There were cockroaches in my room, the staff were not helpful to the point of being rude, the powerpoints in my room didn't work, nor did the television. There are plenty of hotel options in the same area - I would advise to look elsewhere.
The location of Hotel Oudaya is excellent, just off a main road with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops and its also really close to the bus and train stations. The hotel was really clean and the staff were very pleasant. The swimming pool was a big bonus as temperatures did reach 43 degrees during our stay.
I couldn't fault this hotel
The staff are lovely Location is good
Rooms are dated
Lack of Wi-Fi in Oudaya 1.
Lovely clean simple rooms and terrific pool. The location was great with a supermarket across the road for those little necessities. It was a 5-10 taxi ride to the Medina but no probs. Loved loved the pool - a little cool still but early in season
For the size and quality of the hotel, the price was great. Our rooms had balconies that looked down on the pool area. The pool was clean and not crowded. Located in the middle of the new town, it was close to shopping, cafés and restaurants. We will definitely return here.
The breakfast buffet offered a lot of food but the quality, including the coffee, was not great. Instead we went around the corner and got a fabulous Moroccan breakfast for about the same price. Wifi was available only in the lobby.
No access to the internet in the rooms. Breakfast was fair.
Great place to get out of medina. Or overnight to catch a plane.
patio and pool area are nice
No complaints at all.
Nice pool area
The location was off the main road which made it easy for us to flag a taxi to the Medina.
I have absolutely nothing good to say about this hotel. Me and my girlfriend went backpacking between districts for a week, and booked this hotel through booking.com. The staff couldn't care less about the guests. Firstly, they could find our booking on their system but luckily I had the confirmation email on my phone (we were backpacking afterall) to prove we had. Before the proof the receptionist accused us of not reserving and just walking in. The bellboy showed us to our room without helping us carry anything. This wasn't the issue, but him tutting at us walking slightly slower than him was. We finally got to this dingy little room at the back end of the hotel with a view of the bin area. The room did not come with bathroom gels as advertised (We brought some shampoo from the shop for an extortionate price - triple what you would pay anywhere else), and the shower was cold and weak. All the way through the night the AC made horrible, very loud clunking noises which kept waking us up. At 4am we both woke up and were out of water so I walked to reception to see if I could buy some. There was a man wearing the hotel uniform sitting on one of the reception chairs just on Facebook. I asked him about buying water, and all he did was glance at me briefly and look back to his laptop without saying a word. I tried again and got the same response. In the end I just went back to the room unsuccessful. In the morning we asked the receptionist if there was anywhere nice for breakfast closeby (as we didn't want to eat the stale bread they advertised as breakfast) and she just barked "NO - Breakfast closed in Marrakech" and went back to her personal call. We tried to complain about the service and staff to the receptionist as we paid and we were met with nothing but disinterest as she wouldn't end her personal call to listen to us. Please just don't stay at this hotel.
watch out the step in the lobby!!!! I broke my foot bone there!!!! No help from hotel. They ask if I need a doctor and then disappeared. I had to organize transport to hospital by myself.
Great location, with on-site parking a bonus. The reception staff were helpful. The room was of a good size and comfortable. Good value for money.
We booked a room with a balcony but were given one without, so were promptly moved when we pointed this out, It took almost an hour to transfer our luggage !! The breakfast was dire, The coffee was awful and Orange juice powdered. Sad when you know that Oranges grow all around Marrakech.
Nice setting, clean room, on the whole helpful staff
Strange rule about not bringing any food or drinks into the hotel (even water - essential in hot weather). We complied the first day and bought from the bar but when we realised it was TWICE THE PRICE of cafes/ restaurants in the street we ate and drank outside. I think this is a disgrace - charge fair prices and people will eat/ drink in the hotel but charge double and people will go elsewhere!!!
The pool looked ok, but didn't bother going in.
We booked three rooms, all with balconies. On arrival, we discovered that the rooms didn't have balconies and we had to call down to reception to get someone to come to the rooms to switch on the air conditioning, because they've removed the control knobs from the air conditioning units! The rooms were quite dirty and worn, we staying in better Riads much closer to the Medina. Even the places within the Medina were better value. Upon complaining about not receiving the rooms we'd booked, I was told there were none of the rooms available which we'd booked. I was baffled at how this was even possible, considering we'd booked over 2 months in advance and they had not even informed us about it! In fact, I was told that we were lucky that we even had rooms, because apparently some people a week previously turned up and didn't have the room available that they booked. When I asked to speak to the manager, the lady at reception continued to be rude, dismissive and patronising, stating that the manager was not at the hotel and wouldn't be there until the next evening. - Conveniently, after we would have vacated the hotel, and she knew this. When I asked for her name, she refused several times. Sliding the business card of the hotel onto the reception desk! She eventually gave me her name as Salwa Yazane. I'm not even sure if this is her real name, but I've never experienced someone who is working in a customer service role to be so appalling at providing customer service. I was actually quite upset about this experience and would not recommend this hotel at all!
location, swimming pool
wi-fi very limited, breakfast should contain more traditional food, no air-con in the bedroom, bathroom wasn't properly clean
Air Con worked well
Female on reception was rude and unhelpful. The male on reception was not only rude but disrespectful to the women in our group and dismissive of us as paying customers
Lovely inner court yard with pool. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. Breakfast was lovely.
First room smelt like cat urine. Saturday night lots of street noise. Staff not always well informed. For example, receptionist stated tipping was 33%, when it really is more like 10%. Made an international call and staff tried to over charge.
wifi worked in the room
>Staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. They never seemed to have time for you, and if they were on the phone would tell you to come back in 15' or to try the other reception etc. >Location is ok, but 30 (quick) minutes from the big square, walking along the main road. >Breakfast was very disappointing - ice in watery orange juice, dry bread, a few olives, tomatoes and pastry. Not nicely presented. Staff not attentive at all. >Hotel caters to large groups and came across as totally unpersonal. There are so many nice places in Marrakech Old Town - would definitely not stay here again.
Nice area, friendly staff
Wi-fi didn't work, very basic room
Everything was nice. The staff and the room. The cleaning ladies sere wonderful.
very good staff who cleaned our room. good attitude, always friendly and happy. Tasty breakfast was served, but little to choose from. Great to have his dog with him at the hotel. The room, toilet / bathroom clean and fresh. There was nothing that we lacked. Good service.
Bad garage but nice staff. The staff who work then we eat breakfurst was really sour and not friendly. Before we was finnich to eat the staff take away my cofie. Without to say excouse. This women WHO clean up ours room are a good teatcher to the staff who work with breakfurst. I can think come bak aigen but I hop the staff have litle more training in what they are working with. I mean breakfurst staff.
receptionists, room view, convenient location
Bed sheets and room service in general, no wifi in the rooms, food, shower (no hot water, but warm), TV working every second time
