Score from 278 reviews Exceptional
In Fès Old Medina, Riad Rcif features traditional Moroccan décor, a hammam and a patio with a fountain. It is just an 8-minute walk from the ancient school, Bou Inania Madrasa.
Score from 340 reviews Excellent

Excellent service level
WiFi only in the patio Dark No hairdryer in the room
My daughter and I very much enjoyed our stay. The facility was beautiful, the staff exceptionally accommodating before abd after our arrival. The food was tasty and available at times that accommodated our schedule. We booked two tours through the Dar. Both tour guides were very good.
We had no complaints.
Saaed the Manager was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of his way to meet my requests. This Riad had been immaculately restored with lovely ceramics, lights and decorations, it is like staying in a museum, but with comfort. Also the terrace was gorgeous, with 360 degree views, spectacular!
The booking.com telephone number was for Marrakech Riads not this actual Riad so upon arrival no way to contact the manager and ask for someone to guide me to the Riad. As a solo traveller I would have enjoyed a TV!
They received us as usual in Morocco with a mint tea while they got ready the room (turn on the heater and brought our suitcases). The room was cozy and very clean. All the staff are ready to help you, specially Said who helped us organizing our next steps (buses, petit taxis to the train and bus station, city guide and so on). You'll fell in an oasis within the medina. Also they kept out luggage for 1 day while we traveled to Chefchaouen. Definetily a good choice!
The only thing we could say is that the location is not the best one. It's not easy to get to the riad, specially the first time. A bit far from the main gate of the medina but close to Bab Rcif so finally is not a problem at all.
Lovely Bedroom; Charming Building; Enchanting History; Fantastic staff. I could have paid double and still felt I was getting a good deal. The location is the only downside - in the heart of the labyrinth that is the medina. However, the staff at Bensouda more than compensate....they even helped take our things through the market to a taxi, and picked us up from a restaurant across town. Great terrace overlooking the Kasbah.
Amazing restauration of an old Dar. A full immersion in history. Amazing view from the terrace over the city! Don't miss it during the day and at night.
The riad is beautiful, clean and well located. I highly recommend it.
The room was a bit cold. The manager was helpful but not much talkative, but it was not a problem for us. The location is complicated, you need to be patient and being able to get lose.It was not a problem for us bit it could be for other people.
An amazingly beautiful place. The staff were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was fantastic...I only had the salad selection for dinner one night and it was excellent. My only issue with this wonderful place is the location, it isn't easy to find and at night it is a bit of a hassle. The staff will come and get you so don't let that stop you from staying there. They arranged a wonderful meal out for 3 of us one evening..... I had only booked 2 nights and the Manager helped me find another very nice Riad.....
That i couldn't stay there longer!!
Samir speaks excellent English and is very helpful. The Riad is beautiful, and modern.
It is impossible to find anything by yourself the first time you get to Fez medina, so make sure you arrange to be met by someone from the Riad. It can be dangerous in the medina late at night by yourself. Our shower was just a handheld shower in the bath but it was ok.
This Hotel is just perfect!Really big rooms, nice bed, good location (heart of Medina! But not noisy!) The Stuff was very helpful. The food is also really good!
Extremely high ceiling, medieval riadu tirned into a hotel. Very beautiful.
Hard to find, GPS coordinates on booking com are wrong. Location a bit far from two main streets.
Hidden in the medina of Fes, this riad is spectacular with beautiful dining and lounge areas with swimming pool, different courtyards and spacious rooftop terrace overlooking the city. We stayed in one of their lovely bigger suites and shared a courtyard with another suite. The manager Said, as well as the entire staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and welcoming. Quite difficult to find, but we were told to call as soon as we parked our car in a safe underground parking and arranged for a porter to pick us up. We will be back for sure.
Nothing. Maybe only that because it is hard to find, we found it too challenging to leave the property at night. Not a huge problem, since dinner was fantastic.
Said the manager was excellent.
Everything about this hotel is absolutely great. Said ( the host ) is extremely kind & helpful and the complete staff really makes your stay at ease. I will visit them again, just book it, you will not regret it!
Staff members were great, especially Said the manager Helped us and accommodated every single request My partner also had a bad travellers' enteritis and they were very kind towards that making our stay even more comfortable throughout illness I cannot recommend it highly enough The architecture of the building is fascinating and it is worth a visit on its own One of the best places where I spent my holidays - also extremely comfy bed, always great to rest well after running and getting lost through the oldest Medieval medina in the all world. Thanks Fes and Dar Bensouda!!
If I have to find something to improve, the only thing I would mention is the breakfast; I would have not minded a bit more variety
The terrace, the decor, the staff, the ambiance - I loved it all, it's possibly the best place I've ever stayed (including 5* hotels) I cannot recommend them highly enough. Excellent for couples or professionals seeking refined get away.
The breakfast was simple (but tasty) and it's a little tricky to find, but the GPS works offline on my phone and the staff are always happy to come and fetch you from other parts of the medina.
Amazing place to stay. A very impressive renovation. The manager, Sayid(?), was a very gracious host. He arranged reasonably priced tours and exit (escape) from the medina when necessary. The breakfast courtyard, roof terrace and the courtyard outside the rooms were all great spaces.
The rooms were breathtaking with extremely high dark timber ceilings. Unfortunately that made them difficult to light. To read during the day you had to go outside and sit in the courtyard - no great hardship.
Cleaniness of the place and the view from terrace.
Being in the middle of the old city with its narrow and winding paths makes it impossible to know your way around. If you decide to go ahead and walk those "Zkaks" and "Derbs" be ware that donkeys and horses defecate all over them turning them to a mess
Staying in Dar Bensouda was a truly unique experience. The building itself is an old palace beautifully decorated in a typical Moroccan style. There is a nice relaxing pool area, a spectacular historic patio, and a roof terrace with sunbeds, offering a magnificent view over the city. Very spacious, luxurious rooms, great and super clean bathrooms. Very good service. Although the riad is located deeply in the Medina, you can call the stuff to send someone for you free of charge. We were welcomed warmly with a large additional breakfast, and despite our very early arrival we were given a room immedietely. On the day of our departue we were served breakfast at 6:30am and got a transfer to the airport arranged by our host - Siad. We felt like we were their best guests, but their special attutude towards everyone is noticable. Delicious food, big portions, great dinner menu. We didn't find any nice restaurant in the neighborhood so we highly recommend having meals in the riad's restaurant. Wi-fi available in rooms.
We wish we stayed longer.
Staff were excellent, welcoming and informative. Venue itself was just what we were looking for. My daughter and I loved our massage and cookery class which included shopping in the market.
not only we were impressed by the interior and the detailed architecture, staff was super friendly, very helpful, generous, place was relaxing and very quite, all what I can tell you is that I will go again and you too meed to go!
The establishment was amazing steeped in history. The staff, & service they provided showed real understanding of what foreigners need when entering into the culture (shock) of the ancient medina of Fes, and accommodate accordingly. Trustworthy and though generally a tad expensive than the norm, worth every penny. Keep in mind that the set up of riads with central courtyard means sometimes noise travels. However the facilities of this riad are impeccable. A real oasis from the crazy chaos of Fes medina.
For us on our trip this was the most beautiful Riad al all! All was, just perfect
Difficult to find ,but a tip is just to call the Riad and the will come and collect you!
