“The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Riad itself was an oasis of calm and serene ambiance after the busy hot streets. We will definitely come back to this Riad as it was central for all our requirements.”

Next to the Palais El Badi, in the heart of the Medina, this charming traditional Berber-style riad, is near the Dar Si Said Museum and Jemaa El Fna square. Decorated with natural Berber materials such as natural stone, burned bricks, terracotta, clay and wood, the Riad Carina welcomes you in a characterful and authentic setting. The patio with its basin offers a cozy setting to eat, socialize or simply unwind. Guests can also relax in the flowered pergola on the large terrace or in the Moroccan lounge. The rooms at the Riad Carina are decorated in the same natural style as the rest of the riad using the same materials. They offer individual air conditioning and heating as well as free Wi-Fi access. We really enjoyed our stay at the Riad Carina. The staff was very nice, helpful, available, smiling and welcome us perfectly - with a mint tea the first day. We had 2 nights in a room and we were changing to another room for 2 other nights but they finally upgrade us in the suite that was available. The room are very nice and cosy. The staff was all the time available and provide us with good advices. There is as well a good level of services (possibility of excursion, of swimming pool and hamman in another parent riad). We attended the cooking class with Aziza and we really enjoyed this moment which was also a nice way to share the Morrocan cuisine culture. The breakfast was a real pleasure every morning served professionally with nice smiles and with each day different pastries. What we liked as well is the location: the Riad Carina is not in the center of the Medina (while being at 10 min walking distance - very close to palais de Bahia) which is a perfect location because it avoids walking at night in the Medina, being lost and being in the hustle of the Medina each time you go out. It is also very close from the Mellah (Jewish quarter) that we like a lot. And just 50 meters from it there a taxi station. We would recommend it or go again in the Riad without any doubt. There is no specific "complaints" but we were slightly disappointed that the Terrasse was all cover and not available (no chair, or sleeping chair to enjoy the sun) whereas we were already end of March/Beg. of April - to enjoy a bit the sun and relax there after a long day walking in noisy and lively Marrakesh.

I don’t often feel the need to leave comments after staying at hotels, but I’ve had to make an exception with Riad Carina. First things first: The Riad itself is a beautiful and charming place in a very local area of the old city. Fifteen minutes from the Jemma el Fna square, it’s located perfectly for anyone who wants to escape the chaos of the square and some of the busier areas of the medina. Once you get your bearings in the medina, it’s extremely easy to find. Though I recommend at least using the transfer service from the airport once arriving in Marrakesh (no complaint there, taxi was on time, and as promised by staff we only paid for the taxi on our final day at the Riad) Secondly, the staff is one of the best things about the Riad. They were always friendly, attentive, helpful. Zahira, was fantastic as hostess as she was attentive but never overbearing. We booked all our activities through the Riad (Zahira) and nothing went wrong. From the airport transfer service, to our Moroccan cooking class, to our trip to the Ourika valley and finally our hammam and massage at the affiliated Riad Diane. Everything was as they said and there were never any hidden costs or “I’m sorry but that’s not included” incidents. The cooking class was fantastic and Aziza was really sweet in the way she taught the lesson, not to mention that her food is awesome. The couple massage and hammam was great and was half the cost of some the upmarket spa’s offering the same service. I highly recommend this Riad and will definitely stay here again, if I’m back in Marrakesh.

Couldn't recommend Riad Carina highly enough to all! We stayed at the Riad for 2 nights, and then at a hotel 5 miles outside of Marrakech for 3 nights, and the Riad was the far more impressive stay, it is a traditional experience of Marrakech life with modern luxury, and great personal touches from the staff. As an example we booked the cooking class at the Riad, and afterwards were told the drinks we had with our meal were free which was really nice of them. We had also booked a driver from the airport which was 20 euro- but then they gave us a driver for free to our next hotel. So overall felt really good value for money. And the Riad itself can only be described as an 'oasis of calm'! Coming from the busy old town into the lovely calm Riad is such a calming, relaxing experience. Overall the rooms were lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was perfect as only a 10 minute walk to Jemna al Fna square and all the souks. A must stay!

Truely excellent value for money. We stayed at Riad Carina 4 nights at the end of Feb 2012. It has the best customer service we've ever experienced, the manager is exceptional. Beautiful traditional custom Moroccan lighting and decoration. The lounge area and roof terrace has a wonderful atmosphere accentuated by the soft arabic music the Riad plays. The location is great for enjoying the intoxicating culture of Marrakech. It's close to the action of the Medina but at the same time relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommend ordering the private dinner service on the roof terrace, very romantic.

