Nothing was too much trouble: the staff was extremely polite, friendly, helpful. The location is easy to find and a big carpark available next to the riad. The room was very spacious with a big and comfortable bed. All amenities are very clean. Breakfast was very delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Kacem and team really took good care of us. This riad is cool and well-kept! - Breakfast is an amazing spread!
The staff were fantastic
Nothing to dislike
The generosity and kindness of the staff, the amazingly delicious breakfast, the location right next to a gate of the medina- easy to get in and out, the gorgeous decor and the rooftop view. Wifi was also really good in the common area and in one of the rooms we had booked.
I booked Riad Ahlam for my stay in FES and it was a great end to our morocco tour! Lovely terrace to relax from the busy streets, A place where you can enjoy the panoramic view of Fes Medina, clean rooms, fantastic breakfast and a great location. I will always remember how honest and helpful Kacem the host is.
Everything! Excellent food, service, room, view. They go out of the way, anything that you need. We had a great time there. People worked very hard in that Riad, they deserve 10 points. (Outside parking lot is dusty, but don't be worried. ) Also recommend the tour guide was suggested by the Riad.
Interior Decor and Breakfast
A little expensive
Organized, accomadating staff. Very comfortable beds. Good food And very accessible.
The riad is on the edge of the medina so easy to access and to get to one of the main exits at Bad Boujlouf where there are several restaurants. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast is very good, although rather too much for us to manage. The rooms are large and there is a great view from the rooftop,
The medina itself is a bit too much hassle and you feel you can't trust anyone to help honestly if you're not sure of where you are going.
Located in close proximity to the Fez Medina, stepping inside the door of Riad Ahlam is a beautiful and peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The staff makes you feel that this beautiful place is your home during your stay. Excellent food. The breakfasts are large and dinner is made fresh with food purchased from the medina that day if you request a meal. The large bathroom felt like your own small hammam spa. Great experience.
Very helpful manager and staff, both for inhouse and outdoor issues. Nicely restored riad. One of best communicated riads, only 40 m away from one of very few medina parkings and, at the same time, very close to main medina streets.
Staff (5*), location (5*), breakfast (5*) and facilities (4.5*, don't has a pool). The owner was super friendly and the waiters were great as well. You are received with mint tea. It's a very quiet Riad in a busy medina. It's located in the border of the medina which is great because you won't get lost (when you ask the cab from the airport, you need to ask him to go to the park in Ain azliten and call to the riad or ask the driver to do it, and the owner will get you and take you to the Riad). Breakfast is great and the waiters serve you on the table a great and varied meal.
Huge bedrooms and nice shower facilities. Nice decor Good tv channels Lovely breakfasts
Wifi not extending to upper rooms. No tea/coffee making facilities. Dimly lit rooms
The comfort of the double Room (1st Floor), with plenty of bright lamps. / the breakfast : delicious cheese omelet, fruit salad, fruits, in addition to the usual Morrocan breakfast served everywhere (what a nice change !)/ the location in a clean, airy and quiet part of the medina (east part). I really appreciated that M. Kacem showed me the way to go to the medina (though very close), contacted the next riad to fetch me and gave me an adaptor for my iPad ! By the way, Don't forget yours when you travel to Morocco !
To be asked too often if it was ok. I felt like being a guest, not like being at home.
Where do I begin? Riad Ahlam was by far the best accommodation I have had throughout all of my travels around the world.Kacem, Fatiyah and the rest of the crew made us feel at home, so much so that my boyfriend shed a few tears when we left. I would go back to Fes just to stay there. The food, the ambience, the aura. It would be foolish to stay anywhere else when you can be welcomed like you are family at Riad Ahlam.
We had a very pleasant experience. Will tell everyone we know to stay there when in Fes!
We were a group of five women traveling together, and we all LOVED the riad. Absolutely beautiful, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of every detail. Meals were prepared especially for us, and were the best we had during our stay. We were treated like family, and we felt like family. We'd all go back to Fes in a heartbeat, and we'd all choose to stay at Riad Ahlam.
