Cons- 1) No heat in the middle of winter 2 nights during my stay. Woke up with a sore throat and freezing. 2) breakfast is all carbs- cakes and bread and butter- no protein or fresh fruit. 3) I arrived at 2:30 and was not able to check into my room even though booking.com said it was possible to check in anytime from 8:30 am- 11:30pm. Our bags were left in the common space unlocked until we arrived at 11pm after walked the streets of marrakesh- this was of course unsettling. 4) We were asked to pay in cash 2 minutes after arriving back to our hotel at night (11pm) as the credit card machine was broken. I found this odd as payment is usually done at check out. 5) The riads phone didn't work. My husband's luggage was lost and we had to get a calling card just so we could find out about his luggage. A riad should have a functioning phone. 6) The tours offered were exponentially inflated. We booked in town. 7) Owner was money minded. His staff agreed to change my booking to three nights and gave me a piece of paper showing the change and owner called me from paris making me pay for four nights even though he could have booked another person in the suit as we only stayed three nights. I told him I would happily pay for booking fees. Customer service is sometimes taking a cut to be consistent with your staff and make your customers happy. 8) Pick up from the train station was 20 Euro, but the cost if we found a taxi ourselves would have been a fraction of the cost. 9) No shampoo or soap- I used the handsoap to wash my hair. Overall, a horrible stay. Being cold and feeling like you are being ripped off sucks when are on vacation. So many choices so stay - AVOID THIS RIAD and STAY somewhere else....
Pros- Gorgeous decor, delicious mint tea at breakfast served by the sweet staff adel
