We stayed in the "Jupiter" room on the first floor and found it spacious and clean. Breakfast was the usual Moroccan coffee and selection of breads, which they made very well, and which was available until 11am - great! Riad is a bit difficult to find at first, but very well located.
WiFi was slow to non-existent after our first day - very frustrating. The riad is in the medina, albeit near the medina wall, so expect some street noise during the day. Staff played music in the reception area (I think for the benefit of guests) throughout the day, and the layout of the riad meant that we heard this in our room even with windows closed. I'd suggest that they stop doing this - there was more Mariah Carey, James Blunt and Gipsy Kings playing than most people ever want to hear again! Finally, we found the pillows very hard - we ended up sleeping on towels instead.
My stay was for 1 night over New Year's Eve U found the staff & owners to be very courteous & helpful, would definitely recommend as place to stay in essaouira.
We Enjoyed our stay at RIAD AKIBA. The cleaning girl they employ is a little marvel, never stops all day, she even done our washing which had accumulated by then in their machine, dried it, folded it & placed it in our room. Breakfast (the girl was now cook + waitress) was ok fresh orange juice, bread & a crepe, cream cheese triangles, butter & jam, tea or coffee (An omelette or scrambled egg would have been nice though)
The lighting, the room was extremely dark even with all lights on, the stairwell was the same. WiFi was ok in reception area, could get it in the room occasionally. We found the stairs to the 3rd floor a bit much for us.
Great staff and room
After realy bad experience in Marrakesh this Riad was the best thing in our trip. Very good located, nerby parking (It is not allowed drive into Medina). The Riad adorably decorated inside, very clean. Beautifull rooms with stylistic furniture. We've got a 'sweet' room with huge bath in the bathroom. Delicious breakfast every morning with fresh baguettes. The owners of Riad are realy nice, funny and friendly.I spent with my wife and friends unforgettable vacation and we recommend Riad Akiba for all who is looking calm and peacefull place in Essauoira. I'm sure some day we'll back there to meet those great people again.
Breakfast, staff always smiling and helpful. Nice atmosphere
Very stylish, Lovely staff, great location, very clean, large bedrooms with marvelous en suite
There wasn't anything to dislike
The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable but the sheets were a bit scratchy.
This riad advertised air conditioning and we booked it specifically based on this however when we got there there was no aircon. Thankfully they found us a fan. The riad smelt overwhelmingly of cigarette smoke which wafted into the room unless we kept all windows closed. The staff were a bit hopeless. We were made to wait at least 20 mins upon arrival in the reception area without anyone addressing us or telling us what was happening. The breakfast was average.
we had an amazing time in here, beautiful place to stay with an great staff, super helpful... nothing was a problem or an issue, you may get any help or recommendation in here, loved it
