Good location The night guard and all the staff were nice Hot water day n night Nice breakfast
No intimity, to survive the heat and the humidity you had to keep windows and doors open all day and night. No door in the toilet ! Completely exposed with the windows open. Humidity, and a smell of moisture everywhere, in all our clothes, eventhought it was august. Ideal conditions to grow mushrooms or for french cheese, not for humans! I couln't sleep because of the heat till 1a.m. when it would get more fresh. They said on the confirmation email that they would get me a fan but they didn't. Then they said that they would give me one on the second day, so i stayed a second day but they didnt either. Can't trust them!
Riad34 is a wonderful place, very convenient to visit Marrakech, and above all the people working there are truly nice and efficient. They helped us a lot during our stay.
Wi-fi does not work properly inside the room, you need to go downstairs in the common area. Beside this, it worked perfectly.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Riad was clean and tidy and the breakfast was delicious!
It was a bit difficult to find, but it's a nice and quiet street near the centre.
Rachid is the best, he makes the stay at the Riad a great plus, he gave us also good advice for everything
Nice, zen and quiet Riad with beautiful interior decoration.
You might want to ask a guide to lead you to the Riad as it is not easy to find when you get there first (but dont pay more than the going rate.(10-20 dm)
Riad 34 is very clean and rooms are generously sized with a sofa and ensuite. Decoration wasn't as traditionally moroccan as other places we stayed but felt the most clean and was nice and cool. Roof terrace is reasonably large and a nice place to sit in the evening. We were given free breakfast on out final morning which was nice and a lot of food and drink was served.
Little bit tricky to find at first as it is in a smaller set of lanes, but after we had found it the first time it was no problem after that. Could be a little bit more central (10-15min walk from square) but not too much trouble. Might be worth calling the hotel to get them to tell you how to get there, as fake guides are in this area and can be quite aggressive.
My mum and I had a fabulous time at Riad 34. Even though we had a problem with our maestro card they were extremely accommodating and helpful. Rashid is great for giving advice on where to visit and was extremely welcoming. Would defintely stay again as it was great value for money and the staff were brilliant.
We just stopped here for one night, arriving late on the train and leaving early in the morning for the airport. But the night staff went above and beyond for us, making sure we got fed, arranging a 4am breakfast and airport transfer, etc. Our short transfer through Marrakech could've been really stressful, but the staff made it great. Thanks!
The room was quiet and comfortable, but there were just one or two minor repairs it needed: the toilet wouldn't stop running, and there was nowhere to hang the shower head. It seems like this riad is being renovated (or has been fixed up a lot recently), since it is beautiful - so maybe these small repairs are just part of the process.
Very nice riad with friendly staff and charming rooms.
Poor wifi in the room and no eggs for breakfast but would of course higly recommend this place.
Al the staff is very simpatic.
FANTASTIC staff, so friendly and helpful. Rachid is literally the best guy ever! Great room and perfect location. Close to the square but far enough away to get a quiet night sleep. Nice breakfast and the best mint tea! We showed up with an extra person and they accommodated us easily. Rooftop terrace perfect for a bit of private sunbathing or an evening drink. Highly recommended!
A bit hard to find when you first arrive. Better to just bite the bullet and allow someone to guide you there for 10 dirhams or so (it is not possible for a taxi to drop you off in front of the riad).
Although it was hard to find in the middle of the night, once we finally arrived we were met with hospitality that endured to the end of our stay. Rashid was a great help and poored us a great cup of tea. We were able to call ahead when we knew we'd be late getting in, and were able to check in late. The room was affordable and right in the heart of the medina. Stay here, but either find a local to guide you or call for specific directions. Happy with our choice to stay here!
Hard to find but that's what comes with staying in the medina!
Lovely riad, great location, initially a bit tricky to find, like many other riads, very friendly & welcoming staff, offering useful tips. Would definately recommend
Friendly staff, comfortable room with an air-conditioning, calm place (there are about 3 other rooms rented), good location - about 10 minutes from a main souk, excelent price for that comfort
Finding the place can be a bit hard
Staff went above and beyond to give advise and help with any questions and further travel plans. We stayed in 2 different rooms in the Riad and both we're clean and cosy. Breakfast was delicious and a welcome inclusion. Location is great, a quick walk to the square. We were made to feel very welcome and would recommend friends to stay here.
