We stayed in a suite and it was lovely. Loads of space with a comfortable bed and nice lounge area too. The breakfasts were OK, buffet style. The fruit is fresh and chocolate croissants are divine. The mint tea is not that good, though. Stunning pool area, very convenient having a restaurant and bar in the hotel. The view is great, you can see most of the medina from here.
We had problems with the extractors not working in our room, they minimized it at first; lied to me on the second instance and in the end it was never resolved. We also found out that mid-stay they had switched the AC from cooling to heating (without informing anyone). This is bizarre because the AC has a heat / cool switch, so if you want heat you simply switch to heating. I think this excuse, too, was a load of bull.
Staff is by far the most friendly and helpfull staff I have ever seen. The junior suites are very comfortable. The building itself is a gem with both the interior and exterior design.
We loved this place! It was beautiful, location was excellent, and the staff were exceptional. They accommodated our every need. As far as I'm concerned this is the ONLY place to stay in Fes. The facility is exceptional...and the service and staff were out of this world.
stunning hotel, amazing views, exceptional staff. Delicious breakfast of local style pancakes with savoury chutneys or honey, followed by eggs to your liking, then i had smoked salmon with local soft cheese on toast, then fruit, then chocolate mouse, then pan au chocolate, then mini donuts ...... you get the picture! Spent a fab afternoon in the spa enjoying a hammam then a scrub and a massage. You can easily walk into the medina - follow the city wall 100m & go in the second gate.
I think i've noticed a similar comment - i cut my hand on the pool tiles. But you are staying in an authentic 18th century palace, so the occasional uneven surface is to be expected.
Staff English poor and everything seemed a bit of a problem for them. Maybe teething problem which will improve hopefully because its such a nice place.
It was a pleasure after long days in the confined alleys and bustle of the medina to stay in such a spacious former palace so well renovated and beautifully decorated in style with tiles, plasterwork, furnishings. And it has a library, a pool, and plenty of places to sit and relax and admire the hills beyond or the craftsmanship of the building. The staff are very attentive and friendly
I booked two suites and the receptionist gave me an upgrade for one of them without me asking for it ... very good start. Suites are very spacious and luxurious and facilities are Superb.Great location .... very close to Medina and with grat view to the surrounding mountains. The staff are very professional and they always give us a good privacy as a familly ... they are there to help but from a distance.
Not a single thing
Evererything is wonderful. Accomodatios, service, clealiness... Is a espetacke of dreams.
The foood does not mach the Hotel. By the way, I really bad.
The staff were extremely friendly and took care of our needs. The seating at the lobby was really good.
The location is really bad, nothing around you and the entrance for cars is externally dangerous. The TV did nor work most of the time and had to adjust the cable connection at the back. The bathroom smelled really bad as someone vomited inside.
We stayed three nights. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's quiet, very clean and comfortable- very intimate. The staff is extremely friendly. The spa atmosphere is relaxing with amazing Orange Blossom scents. Tours and drivers can be set up through reception with no issues at all. I would stay here again in a flash.
The staff is very friendly, however the service is a bit slow. As an example, if you are at the pool you have to go to the reception to ask for service. They will pass you by even when waiting on someone else close by. One tiny suggestion to the hotel would be to play Moroccan music in the bar and restaurants. It would really set the scene. Western jazzy type music is not what we come to Morocco to hear.
beautiful old moorish palace beautifully redone with all modern facilities. After over 60 years of travel, hospitality beyond any expectation.
Excellent quiet hotel around the corner from the medina. Likely the best restaurant in Fes.
Wifi is a bit weak.
Everything! Staff, food, accommodations, cleanliness, room but most of all the staff. In particular one of the managers, Kevin went above and beyond in taking care of us. We will definitely return and highly recommend it.
Absolutely fabulous stay
No indication for mecca
Fantastic restaurant, with the best view of the madinah.
The hotel is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The tour I booked was a bit dissapointing. After the cultural part, the tour guide may have got back handers from his mates shops, as he only let me to shops and left me there alone with the sales people. Even after I told him being annoyed by this, he kept on driving me to shops instead of visiting the Dar Batha Museum or the Jardin Jnan Sbil.
Absolutely everything from the cleanliness, the hotel staff to the spa.
Wifi is not always the best signal everywhere, however, we are suppose be there and relax not surfing on internet.
Staff very attentive, extremely helpful, even getting train tickets for us. Not searching for a tip either. Recommended.
One of the tour guides may have got back handers from his mates shops. Paying the final bill was stressful as morocco and UK didnt like to speak regards credit card payments. No fault of the hotel whatsoever.
Hospitality Kindness & willingness of staff
Stunning interior architecture. Unique, traditional refinement with all the latest comforts. Beauty everywhere you look. Style, attentiveness, discretion of staff. No exception. Immediate response to all requests. Quality/price value. Got a great recommendation for dinner. Courtesy chauffeur to take us to competing restaurant! Arranged fun, highly knowledgeable guide (Abdul) to tour the Medina. Great views from top floor. Free WIFI worked flawlessly. Lovely pool. Palais Faraj simply made our stay in this extraordinary city.
Not a single negative point ( we stayed 5 nights)
Try the food at the terrace restaurant. We loved it there.
Ideally located at the top of the Medina. The facilities are excellent, very clean, and retaining the character of the original palace.
The selection of food, especially the casual food bar service was limited.
Everything...the suites (the smallests were super), bathrooms, shower. Nice bed with very confortable sheet (600) nice cosmetic for guests. The staff was incredible and made everything easier during our stay. The restaurant had excelent food and wines besides a super overlooking view over the medina. Strongly recommend if you want to see a restored palace from inside.
Few options in the international cuisine Restaurant prices elevated (offsetting the nice prices for the suites) No alcohool (only wine at the restaurant. No alcohool at all at the minibar)
