Bed was ok but could be better in perspective of anything else
My husband and I stayed here for four nights in January 2015, our decision was based on reviews read and cost. There are hundreds of Riads to choose from in the Medina, varying wildly in price, quality, location etc. The Bab Tilila was a good combination of well reviewed, reasonably priced, and well located. Caterina was in touch prior to our arrival and arranged transfers to and from the airport (15 EUR) so we were greeted by their very welcoming driver Ahmed. On arrival at the Riad we were greeted by Morad who took our bags and welcomed us. We sat down for some mint tea & mini-pastries while he gave us an old Nokia with the numbers of Morad, Caterina, and the Riad pre-programmed. Morad showed us a map of the Medina, and suggested the easiest route to Jemaa El Fna A wonderful start to our stay. We had a first floor room which was traditionally decorated and pleasant. The Riad is approx. a 10 minute walk to Jemaa El Fna and an easy walk of about 15-20 mins to the new city. The room was very comfortable, cleaned well, and a good night's sleep was had. 5am call to prayer is very loud and pretty much no avoiding it, but should be expected anywhere. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of breads/pastries/pancakes with jams/preserves etc. yoghurt, OJ, tea/coffee. We arranged a trip to the Atlas Mountains through Morad, which Ahmed took us on and it was a wonderful experience and a welcome, relaxing contrast to the bustling city. Ahmed was full of insight into the areas we drove through and the market and home he took us to were amazing and we really couldn't have experienced if we hadn't gone with him. In summary, this place is a nice little hideaway in the Medina. A solid location within walking distance of most attractions all for a reasonable price. Everything we asked for was provided, breakfast was great, and everyone was friendly.
The only slight issue from our point of view is that there is seemingly little English spoken by the staff and all of the television stations are in Italian. Also, if you're looking for fashionably decorated accommodation, this is not the riad for you but it is nice and comfortable in a great location.
service was fantastic. Room was set up by using lots of fresh roses pedals make the experience special.
Been to morroco 5 times and stayed in hotels and riads however this was by far the best. Staff was helpful and couldn't do more. They saw after a down poor us wet from the rain they gave us umbrellas and made hot tea and fresh cakes in the house for us to warm up. The breakfast is fresh cooked to order and wide selection. The staff are the friendliest and location great. Even gave us a mobile with credit and GPS so if we got lost which is difficult as it's near the main road we could call. Or even if we needed a pick up or even help they advised to use the phone and would sort out your problem. That is service or what. This hotel recommend the best hamman going and trust me I have been to some luxury place but they have got everything spot on. Best experience and made our holiday a fantastic one. Trust me book this place you will never go anywhere else.
one word -- Amazing! As you enter your room you understand how pleasant your visit will be. Nice incense smell, rose leaves on the bed and floor.. - Free taxi service to train station - You can ask for Moroccan tea any time of the day without additional cost - Friendly staff - Nice breakfast
The location is 15min to the center square Djemaa el Fna. With taxi meter it is around 70 cent (7 dirham). If someone asks to help you to find the hotel get ready to pay at least 2 euros.
• The staff was exorbitant great!! Very helpfull, better service than a five star accomodation. Many thanks to the two guys working there. • I even got a local phone for emergengy calls to the hotel. • The wifi internet connection was very good.
• The location of the hotel at the booking.com map is not correct, it's about 300 meters more north in an alley just opposite of the Bab Doukala mosk.
They know how to make you feel at home, reception great and helpfull.Breafast on the terrace overlooking the medina is amazing.Nice people and great bedding.Location is near every where you want to visit.Quiet room and very Marocco.Keep the good work.
