As I've mentioned, we were absolutely delighted with Ajebel. What we didn't like are tiny points:
- The mint tea was too strong for me, but I mentioned that to Faisal who toned it down.
- We stayed in the Chelel room and as the pictures on here clearly show, it's quite a dark room, we sometimes felt we could've done with more light but it certainly created a romantic, gentle ambiance
+ Well decorated and maintained, traditional style, close attention to detail
+ Location was ideal for us, just inside the old city walls but in a quiet corner, so easy to meander around the riad with our 20-month old boy and soak up every day life
+ Bath tub was huge!
+ We were in the Chelel room, just next to it there is the terrasse and it was great to be able to hang out there and soak up the views and the sun
+ The complimentary mint tea and home-made biscuits were always very welcome
+ Such warm and accommodating staff. I spent my birthday there and was made to feel so very special
+ Exquisite food (we arrived at midday and decided to stay in for lunch, Fatima made us a steaming chicken tagine which we polished off with glee!)
+ Wonderful cooking session with Fatima as my birthday present to myself, preparing our gorgeous family dinner
This was an absolute dream come true for me, I'd been wanting to discover Marrakach since I was a student so this trip has been decades in the making :) I went with my husband and one 20-month old son and this riad was such a highlight, it made our stay, pure and simple. We'll be back!
