Riad Oumaima is a palace-style guesthouse, a 10-minute walk through the souks (markets) to Jeema-El-Fna square. It offers an interior patio with a heated plunge pool and a rooftop sun terrace.
Score from 156 reviews Very good
Very friendly, helpful staff, Room appealing
A bit further away from the square
This is a beautiful Riad, excellently maintained and run by fantastic staff who we cannot fault in any way whatsoever. After the hustle and chaos of the Medina, this was a peaceful, tranquil haven where we felt completely relaxed.
Walking to and from the Riad requires excellent navigation skills, it's extremely easy to get lost however the Riad staff are happy to provide directions or come and find you! Locals are also willing to help but for a fee!
the staff couldn't have been friendlier and the hotel was very clean and the bed very comfortable. central location to the souks.
our only complaint was the shower head broke and although we asked for it to be replaced it wasn't.
The riad was well situated within the medina, the whole team go out of their way to make sure your stay is relaxing, comfortable & hassle free. Tremendous value for money.
Outstanding caretaker, riad location fantastic, ratio quality price excellent.
Didficult to find the Riad for the first time but afterwards easy to find when familiar with the environs.
Very friendly owners and staff, nice Riad in an interesting part of the Medina, we liked it very much
Peaceful oasis with helpful and very pleasant staff. Best hamman and massage I've had for years. Location ideal to get best out of central medina, yet quiet and peaceful inside. Collection from airport highly recommended, almost essential.
Breakfast was a little plain and uninteresting. Dinner a bit bland.
Lovely building, like the location very secluded even though a few steps away from all the action. Felt safe as entrance was hidden and always locked
The rooms were a little disappointing - weird shower area, beds were hard. Looked much better in the pictures
• Every question and need was addressed impeccably by the courteous and professional staff; we were promised exceptional service and that was precisely what we received • The beauty, privacy and mood of the property is beyond comparison • The location offers quick access to a vast host of interesting locations, the Souks (commercial heart of the city) and high quality restaurants
• We were unable to locate a trash bin in our room • Coffee was mediocre
This Riad is a real gem. The owners are friendly accomodating and go above and beyond to make your stay great. Equally the staff are the best I have come across.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Very nice Riad
Room, pool, breakfast, service
Location naar to main sites but in a dodgy arena of the medina
Clean, very relax place & most of all the staff are wonderful, friendly & helpful. it is a home away from home for me & my boyfriend. I love the place & we definitely will come back & stay here again in the future.. credit to the owner ( Stefan & Coralie) for creating & transforming this charming palace.. we loved it ♥♥♥
kind ness of people, clean
no tv, location is npt up to the expectation of newr guest, the location of the hotel is schking in a litel dark alyes where if you come after 8 pm you need to knok on the door for 15 minutes to be answered. not recooended for new commers. cost of transportation to the train station is 240 tooooomuch and if you aske why ofcourse they will say sooory we thought it is to the air port.!!! no matter what the hotel is not up to the expectation.
Very friendly and helpfull staff, great location and good food!
Extremely friendly, warm and helpful owners and staff. Lovely place to stay. The food in-house is excellent. Highly recommend. Cannot say enough of how kind and friendly the staff and owners are!
Could have done with a couple of basics like a bit of decent soap and toilet tissue, but that is nit-picking. The pool is gorgeous but a bit public, being in the area where people are entering, leaving, eating etc. No real negatives though.
Cleanliness, the Moroccan style interior at the Riad, and quiet location was very good
That you cannot get with a taxi directly to the Riad/ no info that guests have to walk from the local post office with all the luggage. Our 2 year old boy did not get a breakfast set and on the 3rd day not even a chair to sit on at our table We paid for a suite for 3 adults full price, although we were 2 adults , 2 children, found the ignorance towards the doddler very unkind
the whole staff the swimming pool the room the treatment Coralie & Mohammed
breakfast was little short of food compared to other riads
Breakfast was good. Staff helpful.
Our sheets had not been changed when we arrived and there were black hairs over the bed. Not good. Bedding was changed and staff apologetic next day. Bed not made each day or room cleaned. Riad arranged a half day tour to four destinations costing 450 dirhams. This was just a taxi service really. No information given. Would have been a lot cheaper to get taxis ourselves to the different locations.
Beautiful building and good location for souks and many tourist sites. Friendly staff.
Charged for pretty much everything and no itemised bill signed when charged. For example, no signature on a bill post dinner/ breakfast. This means it is very difficult to keep track of how much is owed at the end of the stay.
Apon arrival Muhammad offered us traditional Moroccan tea and biscuits. While he took us through the must do's in Marrakech and what riad assouel had to offer. Perfect location. 10 minutes walk to the square and 7 mins walk to the markets. It really felt like home with only 8 rooms. Riad assouel felt like it's own little oasis. All staff were excellent and speak multiple languages. Breakfast was delicious. The Traditional scrub and massage was fantastic. I would highly recommend Riad Assouel!
Riad Assouel is like a little oasis in the middle of the Medina, we very much appreciated its tranquility after a busy morning wandering around.
The staff are helpful and polite. The Riad is so tranquil and beautiful. The manager is extremely knowledgable and honest. It's a family run business. This Riad is VERY family friendly. My friends and I were guests with the cutest babies and teens. We played goldfish and hide and seek on our last day as we waited for our flight and it was a much fun as our other ventures in Morocco.
The location is not easy to get to from the main plaza & souk. It's in the heart of the village. So you will often be approached by locals attempting to help guide you and they will then demand money. So have a map and set out early and return well before sunset. Or just use the hotel's drivers. Or else you will be a target. Also the hotel's credit card machine often does not work and they will ask you to pay cash.
Brilliant service, beautiful decor
