The design and rooms were beautifully presented and very homely. A nice haven from the hustle & bustle of the medina. Serves alcohol on the terrace. Good breakfasts.

Expect to pay someone 20Dh to walk you to the riad - 5 mins max. If you are driving park by the port.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent location close to edge of Medina and a block or so from the Atlantic.

Showing a little wear but overall fair value for money we thought.

Riad Al Zahia is beautifully decorated, bright and airy with a lovely (though rather windy) roof terrace with its own mini cafe bar that serves delicious food. Our room had a four-poster bed and beautiful moroccan tiled floor. It's just minutes from the ramparts, port and shopping making it a perfect location. Essaouira has a lovely relaxed vibe compared to Marrakech and we wished we had longer there. There was no air conditioning but with the seaside breeze it was still lovely and cool in the room.

Beautiful Riad with very friendly and helpful staff. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat any meals outside of breakfast here. enjoyed having a drink up on the terrace in the evenings while my daughter had hot chocolate. Fantastic location in the Medina but you might need a bit of help finding it for the first time. We asked a local merchant and he pointed us in the right direction happily.

This is not the fault of the Riad but our stay coincided with a group staying together. They were quite noisy in the evenings and due to the design of Riads the noise travelled everywhere. The staff apologised and explained that they don't normally have groups, just a bit of bad luck for us. If you are staying in a Riad please be considerate of your fellow travellers and keep the noise down especially at night when others are trying to get some rest.

Internet a little slow in the room but to be honest didn't really care, I was on vacation. Just needed to check some bank stuff.

Good location in the nicer part of Medina, friendly staff (especialy locals who work there) , lovely roof terreace. I would definetly recommend this Riad!

We where there for 3 days and we had same breakfast every day: butter, marmalade & pancake. I know this is tradional but maybe it will good to change menu every 2 days?

One of the nicest places we stayed in Morocco. Beautiful riad with great rooms. We had breakfast on the roof terrace and then came back to watch the sunset. In a quiet side street 50 meters from the busy parts. The showers were great too. The owners really put effort into creating some atmosphere. Would definitely return. tip - try the restaurant next door, good food and not overpriced either

WiFi was a little tricky in the rooms. In the reception it worked fine.

The rooms and public areas were beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were spacious and the showers were good. The staff were helpful. We enjoyed the view from the terrace and the chance to get some sun over breakfast.

I miss having tea making facilities in the room and my early cup of tea in bed!

Incredible value for money. Amazingly relaxed and low key with a colonial feel, yet wonderfully designed and decorated with art deco prints and Moroccan furniture, This place is clean, light, peaceful and wonderful with a gorgeous balcony on which to read and enjoy views of the medina and the sea.

one of the few Riads who have a big suite, we were 4 adults and the zuleica suite was very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 1 big bathroom. the staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great with a slight view of the sea from the roof. The roof terrace is beautiful for breakfast, afternoon coffee or suntanning. Great riad that feels like home!
