The place i think perfect, because we didnt heard when people prayed, close to Djema el Fna, personal were good too, friendly, explained everything :)
we didnt like that wc, bathroom were not separated by a door.
Breakfast was really good and the location, even if different, was pretty good. Ten minutes walk from the main square. We phoned at our arrival in the city and they came to find us. The housekeeper was very nice. The bedroom was big and comfortable, just a bit dark because on the first floor.
After being taken to Riad 34 to fill out the paperwork, we were then taken to another Riad five minutes away. It wasn't really a problem for us, but just beware because it's different from the pictures. The bathroom was a bit dirty: we found lots of hair in the plug and dirt on the toilet.
The decoration The team
The location: the neighborhood doesn't feel too safe The noise: like in any riad, if one of your room neighbors is noisy, you'll know it.
friendly hosts, very nice terrace, about 5 minutes from djemaar efna, i would definitely recommend it
hard to find, without guide quite impossible. no wifi in a room. open bathroom
Had a great stay at Riad 34 - it is a very small and personal Riad, with very helpful staff who were very knowledgeable about the area and spoke good English. Our room was basic but perfect for what we needed it for. We had a lovely breakfast every morning, and stayed in the Riad for couscous one night, which was very tasty. Great location - hard to find at first but in a lovely quiet area, and close to the main square. Overall we had a great stay at Riad 34 and would definitely recommend it.
This Riad is located 10 min walk away from Jamal el Fna, in a quiet street. It has a nice terrace on the roof. We had a room on the top floor with a very nice bathroom, quality towels and toiletry products. The staff was also very friendly and helpful and breakfast is home made.
Cleanliness Staff going at lengths to help in everything I needed Convenient location close to Bahia Palace, Saadi Tombs, two central roads, and the Jama-el-Fnaa square Value for money. They also offer excursions to other places in Morocco such as Essaouira and Ouarzazate at competitive prices
as far as I understood, this riad owns two or three blocks in the city. we stayed in the second one, a bit hidden but very traditional and private. the staff was great, really polite and helpful.
Staff very nice, very helpful Ok value for money
Location a bit dodgey Shower too small Not much light, a bit claustrophobic
friendly hosts, very nice terrace, about 5 minutes from djemaar efna, i would definitley recommend it
hard to find, without guide quite impossible.
Rashid gave us a lot of good pieces if advice!
Pictures look nicer than reality, but the raid is still not bad.
Lovely breakfast, nice friendly staff, quiet location.
We asked for an extra bed for a child but it was not provided. Also arranged for an airport pickup but were not collected so ended up getting a taxi!
quiet place in the heart of the medina really nice tours from the hotel
really difficult to find and then we had to stay in another riad close to what we booked (this happens often with tourists in marrakech) but the conditions where much poorer(no wifi, no tv etc..) they apolegised and offered a free lunch
We arrived late at night at the riad and were informed we had to go to another pne, which was further away and seemed to be totally unused. The rooms were smaller and the bathroom stank so awefully, since the whole shower floor was covered in fungus. The bedsheets were defenutely used, probably by a couple, as the stains suggested. There was no wifi and additionally to all that it was raining heavily the whole night into the patio, so that everything was wet inside. This was not even a 1star hotel stay, let alpne anything compared to the inside of Riad34. The staff guy iffered us to reduce the cost for one of the cheaper rooms, but let us pay for the more expensive obes, which wecdidn't even get! Also no private entrance to the room. When we asked the Riad directly afterwards for compendation of zhe hassle of movibg riad in the middle of the night and getting the opposite of what we booked, they refused. Totally not recommended.
Rasheed was very friendly, helpful and welcoming - we noticed he spoke multiple languages with ease when assisting the other guests. We availed of the airport taxi service and he met us at the parking lot on the main street to direct us to the riad. The location is in a quiet side street - might be hard to find the first time as there are no clear street signs but can be navigated by noting landmarks. It's close enough to the souks and the square to be convenient but not too close that the noise from outside is a problem. Palais Bahia is very close by; worth seeing especially because the entrance fee is only 10 dirham - also the spot to see plenty of adorable cats lounging about if you are a feline lover.
The wi-fi did not work in the room - but understandable as the walls were rather thick. Sound carries around the riad so be prepared to hear flushing toilets and conversations echoing randomly!
Beautiful Riad, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast.
Rooms are not well sound insulated so it can be noisy at times.
