Located in the heart of the medina (historic quarter) of Marrakesh, Riad Dar Alsaad is in a typical house set a few minutes from the famous Jemma El Fna Square.
Score from 160 reviews Very good
This Riad was a very tranquil place.
Assam and his wife Lorina run a tranquil riad in the Medina. They were well organised and made every effort to ensure my stay was without hassle! I would highly recommend them to anyone who wanted to experience Marrakech without being too close to the Square.
What I liked most was the owner Issam and his wife. They were very helpful and lovely. You feel like you are a part from their family. The breakfast was great and the room was clean all the time and they changed the towels everyday. The location of the riad was very good. It took about 10-15 min to go to jama el fena and the road was really safe. Isssam the owner offered us the golden package and it was amazing we spent 2 days at The Sahara and ourika mountins. And last but not least The Hamam at the riad was the best and after that we had a massage. So I would really recommend riad Bahia if you want to stay in Marrakech. I would recommend you to book taxi from the marrakesh airport through riad Bahia because then you won't pay extra money just because you are a tourist.
There is nothing I didn't like about the riad and I will definitely stay at the same riad if I come back again to marrakesh.
Staff in Riad could not have been better, very helpful with advising where to go in Marrakech, as well as for organising excursions for us. Food in riad was very good too.
If you are looking for a comfy place where to stay and near the big square this is the place!
Location not hard to find. Really close to the center. We were supriced how nice was our room, even if it's not so new. but they put the towels with roses also nice smell in the room. The boy who was working there, he even help us to find a dinner in the night. really nice stay
Coul be more lights inside rooms
A surprisingly calm and welcoming place behind its blank facade on a busy road. A friendly welcome, a nice meal rustled up after a days travel, and a comfortable, quiet room. A great base for exploring the city.
The only negatives were A leaking tap and poor ventilation in the bathroom.
Liked it so much I stayed there twice during my trip to Morocco. Warm traditional decor. Friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous roof terrace where I had breakfast most days and chilled out reading my book in the sun. Quiet and peaceful place. Several pretty lounge areas. They offer extras like Hammam and evening meal, which I didn't try this time but will definitely be trying during my next visit. Very thankful to all the staff for making my stay so comfortable and relaxing :)
Wifi was weaker in some areas
For the price you get good place to crash after a long day of walking Marrakech. Nice staff, wifi reliable. It is near to the main sights but not too close and that's good because you don't want to sleep in the main square it would be too noisy and crowded.
Staff good, pickup service very bed, accommodation very standard
- friendly - open minded - more than often... delicous mint tea - nice riad atmosphere - shared family couscous meal - privat and quiet - personal service and contact to the owner
- not that easy to find at the first try
Everything was great. Specially the staff's effort to make your stay memorable.. apart of that the location, the rooms, terrace, breakfast and ..the price are really good
You have great views of the city from the roof top area
It states there is access to a swimming pool but this a €40 taxi ride away. Breakfast was very limited.
Two girls... Fantastic accommodating staff! From the get go Issam helped us plan our ideal week. Escorted us through all excursions and late walks to the town. Ordered cabs, and organised excursions, so we didn't get ripped off! His sister was fabulous, lovely lady. Helpful in every way possible. If you want a real authentic experience stay at the Riad.
Wifi wasn't quite strong enough to reach our room, and the upstairs terrace, but strong everywhere else. The massage was a little 'full on' by a man, but just opt out if you are a prude, or ask for a women. Can not fault the Riad for any other reason. Go, stay have a wonderful visit!
Issam and his team made us feel very welcome. Nothing was to much trouble. The family atmosphere, lovely food and an amazing Hamam made our stay very special indeed.
Breakfast could have been more substantial. Apart from that all was good.
Rooftop terrace for sunbathing and relaxation.Friendliness of staff.
Room had no natural light. Bathroom a bit Spartan.
Issam and the staff were amazing. Catered to every need, got picked up from the airport and take directly to the riad, great location near jemaa el feena. Had an absolutely wonderful time.
It was a very clean riad and the staff very polite and helpful. They arranged a trip and hamamm treatments that we wanted to do for a good price. They even came and picked us up when we got lost on our first night in Marrakech. Breakfast was good and the dinner we had there was very tasty.
The location is not bad, around 15 min walk to the main square but you need to do the trip on daylight the first time. We tried to navigate the roads on the first night we arrived and got lost.
The staff could not be more helpful, especially regarding dietry requirements and allowing me to use their computer. They were supportive in every way, a great team. Room was comfortable and clean. Food was excellent, if you have a request then ask, they just want you to enjoy yourself and be to be happy!
the staff were great and helpful. Rooms were clean. the Riad is beautiful.
no lift but i guess the riads are to old to have lifts installed :)
Close to the main plaza of Marrakech. Great upstairs terrace with views to the city. Excellent breakfast served fresh.
When we arrive we took a taxi to take us to the riad and the taxi took us close but not to the Riad door he told us to walk instead we did it a little strange to us but we figure out that maybe he didnt knew exactly where it was. The area was safe to walk regardless of this.
The staff were so friendly and were happy to answer any questions we had. Issam was fantastic, showing us the sights and the best bars =) I left my heart in Marrakech!
- Very nice and helpful staff. Small Riad so you will receive a warm personal attention. - Good location, just 10-15 minute walk from Djemaa El-Fna square. - Beautiful terrace on top of the Riad. - Good Moroccan breakfast, and different every day.
Nothing negative, just two comments: - The area might look a bit "sketchy" at night but DON'T be afraid about it, it's totally SAFE. - I just had a payment "problem" since their credit-card reader was not working at the time (but because of the Moroccan phone company, this issue was EXTERNAL to the Riad).
The people are lovely and the host is excellent - you feel at home and have your activities tailored to what you want - a good mix between a hotel with facilities and service but the homely/warm and more cultural vibe of a Riad
The riad was close enough to the centre to walk to. Beds were clean and comfortable. Staff very obliging.
Very very cold. No locks on doors. Not enough power points. Rooms very dingy due to bad lighting. All bills were asked for in euros as managers sister was going to France!! even though we were advised to pay in local currency.
