms of the range of items offered. Lack of 'hands on' personal involvement of owners - manager very efficient and pleasant, but gave the place the feel of a small hotel rather than a home from home.

Riad ambiance - authentic, designed with great attention to detail, making you feel at home. Room - simply perfect - the apartment on the top floor, clean and cosy. Riad team - friendly and genuinely aimed at helping you out with what you need.

Very welcoming, friendly, cosy, stylish and relaxing. The staff were always helpful whether that be for refreshments etc or advice on anything in the town. Lovely breakfast every day available all morning. WiFi also good.

No views from the room but the rooftop terrace made up for it.

Attention to detail, personal service, & nothing was too much trouble for any of the lovely staff. The building itself has been beautifully renovated with all rooms being individually decorated using traditional Moroccan items, interspersed with some modern twists. Although my friend & I only stayed one night, we had a wonderful time there, & were given lots of helpful information on arrival by the manager to enable us to make the most of our short stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful traditional + modern design, great roof terrace for breakfast, amazingly friendly and helpful staff.

The room was simply stunning.

Nowhere to hang the showerhead so you had to hold it by hand. Also the hotel itself is not where Google Maps indicates it to be and its poorly marked on the building itself. You'll probably end up paying a guy a few Dirhams to take you to the place like we did.

Excellent value for the money. Riad Malaika transports luggage and guides you from bus station to riad and returns you to the bus station. Good advice about restaurants.

Rooms were on the small side, but you get what you pay for.
