Riad Charme d'Orient

I can't recommend the Riad Charme d'Orient highly enough. It is an oasis of calm and relaxation - a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beautiful decor, attentive and friendly staff, formidable breakfasts, and the warm welcome and help we received from Laurence and her husband all contributed to a very enjoyable stay. Location is good, too.

A beautiful riad with extremely friendly owners, it feels like home! Said, the manager was the best! What a friendly guy. Warmly recommend this riad.

Unfortunately there were no possibility to eat dinner at the riad although it said that you could do so! That was a shame since the location of the riad is a bit away from the nice restaurants! We stayed 3 nights and found it a struggle to find good restaurants in the neighbourhood.

The owners were extremely helpful , warm and welcoming. Useful suggestions were plentiful. Over the top assistance with help on retrieving lost luggage from airport. They made you feel like a guest in their own home.

From the moment you enter the rhiad Laurence, the hostess, can not do enough for you - organising taxis, explaining where places are, recommending restaurants and ensuring your holiday is going well. The rhiad was perfect for exploring the old city being close to the temples and main square. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were intimate and well presented. The rooms had every attention to Morrocan detail and were spotless.There were comfortable, quiet corners in the rhiad and a sunny roof terrace to curl up with a book. It was in the Kasbah so was down a small alley which all added to the authenticity of the experience.

There was nothing we didn't like.

I wish there was a rating higher than 'excellent'!! From the first moment that we were greeted at the Riad, I felt so warmly welcomed. The staff is wonderful and attentive, and the rooms are extraordinary. The riad has a great location for walking all over Marrakesh, and is also an oasis of peace an quiet in a busy city. Thank you Laurence, Said, Alain and all of the staff - you provided a wonderful home away from home!

Laurence, Alain and Said will welcome you with open arms and set the tone with wonderful customer service right from the moment you step out of the cab. The Riad is just simply gorgeous, in a great location and customer service everyone desires!!! Would go back there in a heart beat!!!

There is not one bad thing to say about this Riad, simply amazing!

Beautiful riad in the heart of the city. Well positioned to access all the main sites. We stayed in Moulay which was perfectly designed in a moroccon style with a big bathroom. The breakfast was amazing and served up on the roof top terrace. I would strongly recommend ordering dinner at the hotel - you have to order in the morning and it isn't cheap but it is delicious. very romantic too as more often than not you'll be the only couple in the dining area. In summary, I would recommend this riad for its exceptional service (laurence, alain and said are always there to help you personally with any advice or bookings you require) and its beautiful design.

Definitely book airport transfer - you'll struggle to find the place otherwise!

Lack of space for storing clothes in the room.

This riad is a little gem. It has only been open for 2.5 years and everything inside is brand new and of amazing taste. Laurence is a wonderful hostess. She does it with the heart and as a guest, you will feel incredibly looked after. She works so hard in the riad, taking care of every little detail. Our room was very nice (Moulay Ahmed on the first floor) and offered privacy. The riad also has a great terrace and a brand new glass roof which makes it probably the only riad in Marrakech to have that sort of roof protection over the central patio. Good breakfast, very central position. We highly recommend it (and we are fussy, typically only go to 4-5 stars hotels).

The friendliness and help from the staff-nothing was too much trouble.The riad is very comfortable and a welcome retreat after a long day in the city.The breakfast was good and we also booked one evening meal which was excellent. The riad is in a good situation for the major historical sites and for the main square and souks. A big thank you to Alain, Laurence,Said and Asma for making this a very special holiday.

This is an extremely beautiful riad. Not only the interior design of the riad but the location is great too, very close to the main square. The couple who run the riad are exceptionally warm and extremely helpful equally there is sufficient privacy. Offering a high standard of service and facilities throughout and a great breakfast. The security was ideal for us as two women travelling alone. I would totally recommend this hotel whilst being in the centre of the medina the riad offers a quite, clean and tranquil surrounding.

Very large and comfortable Riad, beautiful pool and terrace, at night you can do star-gazing on the terrace. lovely host Laurence who showed us all the main attractions and also guided us to Spa and Sahara tour. Highly recommended.

The owners, Laurence and Alain were very friendly and helpful. They even drove to the railway station to buy me tickets. I hope to stay there again when I visit Marrakech again.

A bit difficult to find, even with a map.

If you're looking for a beautiful small Moroccan Riad, recently renovated with beautiful taste by the two French owners, in an ideal location -- 10 minutes from the main square -- close enough yet far enough -- with wonderful breakfasts, good internet, and amazing care by the owners and staff, I can't recommend the Riad Charme D'Orient enough.

Amazing service, beautiful design, wonderful food and the friendliest welcome we have ever experienced. Alain, Laurence, Said and Asma looked after us as if we were family. I cannot recommend Riad Charme D'Orient highly enough. I'd happily have moved in! :)

There was nothing to dislike.

Alain & Laurence are a charming husband & wife team who own the Riad. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from meeting us at the taxi drop-off to accompanying us on a shopping trip to buy a leather jacket ! The rooms were very clean and tidy, everything worked well. We ate in the Riad on the last night and were extremely happy with the meal which was delicious. I will definitely visit again and have no hesitation recommending the Riad Charme d'Orient as an excellent base to explore Marrakech. Martin Wright

Super riad, met een super gastvrouw! Laurence wachtte ons op en we werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen. Bij een kopje thee kregen we een deskundige uitleg over alles wat er in de stad te beleven viel. De riad is heel stijlvol ingericht en de kamers heel comfortabel en super proper. De ligging is ideaal, vlakbij de paleizen en op wandelafstand van het Djemaa el Fna plein. Van de drukte in de medina is in de riad niets meer te merken, een oase van rust. Het ontbijt in de riad is heel erg verzorgd en gevarieerd. Een dikke pluim voor Laurence en Alain die in Marrakesh een prachtig gastenverblijf hebben uitgebouwd, een aanrader!

Questo Riad, gestito da una signora francese, è posizionato a pochi minuti a piedi da jemaa el fna (la famosa piazza cuore della città) e dalle maggiori attrazioni di Marrakech, pur rimanendo in una zona tranquilla. Il parcheggio pubblico nelle vicinanze è comodissimo per chi viaggia in auto. Il Riad è molto bello e curato, buona la colazione e utili I suggerimenti della proprietaria.
