This Riad is inside the Medina of Marrakech, a 10 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square. It has a terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains and Koutoubia Mosque.
Score from 485 reviews Wonderful
The Riad had fantastic staff who looked after you very well, you have to remember its a guest house not a hotel! The breakfast was different every day and lunch or dinner on your arrival day is recommended as the cook is fantastic! We will return.
Nothing to add here it's as described.
Riad Balkisse is located 3 minutes from Djemaa el-Fna! Jean Jacques and his staff where very friendly and helped me finding my way in Marrakech. My room was nice, clean and quite. Definitely going back to Riad Balisse! Thank you!
Great Riad where Jean-Jacques is a charming host. The location is fantastic: right next to Jemaa el Fna but just far enough that you do not have to deal with all the noise and crowds.
Perfect place for your stay in Marrakech! We spent here 3 nights. Very central location and perfect price/quality ratio! The bedroom and the bathroom were perfectly clean. The breakfast was very good! Foad is a great host..thank you for the chats and the many Moroccan Whisky! See u next time..for sure! Fede e Matteo
hard to find (as many Riad in Marrakech) and the wifi didn't work in the room. But goo!!
location is excellent :)
This hotel has a great location and the staff are all really nice and helpful. Breakfast was lovely too. We really enjoyed our stay and couldn't fault them at all :)
Good location, nice people, breakfast is good. Dinner alright but i think overpriced..has a nice atmosphere. Helpful but i would advise that there seems to some issue between Driss the night fellow and the day man regarding tours....or at least that was the impression i got. Bathroom very small.
I booked a 2 night 3 day tour through Driss, it was very, very, dissappointing. I asked about toilet facilities in the desert.....he said there would be something....i didn't expect luxury but at least a privacy screen for women.........nothing.!! No music in the evening....I know that they can't controll everything but if the Riad promotes a tour i think they should stand behind it.....
The Riad has a great proximity to the main center square Jemaa al Naf and the Souks. About a 5 minute walk. Very accommodating and helpful staff. Thanks to Dufnar and Foat and the kitchen staff. The Riad is in good condition and very clean. Our room was on the ground/entry floor. Adequate in space and furniture. The same for the bathroom and facilities. The wifi connection is excellent. The breakfast each morning was very good in quality and variety with standard and delicious local products. The pricing is very competitive for a similar local offering. We would seriously consider returning to the Riad Belkisse in the future. Salaam!
Maybe a better alternative to the current room heating option during the wet/cold winter months.
Stayed at riad balkisse you cannot fault the hotel for price, location & staff were excellent Rooms are basic but for the price you cannot complain Bed was nice to sleep in Shower was always hot If you are looking for some where to stay for a few nights while in marrakech then this is the ideal hotel

Great value for money. Very helpful staff. Great location.
Stayed at the raid a week and was happy with service provided. breakfast was good too, Idris & Fawad was very helpful made as like part of a family, 5 Mins walk from jemna el fna and souks, would recommend foe couples to stay here not family's with kids.. had an excellent service from the owner John jack drop off to the airport thanks......
hassle of baggers and sellers..
driss was extremely helpful and once we found the place, realized it was very close to the main sites.
location was very difficult to find and was afraid of getting tricked by locals trying to guide us there. first floor room had no windows and the bathroom had a moldy smell since there was no air ventilator
location very good staff friendly and helpful very good value for money hope to be back
Shower room needs a bit maintenace
Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast and location! I recommend you the place, it's a great value. Tip, avoid ground floor rooms as they tend to be noisy.
Wifi signal is weak in the upper floors but that's the case in all the riad I've been too. No restaurant, don't rely on it. Better to walk a couple of minutes and you'll find plenty of them.
Everything was great, the room, the riad, the staff which was very nice to us, the breakfast, nothing to add, we will come back soon for sure !
this riad is a nicely restored old house in an unobtrusive alley of the marrakesh medina, some 500 m from the bustling agnaou st. the neighbourhood is certainly "authentic", but also noisy, grimy, an perhaps not 100% safe. rooms were adequate though the bathroom is on the simple side. the riad has a pleasant roof terrace where breakfast is served. personnel was in general helpful, providing information, helping out with laundry, etc. and when one of our party fell ill on the day of our departure, they improvised a quiet retreat for us in the downstairs space normally used for administration.
the hotel does not provide a key for the outer door, one has to knock. given its somewhat creepy surroundings, not pleasant! there is no elevator, but the stairs are not too bad. and sometimes, conversations can be rather loud. finally, one should bear in mind that riads such as this one afford a peculiar experience, they have character, but they are not really well-equipped hotels...
Really good hotel, very Nice staff. Near of everything but in a calm place. The best place to eat in Fes. Excellent dinner and a very good price... Don't hesitate!!!!
we were on vacation for 3 weeks in Morocco and among the many riads that I was not particularly impressed
Nice, friendly, beautiful decor, calm, and there is parking.
The only thing is far from Al Fana Mosque.
Clean, great host, gave us info on how not to be tortured by hagglers on the street, close to square, good spot!!!
The staff welcomed me with a comfy seat and a Moroccan mint tea. They gave me a quiet room on the top floor which was clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the morning of my tour, one staff prepared me breakfast even though it was really early. Great location to visit marrakech tourist attractions.
I had a hard time finding it as it is down an ally and not all cab drivers know it's location. People nearby were very helpful and friendly though.
Very quiet and comfortable place to stay. I really enjoyed staying at Riad Balkisse Very friendly staff, very helpfull, thank you again. The rooms are spacious and clean. Great breakfast on the terrace with lots of freshly pressed orange juice.... Location about 2 minutes stroll to Jema el Fna and about 3 min from the Souk , so no problem with getting anywhere on foot.
Friendly pleasant accomodation
Great location and very helpful staff. Clean and great value for money.
Bad quality of sleep, it's very noisy and the wifi doesn't work upstairs and it's too noisy downstairs. If you book here make sure to ask for a second floor room.
The Riad is in the middle of the Medina in a quiet neighborhood just few minutes from Djema El Fna. The breakfast was delicious and the host very helpful. Thanks to Reece and Ibrahim for taking care of us.
