Located in the Fes Medina, just a 2 minutes from Quaraouiyine Mosque, Riad Kettani’s 3 flowered rooftop terraces overlook the mountains and Medina.

Score from 101 reviews Excellent
Set at the heart of the medina in Fès, this riad features a shaded rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city. A flat-screen TV is provided in each air-conditioned guest room.

The terrace, the decor, the staff, the ambiance - I loved it all, it's possibly the best place I've ever stayed (including 5* hotels) I cannot recommend them highly enough. Excellent for couples or professionals seeking refined get away.
The breakfast was simple (but tasty) and it's a little tricky to find, but the GPS works offline on my phone and the staff are always happy to come and fetch you from other parts of the medina.
Amazing place to stay. A very impressive renovation. The manager, Sayid(?), was a very gracious host. He arranged reasonably priced tours and exit (escape) from the medina when necessary. The breakfast courtyard, roof terrace and the courtyard outside the rooms were all great spaces.
The rooms were breathtaking with extremely high dark timber ceilings. Unfortunately that made them difficult to light. To read during the day you had to go outside and sit in the courtyard - no great hardship.
Cleaniness of the place and the view from terrace.
Being in the middle of the old city with its narrow and winding paths makes it impossible to know your way around. If you decide to go ahead and walk those "Zkaks" and "Derbs" be ware that donkeys and horses defecate all over them turning them to a mess
Staying in Dar Bensouda was a truly unique experience. The building itself is an old palace beautifully decorated in a typical Moroccan style. There is a nice relaxing pool area, a spectacular historic patio, and a roof terrace with sunbeds, offering a magnificent view over the city. Very spacious, luxurious rooms, great and super clean bathrooms. Very good service. Although the riad is located deeply in the Medina, you can call the stuff to send someone for you free of charge. We were welcomed warmly with a large additional breakfast, and despite our very early arrival we were given a room immedietely. On the day of our departue we were served breakfast at 6:30am and got a transfer to the airport arranged by our host - Siad. We felt like we were their best guests, but their special attutude towards everyone is noticable. Delicious food, big portions, great dinner menu. We didn't find any nice restaurant in the neighborhood so we highly recommend having meals in the riad's restaurant. Wi-fi available in rooms.
We wish we stayed longer.
Staff were excellent, welcoming and informative. Venue itself was just what we were looking for. My daughter and I loved our massage and cookery class which included shopping in the market.
not only we were impressed by the interior and the detailed architecture, staff was super friendly, very helpful, generous, place was relaxing and very quite, all what I can tell you is that I will go again and you too meed to go!
The establishment was amazing steeped in history. The staff, & service they provided showed real understanding of what foreigners need when entering into the culture (shock) of the ancient medina of Fes, and accommodate accordingly. Trustworthy and though generally a tad expensive than the norm, worth every penny. Keep in mind that the set up of riads with central courtyard means sometimes noise travels. However the facilities of this riad are impeccable. A real oasis from the crazy chaos of Fes medina.
For us on our trip this was the most beautiful Riad al all! All was, just perfect
Difficult to find ,but a tip is just to call the Riad and the will come and collect you!
Fes was an amazing cultural experience. The hotel was in the Medina and that is part of the reason it was chosen. Definitely, we needed a guide to get there and one was arranged for us by the hotel. Our room was quite large and authentic, being hidden behind massive, old wooden doors. Someone seemed to be continuously cleaning the outer public guest areas. Upon arriving we were invited to sit in the beautiful courtyard which also serves as the breakfast serving area and enjoy mint tea. There is a wonderful view of the old city from the rooftop. The staff worked with us to resolve a misunderstanding and transportation issue. They were remarkably generous in their time and concessions. It was much appreciated and their generosity was greatly recognized.
Historical building, beautifully restored to retain its integrity. Wonderful atmosphere of quiet serenity. Perfectly located within the Medina The staff friendly, polite and efficient.
tiles on floor, high ceilings, clean place, fresh orange juice, places to relax out of room
I could never have found the place in the middle of the medina--felt almost trapped in there. Breakfast had no protein--juice, fruit, 3 kinds of bread.
Lovely decor quiet location nice breakfast great staff
Very helpful staff, in particular Said the manager who went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. He organised a driver and excursions for us, made some local bookings and nothing was too much trouble for him.
Being reluctant to manage stairs we opted a room on the ground floor opening onto the patio. That was fine but not always very private as a lot of the other guests used the inner patio to sit and check their emails (the wifi being better there than in their rooms higher in the building). We also found access through fairly rough and less than clean narrow paths a little challenging at times. The riad itself was a super place to stay but would be even better with more plants and flowers.
Very pretty riad (exceptionally well restaurated), very comfortable rooms, great view from the roof top
Just as a watch out, the riad is rather difficult to find for first time visitors (which is true for anything in Fes)
Beautifully kept and very clean. Staff can never do enough for for you. The location, right in the heart of the Medina, is fantastic. Also the view from the roof terrace is stunning.
Only thing is the breakfasts weren't very exciting and were practically the same everyday. They were still nice but just after 7 days became a bit boring.
Beautiful large Riad. Huge rooms. Spotlessly clean. Nice pool
Virtually a prisoner at night as it is not safe to wander the Medina.
This riad was in a tucked away part of the Fes medina but it was still close enough to all of the attractions of Fes. We were met by a porter which was very necessary otherwise we would not have found This oasis. Our room was absolutely beautiful with a comfortable bed, wonderful and large bathroom and a quaint sitting room. The pool and sitting area was wonderful and they even provided sun hats for each sun-lounge- very thoughtful. There was also another huge terrace which had plenty of seats, tables and couches. Breakfast was delicious and all staff,we're very accommodating to all requests. It was very hard to leave.
One of the most amazing stays in the whole journey around morocco!this Dar is an old palace! It is worth travelling to Fez just to stay there!! Everything was great, the room, the pool, the terrace, the breakfast plus the best tajine with lamp!! Highly recommended!!!!
Lovely interesting place great roof top area nice breakfast
Manager was friendly other staff not so and hello or a smile wouldn't go amiss. Food was very limited and expensive.
Healthy, beautiful breakfast with a pot of coffee! A little, yet very refreshing swimming pool. Gorgeous roof top terrace. Wonderful services from the riad manager, Hamid & his staff.
It wasn't easy to go back to this riad easily as there is no cars inside of the entire medina although that is a very unique part of our holiday experience!
All except the staff. Said was very attent.
The two evening guys was rude and displacent. Bad people.
Great location. Lovely spacious rooms. Great roof terrace. Friendly cooperative staff. Good food. Overall a very relaxing place to stay in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the Medina
Nothing of note
We are two girls travelling to Morocco for the first time and staying in the medina was a bit daunting at first. However the staff was absolutely amazing and took care of everything for us, they arranged guides for us and went over and above our expectations where we had day trips and arrived back at the medina at around midnight, they were able to have a late night dinner ready for us. The pool was gorgeous and the rooftop was perfectly positioned to overlook the medina heads and shoulders above other buildings. Really have no complaints. Absolutely stunning building and had an amazing time, would definitely book again if I am to visit Fes.