Very nice, well decorated Riad. Very close to Jemaa el Fna. The personnel is really helpful
The space of the shower is a bit little. But it´s not really important because the rest is fine
Helpful & kind personal. Near to the main Square, good decoration, big rooms, very quiet place in the night: perfect to relax after the day.
The design, comfort and cleanliness of the rooms are excellent value for the prices. The location is good for people who are looking for practicality but you still need to walk a while before reaching the main square or some touristic highlights inside the Medina.
We went on a tour to the Zagora desert, which was an offer from the hostel. We had to pay a lot of "extra"s other than the price we pre-payed for the whole tour. I don't suppose the other tour companies are much different in Marrakech, still, think ahead.
the night reception and the staff were nice, he picked us up from the parking place and walked us to the riad. the driver was waiting for us at the airport despite 1.5 hours waiting.
location, 20 minutes walked to the main square and a little bit run down street - wifi, did not reach the third floor - no shower curtain , which a little bit arkward if you are going with friends ( different gender) - the same breakfast every day - from day 1 to day 5 , our room never been cleaned, ( later they told us because we kept our keep with us, i reckon they have spare keys?
- very nice staff - clean facilities - great location - reasonable price - rich breakfast
- echo in the house
Poor quality food Incredibly hard pillows Incredibly hard bed Broken shower Unbelievably noisy You couldn't even pay me to stay at this Riad again. I didn't sleep at all during the stay and ended up moving to a different Riad which was amazing and only £4 more per night. I contacted Salima (the manager) to inform her of our dissatisfaction and she has ignored my email.
The Riad 34 is a nice Riad, with good rooms and nice atmosphere. However, this was the only thing, the rest of the story was absolutely disappointing on a personal and quality level!
We booked the riad for a small group of yoga travellers on two different days. Booked were 3 rooms, of which 1 was supposed to have it´s own entrance + 1 single bed + double bed + sofa. First of all we never got this room, although the rooms in the second floor we had were really nice, but hence the price for the bigger room didn´t correspond although it was still charged the same. The first time we stayed all was good, staff very nice, breakfast good. However, the story on our way back one week later was totally different. Due to problems on the highway from Ourzazate to Marrakesh we arrive tired late at night. I had informed the day time staff (which we hadn´t met before) via phone that we´d arrive later than foreseen. The staff then said: "When did you book? The riad is already full with Italians." I replied this can´t be, as I booked more than a month ago. The staff than said they were going to check the reservations again and don´t worry, someone will be waiting for us. When we finally arrived midnight, the night shift (very friendly) opened us and had to inform us, that we could either only have 2 rooms instead of 3 or we could go to another riad. Annoyed at the situation after such a long travel we decided for the other riad, 5 min. walk away but in an small windy street. It was raining, so it added up on the whole situation. The riad loked like it hadn´t been in use for a long time and it had a smell of being unused. The rooms were ok, very small though, compared to 34. We negotiated and the night shift finally agreed to let me pay only 2 rooms, but of course the most expensive room (which we never got anyways) stayed on the bill! Furthermore, oh shock, what I just saw late at night after we came back from a quick dinner, the whole shower floor was full of mold, the bathroom super smelly. The bed sheets were definitely not washed and full of stains from sex.
Nice decor in the room and riad in general, clean room and friendly staff.
Our 'superior triple' room was located just off of the busy main court yard with just a curtain and ill fitting door separating you from the chatter of other guests. The bathroom couldn't physically have been any smaller and the described air conditioning was non existant. The lack of even a basic fan made for a hot and uncomfortable night. You get what you pay for, so for £22 it wasn't bad.
Very clean, friendly, quiet place , right in the middle of the Medina at minutes from Palais Bahia*** and less then 10 min to walk to "The Place" ( aka Place Jamal el Fna***) Big and comfortable rooms in an authentic old Riad of the Medina, very well restored and decorated (not kitsch, not over decorated either) Typical Riad sized room : 10ft large by 20ft long with a high ceiling (about 12ft) Hearty breakfast (a mix of continental and Moroccan) with people from everywhere. Nice view and relax space on the roof. You can book trips to almost everywhere - from desert to Essaouira, Draa Valey, Ourika Valey, Dades Gorge, etc - with Rachid (one of the hosts) We highly recommend a trip to Essaouira one of most beautiful place of Morocco, in our opinion. Enjoy!
