Fantastic venue Warm, helpful staff Large, well furnished bedrooms Abundant breakfast
This guesthouse, within the inner walls of the old part of Fes and nearby the old Medina, is a delightful place. Personnel service is outstanding, people are nice and helpful in any way. Breakfast and dinner were very tasteful and the atmosphere is just great.
Weather conditions in December can be somewhat rainy and chilly, depending on the strength of the wind
Beautiful Riad located in the medina. Staff was super friendly (including the parrot), food and our room was amazing.
Location was a bit far, but we enjoyed most of our time in the Riad anyways as it was so beautiful.
We've got an upgrade to the suit - it was incredible! The place is just amazing!
Renovated to a very high standard, all rooms were authentically decorated and very comfortable. The courtyard dining room had a relaxing atmosphere with many points of interest including the parrot! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, several fluent in English as well as French. We enjoyed dinner at the Riad on both nights; service and cuisine excellent
The roof garden was not available due to an urgent repair to the structure. The space looked to be another excellent place to relax and enjoy the outstanding views.
Beautifully styled tradiotal riad, attentive staff
Beautiful building with gorgeous mosaic decor is very impressive. The staff is very kind and helpful. It is like a paradise hidden in Medina in Fez.
Cramped, dark rooms.
Holel is situated in good comfortable place near enter in medina. Frendly stuff. Very beautifull riad.
We had one problem. When we leaved hotel and sould to pay stuff did not have change and on my question - what we do? Said only - I do not know...it was verystrange and unpleasant for us that is why change was only 30 dh. May be stuff thought to keep it himself?
The location is perfect, far from the noise of the medina and close to one of the main door. Taxi can drop you in front of the door of the Riad. Great Dinner!
It is amazingly beautiful place and magical experience, you have to see it yourself. The staff is super friendly and will arrange everything for you. It is located in a new area, and you can get a taxi to the front door. Staying in this Riad was the high point of our Morocco experience.
Everything, especially Omar (the manager) who is a fantastic guy !
Wifi connection not available inside the room
What a beautiful Riad. The pictures don't do it justice. And the staff are phenomenal. Omar was extremely helpful and quite a personality. I lost my phone in the cab from the train station late at night and he was able to track it down the next morning. Very impressive!
Our only complaint was that the beds were almost comically hard. However, as we've discovered, that's fairly commonplace, so I don't think we could have done better elsewhere. And we still slept pretty well after a full day of walking around.
Beautiful luxuriant riad with spacious highly comfortable and impressively decorated rooms, suite accommodation we booked felt almost palatial to myself and my daughter. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and varied, and Omar proved a highly hospitable, gracious and friendly host. The riad was very easily found, right next to one of the medina's gates which was well known to all taxi drivers. would highly recommend this riad for a taste of old style luxury and high quality service.
Exceptional service, very friendly and helpful staff, secure and 10 min to the medina. Beautiful courtyard with a friendly parrot add to the charm. Will go again "InshaAllah" (God willing)
Because we arrived during Ramadan, the riad was sparsely populated. Omar, without our prompting, upgraded our room to a suite, which was much appreciated. In general, Omar was informative and engaging. In Morocco, riads are decidedly the way to go. Al Bartal was no exception.
The staff, Omar and Abdul were amazing, thanks very much for your kindness were I was sick and your help with everything!
Gorgeous riad with beautiful courtyard. My room was huge and tastefully decorated. Food was outstanding. The staff, primarily Omar and Abdul, were extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged two day trips for me and bought my tickets for the Sacred Music Festival.
Super riad with excellent stuff abd facilities. Easy to find after just after the entrance into the Medina. Very chilling and relaxing environment with comfortable room and terrace. Huge and tastt breakfasts accompanied with friendliness. Dinners very good as well. I highly suggest this place
Locstin is quiet but a bit removed. Sometimes could be tough to get a taxi from.
Room had the double bed on a loft and a single bed on the ground. Very inconvenient since the one A/C unit could not cool the loft below 25 Celsius. Couldn't sleep until 3am. Carpets unclean and gave my daughter an allergy rash and we had to walk out to allow them to clean up again. Staff friendly. B/f ordinary. In general we felt that the Riad-stay experience is over rated. When you are traveling I would any day prefer a modern hotel with good amenities. You can always visit the Glaoui palace to see what a Riad looks like. The red taxi in Fes is very convenient and can take you to the Medina for next to nothing.
very well located and easy to find. friendly staff.
Gorgeous Riad- step off the street into what appears to be a palace. The Riad is beautifully restored, tastefully decorated, comfortable and happily lacking the "stuffy" atmosphere of many places. We felt entirely relaxed, the staff were exceptional- helpful, kind, lovely. The food is wonderful- don't miss dinner (the best tangine I've ever had). Love the parrot (not for dinner- a pet)! Also, an excellent location and very good value. This Riad is welcoming of couples, groups and families.
Well...... I think there was a loose knob or something in our room.... It would be impossible for me to think of any significant complaint.
The place is really beatiful
The noise of birds
The riad is beautiful. All facilities were very good too. The staff were friendly but not quite the family feeling that is described.
A room on the courtyard doesn't give you a lot of peace and quiet always especially as the courtyard area ( which is beautiful ) is used as a restaurant in the evening. I found the evening meal a bit of a disappointment in quality and price in comparison to what can be found out in Fes itself. For us maybe a bit too formal.