This hotel was an oasis of calm and tranquility which was surprising as it is so central to the hubbub of life in Marrakesh. The decor is beautiful - using traditional styles and materials but with a contemporary feel. There are lots of spaces within the hotel to relax with plants and wonderful scents to calm and relax guests. We loved sitting on the roof terrace watching the storks. The patio with the fountain and floating flowers was cool and calming. It is clean and well cared for. The staff were fantastic - catering to us and our teenage sons in a charming way - breakfast being delivered to the sun terrace at 11. 30! Mint tea was always on hand and beautiful music in the background. Breakfast was a feast and dinner cooked at the hotel was a real treat. The staff helped us to locate places we wanted to visit organising hammam and massage- sending guides with us at times and at no time put any pressure on us to take excursions or treatments. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and will stay again - soon!

The riad was great, very atmospheric and well decorated. The terrace was very nice and it is perfect for enjoying the sun. The room (Safran) was beatiful and quite comfortable. The location was also very good: in a quite souk a little further from Jamaa-el-Fnaa but in walking distance. The staff was very friendly. The shower drain was blocked and it was getting flooded.

Riad had an excellent location, about 15 mins walk from the main square. It was a haven of calm in a frantic city, The staff were friendly, helpful and eager to please, Rooms were clean and excellent value for a budget hotel. Nearby were 2 excellent restaurants - one possibly the best in Marrakesh- not cheap but worthwhile if you want to treat yourselves. I would recommend this Riad to couples or single travellers. It is not suitable for families or disbled travellers.

The staff was exceedingly helpful and went out of their way to clear up any misunderstandings. They helped arrange our car and driver, which turned out to be the catalyst which made the trip a sucess.

The riad was charming, beautifully decorated. The staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. If I found myself using the free wifi in the main guest area, they would surprise me with tea or watermelon. Also, when I was stranded in Marrakech, they went out of their way to help me. The location is good as it's close to some major landmarks and shopping. It's a direct route to the main square, reducing the possibility of getting lost. Not a complaint: if you are an English-speaker traveling to Marrakech, you should expect communication to require more effort as the main languages are Arabic, Berber, French, and Spanish. Fortunately, at riad Carina, Badr has a good grasp of English.

We absolutely loved this place. It is very peacefull and beautifull place very near to the hectic old medina. The place is beautifully decorated, the rooms are very well done and clean, the sanitair is good. It is a very good place to stay for a short but also a longer time. Good value for this money. The staff is very personal, friendly and professional, The service is good, the food is unbelievably delicious! We did a cooking class were the cook shared the recipies of here mother. In the small kitchen the cook and I made te best meal I had in months. Aziza you are wonderfull!! And thanks for your assistents later when we went to the souks to buy the spices to take to Hollland. Meriem and all staff made our stay something we want to repeat in the same place when we come back. We were travelling around and booked 3 nights at booking.com, but being here we decided to stay 2 more nights in this place. We thank all staff for giving us this nice part of Marroko!

The hotel is a real Morrocan Riad with the architecture and the design of the lobby as well as the rooms. Everything is clean, rooms are well equipped with air-conditionning (particularly appreciated in July) and furnished with morrocan-style furnitures. The staff is really kind and smiling. The breakfast is very good. The location is nice, very close to the Badi Palace, and the Bahia Palace and quiet in a very busy city. A great experience.

1. The interior design (traditional Moroccan cedar, tile mosaic, wrought iron) of the riad is very nice and more low-key than many riads. 2. The staff were very courteous and offered any assistance needed. 3. The location was walking distance (with luggage) from the car park outside the Bab Berrima gate on the south side of the medina. 4. Located just off a side street and was very quiet. 5. Great value for the money to me. We had 2 rooms at ~$100 each in late May). Small room but not too small, comfortable bed, no sitting area, good water pressure, very nice courtyard, very clean. 6. Dinner was ~20 euro each. Excellent food (and one of us is Moroccan and knows what is authentic) served in the courtyard (was raining or would have had terrace service). No complaints. Very, very nice staff and riad.

Charming, peaceful. Convenient for the main attractions of Marrakech but set in peaceful street away from the bustle. Slightly disappointed that the awning was never removed from above the central courtyard, unlike the pictures in promotional websites, but I gather this is common in Riads

Easy to find compared to other riads. Carima was very quiet and a comfortable but interesting walk to the main square. The storks you can see from the roof top were an added bonus on our last night in Morocco, especially as they were feeding young. Would def return to this place and recommend it.

Small riad in perfect location with great morroco decoration. The staff is great. They make great food and they serve very romantic: flowers, candles... Is hard to find for the first time. You better ask the riad for the airport pick-up. A little cold in the night.it was march. But the air conditioner solved this problem.

Molto cortesi tutti I membri dello staff!