We cannot recommend this Riad highly enough. This is definitely the place we will stay again. The location of the Riad was excellent - on the very edge of the Medina - so easy to find and only one minute's walk from the car park. The décor and ambience was totally authentic and the inner courtyard was so very beautiful and tranquil. Our bedroom was delightfully decorated and so comfortable with plenty of room and absolutely spotlessly clean. The shower room was the same. Breakfast was always served with a lovely smile by the delightful Fatiha and was most enjoyable and plentiful with a selection of fruit, bread, pancakes, eggs and yogurt. A great cup of tea as well which is a bonus for us Brits! Absolutely all the staff were fantastic - Najae and Nadia kept every inch of the Riad spic and span and were always so cheerful and Omar was the most pleasant and helpful night porter we have ever met. Kacem, the manager, arranged our taxis to and from the airport and also a driver to take us to other places we wanted to visit. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he looked after us so well. We felt more like family than visitors. We can hardly wait to go back again!
One of the best and favourite my hotel. Very good staff, good taste breakfest, beautifull rooms. I strong recomended this hotel for every people. To rzeczywiście idealny hotel dla obejrzenia medyny i Fezu. świetny personel, bardzo czysto, super posiłki. Pobyt w tym hotelu był dla nas przyjemnością.
The hotel manager was extremely helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. The breakfasts were also amazing!
Leaving the main avenue in Fes, we quickly were on a dirt parking lot with cars sprinkled every which direction. Three people jumped out, directed us to an empty spot (actually just an area with no car in it) and emptied our suitcases into a handcart. Following them we got to a narrow alley surrounded by what appeared to be many old, ugly, and uninviting stone faced building with no visible windows. My wife stopped right there and said, NO WAY. After urging, and reminding her we had no real options, we followed the men a short distance toward the alley when a pleasant fellow popped out to introduce himself as the hotel manager. We followed him down the alley to another alley, and then into the very basic front door of the hotel (RIAD). Surprise!!! The hotel was beautifully decorated, with plants surrounding a partially open air central courtyard, upon which the rooms on the second and third floor looked down. Most like an atrium in a US hotel, but with only about 8 rooms. Our reservation had been screwed up online and they only expected two of us. To say the manager was helpful would be unkind to him. We had driven most of the day from Tangiers, were hot, sweaty and tired, and he made us sit down for tea before showing us to our room. While this was going on, he upgraded us to a quad suite, with good A/C and very generous space. As we had arrived late in the afternoon with no money, and the banks were closed, he lent us almost $100.00 in local money from his own pocket to let us get dinner, as we couldn't get any local currency until the banks opened the next day. His expression was "you are family" and he went on to prove it over the next 2 days. Nothing we asked for was turned down, and my wife was invited into the kitchen by the cook upon our arrival. She came out relaxed and with an entirely fresh attitude about the hotel.
The approach to the hotel, if in the US would have kept us from even stopping, but this is Fes, Morroco, and once off the street (which was safe even at night) we enjoyed every minute. We learned from our hired tour guide the style in Fes is a most plain and unattractive front entrance, behind which hides beautiful shrubs, flowers, rooms and furniture. There was nothing here not to like.
Best staff we have ever encountered. Always smiling and always willing to help. It was great coming "home" to them, in a peaceful environment after the hectic medina. They really are exceptional!! The riad itself is incredibly beautiful and luxurious while still clearly a previous glorious moroccan palace. The room has a TV, bathrobes, is beautifully decorated. We had a lovely terrace too. The communal terrace on the rooftop is great to look over the medina and for sunsets. A taxi can take you a few steps from the hotel, even though it is a 5 minute walk from the most important sights in fes medina. Last but not least, the breakfast was the best i had in morocco. This riad really has everything you need in fes. An excellent price quality option, we stayed at riads that were almost double as expensive but not half as good... Regards from the Belgian grandmother and her two grandkids!
Amazing staff, Kacem, Fatiya, Reja and Omar all treated us like family. The Riad is spotless and really well maintained. No request was ever a problem. Food was excellent. Located yards from the medina within the walls.
Lighting in the room could be better.
As in the precious reviews, we had ever need taken care of for us by the excellent manager (owner?) from a meal the first night we arrived to washing some clothes to Moroccan tea whenever we might need a sit down in the cool. We have never felt so looked after! I will now never stay anywhere else while in Fes.
Internet was really only in common areas, but it's not much of a criticism as we weren't visiting Morocco to spend all our time online!
