We unfortunately had a very unpleasant epidsode with the owner trying to extract a commisision from the carpet cooperative for a carpet bought by one of our group. The carpet was basically held "hostage" until the commisiion was paid to the owner of the Riad. This sp;oiled what would otherwise have been a very pleasant stay. It is really a shame, becuase the owner and his wife otherwise went out of their way for us. This was an extremely unpleasant occurrence, with calls necessary to the cooperative, and a meeting with workers from the cooperative . This spoiled our visit and I guess I cannot take a group back for this reason. I otherwise would have returned next year with a group.

This hotel is on my opinion, "Too Typical" in terms of Marrocain style. For people who want to live the same way people used to live a luxurious style last century, it is perfect. It was not exactly our case. Due to it, our opinion about the hotel is not the best, although the efforts of its people for providing us a very good service (and they got it).

I enjoyed my stay at the Riad Arabesque very much. It is very quiet with spacious very clean rooms The breakfast is amazing.One word of caution the location on the Booking.com website is wrong. It is shown as being close to the station it is however behind the Palais Jamal in the Medina. If you get a taxi to the car park near the hotel then there are porters who will take you luggage for you as it is a difficult walk.

The Riad was so beautiful it was amazing. From the outside door we had no idea what was inside. All the rooms were lovely and the terrace and pool area and reception area were a delight, not to mention the distant view in the evening. The food and wine was very good- very expensive but lovely and it was nice to have some unobtrusive live music in the evening. The cleaning staff and waitresses were very good too.

It was a little noisy in the evening (generator below our room!) The price they gave us fr a guide was inflated for the 2 hrs- but even the guide himself agreed with that! Shame about the prices as the other people we met in Fes were very kind.

On May 7th 2012 I stayed 1 night in this charming and authentic riad together with my parents. Three years before I came here with friends and was happy to come back and show the beautiful hotel to my parents. Upon arrival the very friendly and welcoming staff offered us the Royal suite instead of two junior suites: we got a beautifully decorated suite with a living room and 2 separate bedrooms. In the afternoon the hotel staff arranged a tour guide with Mr. Omar with whom we walked around for hours through the old medina, visiting ancient houses, universities and many little alleys. At night we had delicious Moroccan diner. Overall a great stay in this museum looking authentic riad which gives you the feeling to go back in time... Merci beacoup Toufik pour les bons soins!

There is nothing I don't like about this riad. I received a very warm welcome on arrival and a tour of the beautiful building and the services it had to offer. The Jaafar room was simply spectacular. The food both at breakfast and dinner were divine. And the staff were very helpful in organising the very best tour guide to take us around the Medina. This riad has so much character and with splendid views and great location, it really is one of the best places I've ever stayed.

Poor maintenance in rooms, i.e. crumbling walls and floors in need of maintenance, plumbing creaking at all times and bath slow to empty. Brochure suggests two restaurants but in fact just one on the main terrace. In fact, the top terrace could be developed into a wonderful panoramic space but is completely neglected.
