I can attest that this hotel will soothe your soul after your arriving here from a flight from Paris. The food was fantastic and the service staff was exceptionally attentive. The rooms and the bedding was excellent!
An historic building carefully restored. Very helpful staff and wonderful pool. Food is mainly Moroccan and excellent; all freshly cooked so it has to be ordered well ahead. Room was large, beautiful and very comfortable. Only a short walk to the "shops" of the medina and taxis.
A bit more water pressure -a minor niggle.
Fantastic five days, great location, close to the souk and restaurants , fabulous pool, lovely staff who couldn't do enough for us.The breakfast was delicious and although we only ate a sandwich on the day we were leaving we wished we'd had a night in and tried dinner there too. We would even go back!
Beautiful beatiful riad with fantastic garden, large swimming pool, huge room with great bathroom. The food was divine! - simply delicious!!! The service was really flawless and the staff went out of their way to look after us particularly when we had news of an emergency back home - we were looked after at a level way beyond the call of duty.
Leaving the place :-)
All the componants were there but it lacked soul
It's such a serene , beautiful place. The staff exceeded all expectations of hospitality. An amazing riad to unwind in after a day in the bustle of the medina.
Beautiful place in the middle of the medina. Great pool, though we didn't get to use it as weather in January was too cold for it. Great breakfast.
We requested in advance that a room should have 2 single beds and it was not done when we got there. They did, however, take care of it immediately. Wi-fi was only available at the reception.
Excellent friendly staff. 5 stars. The manager is very helpful, nice talking to. Help during sickness excellent-for extra tea and some bread they were not even putting that on the payment. The pool is special and enormous big. It didn't take one minute and I had service at the pool. Everybody is helpful and earns any tip. The view is great, the room is the best. Dinner and service is excellent-any wish is fulfilled (dinner in the room is no problem-they even carry another heavy table up). Everything is the best. Can recommend the riad a lot!!! Go and stay there and relax-wishes come true.
The wifi didn't work, although that might had to do with our phone cause on the managers phone it was working. Besides that: nothing.
A truly fabulous and beautifully presented Riad in a superb location. The price is fairly high for this area, but the benefits are relaxation in luxurious surroundings. Extremely helpful and attentive staff with the added bonus of a delightful food menu. Absolutely faultless with the exception of the "pool visitors"
The "special" feeling of the Riad is somewhat marred by the succession of visitors (not paying guests) who commandeer the pool area.
There are not enough adjectives to describe our stay at Riad Alcantara. From the moment you are greeted at the front door and welcomed by the very friendly staff, you already feel relaxed and at home. Then you get to see the luxurious surroundings while you are shown to your room. We stayed in the "Les amantes de Grenade" which is suited to host a king. The swimming pool is fascinating, specially at night time and we also got to meet one of the cats and turtles. All decorations are fascinating and the breakfast we got to sample during 2 days was delicious and we even got offered the option of what to eat. We did not sample their restaurant food on this trip but this is certainly something we are planning on doing during our next trip to Fes and Riad Alcantara. We liked it that much that we are planning on making this experience an annual event. Thank you for such a lovely experience! Cristina & Martin
Beautiful Riad with great gardens, spacious very clean rooms. Good size swimming pool which is very rare to find in the old medina. Very nice decor. Only min away from the heart of medina. Very easy to find. Receptionist spoke very good English, rest could just about manage French.
Too many staff doing literally nothing, just standing around. Security, which I don't think was necessary, was standing or sitting around all day for nothing. Towels left by the pool over night waiting for the cleaners next day to tidy up, swimming pool got only cleaned at lunch time!?! I think this should be the first area which gets cleaned and tidy for the clients. Nobody would come up to you to ask if you want a drink, if you don't ask yourself you don't get anything. No price list for drinks. On your arrival you get two small bottles of water and mint tea. Don't expect anything else for free. Any extra water you order will be charged to you. I think they should top up fridge every morning with 2 bottles. You can order your dinner in the Riad but you have to choose by 2pm on the day. 3 days in a row we had the same breakfast, bread, spread cheese, jam, butter and black olives. Nothing else to choose from. Gets boring after a while. Very good coffee though. The Riad has a great potential but service has to improve big time.
