Riad D'or

Tthe “Superior Quadruple Room” (the Pacha room if you are looking at the riad’s website) easily accommodated two married couples (one double bed and two twin beds that the staff had pushed together) in somewhat separated/private areas. The room also had a comfortable couch on which a short person or child could sleep. The common areas of this riad are among the most intricately, ornately, and opulently decorated (in a good way) of any in which I have stayed. Lots of hot water. Staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English very well. Breakfast was good with a large variety of breads.

Room was fine but the common areas of this riad are significantly more beautiful. The shower did not have a curtain, so keeping the rest of the bathroom dry required care. We had an odd experience at the restaurant and probably would not return for dinner.

It was like staying over night at the museum. Truly a heritage hotel with modern equipment. Beautifully furnished but no artificial elements unnecessarily added. Friendly and helpful staff.

The room had a strange smell. In the toilet the shower was broken and none of the fittings worked. The water was either scalding hot or freezing cold and hence you could tale a shower.whiele there were several people at the reception all the time, none of them what needed to be done.

I appreciated the staff's helpfulness -- from the reception ladies who assisted with our pre-seat flight bookings to buying our train tickets to Rabat and helped with laundry! Then a special thank you to the chef who went to the trouble of taking us to the atm and the cyber cafe on her way home and also the owner who so kindly took us to the station personally and helped us with our luggage! Many thanks indeed for your kind assistance! The food was also excellent.

There could have been a bottle of water in the bedroom with glasses.

Superb decor and atmosphere. Excellent restaurant. Location right in the old medina.

Both exit doors locked before breakfast and no staff around. We could not get out of the hotel - fire hazard. Beware if you need to catch an early train or bus.

Huge rooms in a stunning building split over multiple levels and filled with local handicrafts, winding stone staircases, intricate plaster work and surprising nooks. One of the best breakfasts we had in Morocco with superb service from the lady (manager?) who also provides front of house service in the related restaurant. Located right in the heart of the medina in a quiet spot. Extremely good value for money.

As seems to be the case with most accommodation in Morocco, wifi is only available in a (smoky) common area and not available within the rooms.

Location was good

It felt very impersonal. The front staff were not well trained to serve the customers with good advice. No maps availeble. The restaurant had a very limited maroccan menu

Absolutely everything...you cant fault this place.All from reception/restaurant staff to desigh of rooms and location is amazing...Having stayed in excellent Riads too in Fez, Marrakech, Casablanca, y Tanger...We were seriously impressed by this one.A winner in all ways.

Beautifully remodelled riad which maintained the integrity of the original 1791 building. More beautiful and interesting than palaces we visited. Each room is interesting and different with updated contmporary bathrooms, glassed in rooftop restaurant. Incredibly nice and helpful staff. Great location.

What's not to like? It's a wonderful place to stay.

Great place in one of the old building in the old town. Excellent location for visiting the central square, the medina and imperial palaces. Fantastic decoration; the place is a maze and everystairway leads to a new surprize..... Pleasant staff and for us as a gay couple no ackwardness whatsoever from any of the staff, very welcoming. Breakfast on the roof top with great panoramic views, and even a small swimming pool, too bad we were there in December, so couldn't enjoy the pool.....

Some of the rooms are small, I'd suggest to spend a little more for one of the larger ones.....

Was a little strange being the only one in this large, maze-like riad. But that was the season, not the riad itself.

Clean, easy to find because of the signs, the location is back away from the busy street down a walking path, so quiet at night, staff were friendly, spoke English, dinner was delicious, hot, and for the price it was a good value, restaurant was very close, attached really, and had fireplace, very clean everything, massage service and place was excellent, the design of the building very excuisite, staff provided us with a basic map of the area and cookies that melt in your mouth and hot mint tea upon reception, the delicious breakfast was filling, terrace has 360 degree view of the immediate area, they provided us an extra space heater, they let us view several rooms and we were able to pick which we liked, they have a small hamman that looked like it would be really good however...

The hamman did not have hot water working when we were there, the rooms in December were a bit chilly, even with the wall heater and the space heater, perhaps due to the high ceilings, perhaps due to the fact that some of the rooms never see the sunlight

Riad D'or is spacious, elegant and beautiful and still budget friendly. The entire place is luxuriously detailed in the style of a sultan's dar. The marble, mosaic walls and arches, the rich fabrics all make your stay extraordinary. The staff is attentive and cheerful. The food is wonderful and opulent. The location is in the medina, close to everything.

I loved everything about riad D'or.

Well when you look at the recent reviews of this Riad I would concur wholeheartedly. It has charm atmosphere and is fairly easy to find I was greeted by the professional staff with a pot of tea and they did whatever was necessary to make my stay more comfortable The breakfast was very good even chilled orange juice!!! I'd stay here again no problem

The only thing is that on the first floor rooms, they are a little dark as not much natural light gets in. I had Mosquitos in my room, not sure how they got there

Stylish rooms are spread throughout 3 linked ancient buildings, each with its own character. Great multi-level terrace with panoramic views. There are so many details in the fitting-out of the whole hotel, the common rooms and even simply in the corridor, its overwhelmingly stunning! They have an enormously spacious roof terrace with a pool and many different seating-areas, everything incredibly pretty. The riad is very well located and really clean. A peaceful location within a busy medina. The staff is outstanding in friendliness and service. The breakfast is great, everything is fresh, really tasty and they offer a big, authentic selection of different deliciousnesses. The best and most extensive breakfast we ever had in Marocco.

It was a pitty the swimmingpool on the roof was not filled with water during our stay in October. The rooms are rather expensive. The associated restaurant is lovely but expensive and the food was nothing special.

excellemt hotel This hotel looks like a palace. I couldn't beleive that for this price I could stay in such a place. The breakfast was great and the staff very kind. Thr guy at the reception, Redonane, did take his time and showed us almost all parts of the hotel, explaining us everything on how it was built and the use of each part. This hotel is so nice that you can think it is better to stay in it than to go out to the city. Recomend it to everybody

The place is absolutely beautiful, huge with many different rooms and terraces.

The stuff did not show us the hotel or inform us about the commune areas. We did not get the key to the room and there was not enough towels for all of us. Shower drain was blocked. We had to walk up and down to the reception several times to get everything in order. We travelled with 4 of us and took the large room for 4 people. That was a mistake as the look on the booking is deceiving. The room is very small and you can not close the shower room. This was rather uncomfortable. We should have taken 2 separate rooms!

he riad is very well located and really clean. It is extremely beautiful furnished and tastefully decorated. The rooms are very spacious with nice, big bathrooms and everything looks magnificent. Its like a palace or museum, actually, when youve seen it you dont want to go out any more. There are so many details in the fitting-out of the whole hotel, the common rooms and even simply in the corridor, its overwhelmingly stunning! They have an enormously spacious roof terrace with a pool and many different seating-areas, everything incredibly pretty. The breakfast is great, everything is fresh, really tasty and they offer a big, authentic selection of different deliciousnesses. The employees (especially Issam) are delightful, willing to help, kind and courteous! Summarized, it was the out and away most beautiful riad of our tour throughout the country. We totally recommend the riad and have nothing to complain about. We definitely would join it again, at any time! Thank you for the great stay! Keep going :)
