Beautiful building and good location for souks and many tourist sites. Friendly staff.

Charged for pretty much everything and no itemised bill signed when charged. For example, no signature on a bill post dinner/ breakfast. This means it is very difficult to keep track of how much is owed at the end of the stay.

Apon arrival Muhammad offered us traditional Moroccan tea and biscuits. While he took us through the must do's in Marrakech and what riad assouel had to offer. Perfect location. 10 minutes walk to the square and 7 mins walk to the markets. It really felt like home with only 8 rooms. Riad assouel felt like it's own little oasis. All staff were excellent and speak multiple languages. Breakfast was delicious. The Traditional scrub and massage was fantastic. I would highly recommend Riad Assouel!

Riad Assouel is like a little oasis in the middle of the Medina, we very much appreciated its tranquility after a busy morning wandering around.

The staff are helpful and polite. The Riad is so tranquil and beautiful. The manager is extremely knowledgable and honest. It's a family run business. This Riad is VERY family friendly. My friends and I were guests with the cutest babies and teens. We played goldfish and hide and seek on our last day as we waited for our flight and it was a much fun as our other ventures in Morocco.

The location is not easy to get to from the main plaza & souk. It's in the heart of the village. So you will often be approached by locals attempting to help guide you and they will then demand money. So have a map and set out early and return well before sunset. Or just use the hotel's drivers. Or else you will be a target. Also the hotel's credit card machine often does not work and they will ask you to pay cash.

Room - beautiful decor and clean Staff are WONDERFUL Breakfast Riad Pool Lounge areas Welcome email Driver

Location can be a little intimidating and the riad itself is tricky to find so definitely let the driver pick you up from the airport/bus/train station. TIP: Learn your way back from the Jemma el Fna (if on foot) or Post Office car park (get your taxis to there) so you can ignore the locals trying to direct you to the riad - they will insist you pay them and 10Dirhams will not be enough! Shower was in pretty bad shape. It worked, but didn't match the standard of the rest of the riad.

Perfect for a relaxing retreat when you return from the souks and sights of Marrakech. Lovely decoration, courtyard pool welcome in late June heat and lovely setting for dinner in evening. Food excellent as were staff...couldn't be more helpful. Lovely roof terrace....our first Riad stay and we would be reluctant to stay elsewhere in Marrakech.

This Riad is absolutely wonderful and defiantly worth a stay! Me and my boyfriend do a lot of travelling together and always try to stay in places that are good value for money but are still able to offer something a bit special - this Riad certianly does! We booked the day before we flew so it was an extremely spontaneous trip, however the staff were still able to offer us transfers from the airport and dinner on arrival which we enjoyed next to the pool. They were always happy to walk us into the city (it's quite easy to loose your bearings on the way to the square) and would walk to collect us from restaurants at night - they really were so friendly and helpful and didn't charge any extra for this, although we did always give them a small tip. We enjoyed amazing food as the sunset on the terrace upstairs where the staff served us a three course meal and we had the whole terrace to ourselves. The Riad is clean, beautifully looked after, friendly, relaxed and classy. It was such a lovely place to come back to from the madness of the Marrkech streets and the heat; it's a little hidden sanctuary and I would recommend it to anyone. Make sure you try their mint tea and mint tea ice cream it's fantastic! They recommend some fantastic restaurants and are genuinely really helpful and honest - not out to take your money like a lot of people in the city! Note that if you have any extra food or drink at the hotel you have to pay this in cash so make sure you have some spare at the end of the stay - we had to get a taxi to the square to get some from the bank before we left.

The staff at the riad assouel were some.of the beat we have come across in our travels, very accommodating and kind.

No roads in front of the building meant u had to walk from the taxi to the riad, it's only a few minutes but being two young females we didn't feel very safe.

Hard sell by Mohammed when we checked in Owners didn't attempt to greet us at any time during our stay A second pan to cook pancakes would be good to avoid the strong taste of fish

The staff are very hardworking, helpful and friendly. Bed was very comfortable. In general an oasis of calm in the Medina.

There was a banging noise that reverberated through our bedroom wall until about 11pm each night from the workshops next door. This was very annoying and took the edge off what was a good experience. On a couple of occassions it appeared that the staff were over stretched trying to please all the guests every need in a fully booked Riad.

We will never forget this great Riad. Really charming nest where after our long walking days in Marrakesh we loved resting. We found the team, welcoming, extremely helpful when needed, and always there without being intrusive. We tasted their homemade breakfasts and ice cream and they were absolutely great. We much appreciated the decoration, the hammam, the massages and to relax in the swimming pool. The attention you get in this Riad is far, but far better than any hotel.

The only small thing i should say is that our room was a bit small, but i guess this is typical in Riads. However, my wife loved it as she likes small rooms, but nicely decorated as it was the case. Notre seule petite déception : nous aurions aimé une chambre un peu plus grande.

The Riad is in an excellent location - walking distance from the Souk and Square. The staff are so attentive and being a group of 5 ladies they even met us on our return each evening from where their driver dropped us! They organised restaurants, drivers and could of sorted excursions if we had had more time. The food was lovely. We would highly recommend this Riad - it was perfect for our trip to Marrakech!

    Nothing : )

Riad Assouel is located in the Medina and maybe 20 minutes' walk from the main square Djamaa al Fna. It is an oasis of calm in the city, except when the calls to prayer interrupt. It's beautifully decorated in traditional style. One can eat by the pool downstairs or up on the terrace. Food is delicious. Various beauty treatments can be arranged in house and we tried the Hammam Scrub followed by the massage; fantastic. The managers are able to organise any sort of trip and our two guides; one taxi and one on foot, were brilliant. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay for adults and older children.

We had a perfect vacation at RIad Assouel. The Riad was very beautiful and neat. The room clean but quite small. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and arranged both a trip to the desert and spa treatments for us. We would definitely recommend this place.

It was quite difficult to find the riad at night so take a taxi to the nearby square.

Size of bathroom facilities. Could be remedied by removing a few internal walls. Would really benefit the facilities.
