Pool was freezing so our kids couldn't use it for anything other than dipping their feet in. The morning staff was totally apathetic and expressionless, borderline rude at times. Never smiled at us. If we didn't ask for help with anything, he wouldn't have offered it. The bathroom drain often reeked and we always had to close the bathroom doors to prevent the stink from pervading the room.
To access this Riad you have to go through the souk by foot. Being so close to Jema el fina was great - especially since we had young children (aged 2 and 6). Albeit the proximity to the vibrant, loud souk, the alley Riad Bab 54 was located on was quiet and very private. Kids slept well every night. The Makassar room had a separate 'room' with 2 single beds for the kids. The layout of the room was absolutely perfect for us. Our last night we stayed in for dinner and we were served a beautifully cooked 3 course meal. It was delicious. I only wish we had discovered it sooner.

Toilette was in the room - separated with a door that was open with art carvings. So jot recommended if you have problems going to the toilette in front if your partner. WLAN did not work in the room.
Nice Riad. Great located. Nice service and really good breakfast!

We wouldn't recommend the location, particularly to women on their own. The riad is in the middle of the souks down a series of dark alleyways. It took us several attempts to find it despite having a map from the riad. At night it is lonely because the market stalls are shut. We both felt uncomfortable doing the walk on our own after dark. Service was hit and miss during the day. In particular, we had trouble getting back into the riad once we had gone out, often having to wait in the alley outside for a long time before the door was answered. On one occasion, I had to come down from the roof to let a family in after their rings were unanswered after four sequential rings over a period of 10 minutes. The day staff were nowhere to be seen. On numerous occasions during the day I wanted to buy a drink / tea (there are no self-service facilities) but could not find a staff member. We also received very little help when we were trying to find the riad and struggling. I thought these issues were very poor for the price we were paying. Service in the evenings was excellent due to staff changeover. Given the location and service issues, I thought the riad was overpriced. We stayed in one just as nice in a better location in Marrakech for significantly less. This nice a shame as the riad itself is beautiful and some of the staff are fantastic.
The riad is beautiful, tastefully decorated and has everything you need. Mohammed was very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent - the best we had out of 5 riads in Marrakech / other parts of Morocco.

The location (not for the first time visitors), neighbourhood with lots of peopole ready to scam you.
Comparing to other riads, this one provided really fair services.

The location of the hotel is not condusive for senior traveller like us. No kettle and tv for us to enjoy the rest of the day.
The breakfast was good.

very far, should be much cheaper comparing to other Riads
Neat, nice design and good staff

Bed too small and not very comfortable
Excellent, accommodating staff.

Clean, modern, Tastefully decorated rooms and guest areas. All the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was also a lovely experience, with fresh local options to chose from.

Location - in the middle of the souks, 10 mins walking from the main place. Quiet in the middle of the big confusion. Nice and kind personnel ( Mohamed and Jamal) Like a small oasis

Bathroom was a "wet room" without a separate shower cubicle. Not a problem, except that the drain plug was of the type that could be closed or opened by pressing on it. We did not realise this and water drained across bedroom floor. Not sure why you would want to be able to close the drainage in such a shower...
Walking through an unassuming wooden door in a dusty side street into a welcoming oasis of calm. Mohammed was very welcoming and helpful and was able to recommend some good restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and the roof terrace location for breakfast was great. It was also most helpful that the Riad was able to book a transfer from the airport - we paid the hotel directly for this, although the cost of the guy to push our luggage from taxi to Riad was extra - make sure you have cash to pay this - it cost us 40 dirhams.

Wifi very temperamental and not really accessible in the rooms
Decor, Staff Breakfast Great location

Riad quite difficult to find the first time at night.
Staff were very responsive but not intrusive. Family room was good size. Breakfast on the roof good and plentiful. Swimming pool hit the spot to cool down in the heat. We were the only guests there for our two night stay so we really felt spoilt.

Good breakfast but slightly variable along the days.Hard to find in the midle of the souks.
Is a beautiful and quiet hotel in the middle of the confusion of the souks. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Though well located, this Riad is very family under-friendly. We were given a small, (they claimed was a triple room) room for a family of 4! We had to move furniture out ourselves to make room. Not even a cupboard/wardrobe to put things away! The a.c wasn't effective and the room was smelly. Staff not super helpful to be honest - even charged us for an extra cup of tea! Also refused to move to us to a bigger room despite Riad being empty! Only plus is the location to be honest. Otherwise, very disappointing experience.

This is a great place to stay, situated in the souks & 5 minute walk from the main square. Owners are really friendly and helpful and serve a fantastic breakfast.

Fantastic place, very central location, staff very gentle and friendly. Important: the Rihad is located IN the medina and it's not easy to find if you have never been there before, that's why I suggest to organise the pick up with the staff of the Rihad, as I did.

Modern decor and serene atmosphere in a renovated house (dar) not too far from Place Jemaa Al Fna. The dar is smaller and less ornate than others we were in, including smaller rooms, but that was okay. Location was good for exploring central part of medina, including the souks.
April 21, 2014
Fabulous riyad in the centre of medina. Our family room was perfect as the children's beds were situated in a small area off the master bed with a privacy curtain at the entrance. This was ideal for a family of 4 were the 2 children are over 14 years. Everything from the delicious breakfast to decor was first class.

Swimming pool is like a plunge pool. Freezing. Toilet was behind curtain, instead of door. Fine for us but may faze some.
Good location, less than 5 minutes to the souks and less than 10 to the main square. Friendly staff. Calm riad (guesthouse) in the busy medina. Nice room & good shower. (Young couple)

Great position, in the heart of the medina yet down a quiet alley (a friendly one with kids playing and cats hanging out) which makes it feel all the more private. The small team of staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They helped us book taxis, advised us on what to see (at our request) and even helped with a little souvenir shopping. It is tastefully decorated, very clean and overall a peaceful environment to enjoy. Breakfast is perfect (selection of pastries, breads, jams and fresh juice/fruit) and was enjoyed on the roof terrace in the sun. Highly recommended!
