Score from 59 reviews Wonderful
beautiful decoration, very comfortable room with heater. Delicious breakfast served in the patio and the owner even served us an early breakfast on the day we left. Friendly staff. Close to Jemaa el-fna and palace bahia, very central but quiet and calm.
Very helpful owners, good breakfast, quiet location in the centre of the medina, nice riad and good price
We chose the Yasmina room, which is on the rooftop and has a lovely relaxing patio just outside the door. Felt like our own private space. Comfortable beds, great shower pressure and temperature. The location is just near the Dar Si Said Museam so easy to navigate back to following signs to Dar Si Said. Not too far from many attractions. Breakfast was simple but nice. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive. They didn't attempt to sell you packages like I've had experience with elsewhere in Morocco. All in all, comfortable and relaxing place to be for two girlfriends.
Just a couple of little things but certainly wouldn't stop me going back. Upon arrival, we were given tea and cookies but recieved no welcome/introduction talk. Suggestions for improvement would be the inclusion of a safe or lockbox in the bedroom as we felt uneasy leaving valuables in the room (although everything was fine), maybe the addition of some fruit to breakfast as it is quite carb heavy and a wall bracket for the shower head would be nice. Housekeeping came every day but didn't change towels, just refolded them. Also the map provided is very basic. Perhaps add the Museam to the map and some signage in the surrounding area so that it is easier to pinpoint as arriving on foot it can be quite confusing and I found it mostly through chance.
Wonderful ryad. Good position, quite and clean room. Good breakfast.
We loved this medina and were really happy with the room, the service and the location.
We paid our bill on the last night but as we were leaving the next morning, were told we owed a further 100 MAD. We were under the impression we had paid the bill in full and didn't like that it was sprung on us as we were walking out of the door.
Great location as tucked away for privacy out of the crazy medina. Very close to taxi rank which was easy. Great value for money. Was looked after well. Nice breakfast.
Excellent location. Lovely building and good comfort. Friendly staff.
No views from roof terrace. No locks on rooms (though front door security was good). Nonetheless, as someone who once lost passport, VISA, airline tickets and camera in similar situation in South America (to a fellow guest who then suddenly checked out), I see this as a security concern.
Style matching the medina location!
Difficult to find the closes car park. Coordinates for car park would have helped.
This is one of the best places I've stayed in my life - beautiful, clean, authentic and peaceful. Eating breakfast in the gorgeous cool courtyard while birds flew around us was magical, and the owners couldn't do enough for us, even booking a day trip for us at the last minute.
Riad Cala Medina is truly nice 'RIAD' in Medina, you can easily walk to the centre as well as rest on it's lovely terase and enjoy the mint tea in quiet area. Accomodation is very nice - oriental style and it's very clean. Great value for money.
Charging different amounds for the same services each time. I guess it's normal in Morrocco.
We received a very warm welcome from Samir. We were shown to the terrace where he brought us some lovely mint tea and whilst we filled out a couple of forms before he showed us to our room. After we had settled in he explained how to get to and from the riad and a little about how to get to the main places of interest in Marrakech. The other staff working there were more than just pleasant too and when we got to meet the owners they were just a nice and friendly. There was a young family with children and another couple staying there throughout our stay and although the riad is open, we found in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere at all times. Although we didn't spend much time there the couple of hours that we did spend in the communal areas were wonderful. Very comfortable and relaxing. When we go back to Marrakech we will not even consider staying elsewhere, we'll book the Riad Cala Medina with no hesitation.
I stayed at the riad for four days. The staff were very kind and nice, the riad is clean, good location. I totally recommend it !!
The setting and rooms of this riad were great, full of charm and atmosphere. The breakfast was very good, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
The only downside was the noise from the courtyard during meal time - True, we went to bed particularly early that night, while a family was having a late dinner. Maybe we were just unlucky!