Great location! around 5mins to Bahia Place, Badi Palace, less than 10 minutes Jemaa El Fna square and the Souks. We would recommend airport pick up through the hotel as it would be very difficult to locate the Riad when you first arrive. The staff were friendly and Rashad speaks English and was very helpful. Breakfast was lovely, excellent coffee, fresh orange juice and mint tea every morning. However everything is so sweet. it would have been nicer if they offer some cheese and olives now and again as an alternative every other day. The shower is so tiny. If I was size 14 and over I wouldn't be able to turn around in the shower. Wifi only works in the courtyard. Despite the minor negatives I would thoroughly recommend it, I would stay there again!
Open plan bathroom, no privacy. Even when you sit in the indoor court yard you could hear the toilet flush. The shower bracket was kept falling from the wall which was quite annoying. The room was not clean, the floor was dusty, dirty and hair was in the sink. We stayed five nights the room has not been cleaned or dusted. Towels were not changed. Bed only made twice.
friendly staff - Rasheed was excellent great breakfast
open plan bathroom - not really suited to everyone.
Everybody was friendly and very helpful, our room was lovely and comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Riad 34 is well located in the heart of the medina, only a short walk from Djeema el Fna. The first time it is a bit difficult to find, but we booked an airport taxi with the riad and Rasheed came to meet us at a car park just outside the medina. I definitely recommend this riad!
Heater was effective. Good breakfast (lots of bread).
We booked a triple room And upon arrival were told that it was already taken- given two double rooms so one person had to sleep alone. We were not able to pay on credit card, despite the website telling us those facilities were available. Hotel very out of the way- saw a drug deal take place nearby, the locals pestered us alot asking for 10 euros for unwanted directions. There is no bathroom door or complete wall so when having morocco-induced illness all dignity is lost. The staff had no maps nor advice regarding tourist activities. Their English was not great. They charged us more than initially stated and offered minimal explanation of mysterious taxes and credit card charges. Once the staff decided they didn't like us they have all the other guests pancakes except for us. Got out of there ASAP!
- very friendly and helpful staff
- hard to find, even shopkeepers at the same block doesn't know the place and map provided is incorrect - rooms are not as nice as public premises
Genuine and friendly welcoming from Rasheed and the hotel manager and other staff. Lovely homemade breakfast, beautiful palm trees inside the riad, good location in the old city to visit the famous square and souks, lovely terrace (unfortunately a bit cold to have breakfast in the terrace at this time of year).
The comments here are more to do with personal taste rather than any sort of criticism about the Riad: there was no separation between the room and the toilet - we found this a bit difficult to deal with but this is a Riad and they had to preserve the authenticity. The shower head's fixings had come off the wall- trivial thing but one expects it to be in good working order for the money paid.
Rachid was very helpful and welcoming.
Room never cleaned in four days 1 towel replaced on my request and bin emptied 1 time. Bed never made no other cleaning I asked other guests they had room cleaned. Room shabby and cold, heater not working blankets dirty. Breakfast cold. Construction going on in Riad for at least 4 hours over 3 days. girl told me it would be for 20 minutes only, no wardrobe or hangers.
The staff were lovely and very helpful, and also good for a chat! Breakfast was delicious! The riad is very well located, about a 10 minute walk (almost in a straight line so it is hard to get lost) from the main square The area felt very safe because there was security personnel hired by the local raids to make sure tourists get home safely at night.
The shower was a bit creepy but we were in the cheapest room and the lovely staff more than made up for it
Beautiful riad. The staff were very nice, especially Rasid was very helpful for pretty much everything. Good breakfast with orange juice, tea/coffee, some pastries and jams. There is new air conditioner which should be useful for warmer seasons. 15 mins walk to the main square.
There is only a partial wall separating the toilet/bathroom from the room, so no privacy. Even though the riad was refurbished, the bathroom, especially the shower was in a very bad condition with mould all around. The room was cold as it is december, heated with the air conditioner, which requires to leave it on all night, noisy...Even though we had no problems, neighborhood felt a bit creepy late in the night which I wouldn't advise for a solo traveler.
